Having a GRAND time - The Official GF Chat Thread PART 3

I like my new boo Mickey! I was out in storage room and digging through all my fall decor and I cant wait to get it all up! I got some gorgeous wood acorns last fall on clearance at Michaels! They are gorgeous and big and I cant wait to decorate and do some pumpkin carving and topiaries in October! I think we are gonna attempt a Mickey Pumpkin this year!

I snuck back in from swimming....making burgers.

Vanessa!! That is great!! I will def wait because honestly spending $450 on these tickets really doesn't thrill me. With our luck that we don't have we'd see that we could have paid 1/2 of that and still been just fine w/out seat choice. It seems like everybody and their uncles sister's best friend's cousin has seen it except us. Lucy read the book & has the soundtrack and some of her friends have been several times.....I just hate going downtown and I am underwhelmed about live theater so it's a double whammy on me not wanting to do it.

Mandy...it's 90 degrees here today. I cant even think about fall! Not sure how you FL girl is able to!!! I need the chill in the air and a crisp couple nights and I will start thinking scarecrows and acorns. Glad you like your MIckey pumpkin!!!

Mandy~ You gave me a great idea but I went to look for my fall stuff and cannot find it. We moved around Thanksgiving so who knows where the heck it is at. We always do Disney pumpkins. I bought the pumpkin carving kit from Disneystore.com and it has a lot of cute patterns (time consuming but cute!)

YEah it is hot here today to! The kids were on the blowup water park slide thing all morning!

Honestly it most likely will be hot or warmer till December for us.

It use to be hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit b/c it was so dang hot still BUT i realized if I decorate and play Christmas music it helps! The "ber" months (sept-dec) Are my favorite months and my fave seasons! We get a jump start on Christmas around here so I like to be fallish looking a few weeks into sept so it does not feel like i put it up and then take it down! We decorate the tree and deck the halls and all that on Thanksgiving night and have it all done by the end of the weekend. They start horse drawn carriage rides through our neighborhood the Monday after thanksgiving so there is a little pressure there! A week before Christmas we do candle luminaries down the road so our little town get all into it even in 85 degree weather!

Ok enough blabbering about holidays I starting to think about making new luminarys..... I got ton to do!

Forgot to add that it is so hot here at Holloween we put our pumpkins in the back fridge to keep them from rotting, then out after dark till bed time! DH just loves me having him move our pumpkin family in and out, in and out! LOL!

BTW: Chan I so want to see Wicked so bad! I know it is not your thing but i am excited for Lucy!

Well Chan you are not the only one SOOO not interested in seeing Wicked....I just have no desire and I like musicals, the ballet, etc....Everyone that i talk to just raves about it and lots of peeps have gotten the balcony seats and said it was just fine. Marvel~ That one pic that have the clouds rising up is what we call a thunder head. That was a thunderstorm forming! Cool picture!

OMG Kelly~ So you won the dance party thing at Epcot again AND the Dream fast passes? Can you believe I have NEVER won a thing during the years of a couple million dreams? You are so lucky!

I can't complain because we got dream passes twice and hats twice BUT Im going for that castle stay in december.

.....BUT they are building a subdivision behind our woods and last fall snakes were out all over the roads my neighbor and I walk on. I get the shakes just thinking about it. I think due to them digging or something the snakes are displaced

When we lived in our old house twice we had new houses being built very close to us. And twice we found mice in the house. They are so quick and nasty. I'd rather have a rat than a mouse. (just so i doint sound crazy...we had to handle mice and rats in college. The rats were much easier to pick up and handle..the mice were always able to swing thier heads around and bite you on the hand)

I haven't tried RPC yet, I really love the GF and I am really afraid to pick up the price of the trip by that much more. One day I am going to live on the edge and try it, but I know there is NO going back!!!

Morning all. I am sitting here watching I LOVE LUCY on TV Land.

I was watching that last night too. Good to see it on.

[AND...quite honestly out of all our RPC stays that stay was the one I came home with feeling regrets including sticker shock. The whole place, parks and GF were packed and it was a "different" crowd. The nasty kind that make the CMs bust their tails and stress everybody out.

Are you trying to get me to change my mind?

Also, maybe being away from home during Xmas played a part in that feeling...not sure. I talked to several other Dissers I knew that were at the GF in rpc during that time and they had the same feelings.

hey all....well I am waiting to see how V's less expensive seats go. We can choke down a $200 theatrical better than $450. I don't know, Dawn...everybody RAVES about it. I almost think it's one of those things that people just HAVE to see because everybody else did.... I just don't like theater. Never have never will. I love the symphony and even opera, but theater eh.

Mandy, that is cute about your pumpkins in and out....ours rotted one year...left a yucky stain on our fireplace stone. One yera I didn't know it was rotted, picked it up to move it and made a gross mess. I am not a pumpkin fan, either. NO theater...no pumpkins.

Marvel.....about Xmas. ....well.....honestly I would love to do a Disney Xmas again. I love that place. My kids don't want to. It was just weird. Can't explain it..can't put my finger on it....it was the ME FIRST crowd BIGTIME BIGTIME & that just doesn't jive with the holiday feel. I usually get it at the parks and the GF is sooo lovely but the GF was crawling with it, too. omg..and i sure hope you're kidding about the mouse/rat thingy.

We swam all day. I am cashed. Plus the major sugar low from the 16...YES 16 roasted marshmallows doesn't help. OMG...I could eat a whole bag. Now I feel ill. haha....I wasn't counting when I was cooking them.....and then it hit me and I thought back.....omg.

Dawn We saw Celine Dion last year in Las Vegas and her show was amazing She is truly an entertainer ...

When I was a kid (just a while ago ) we used to love to wait for the Good Humor truck to come around-the man in his white uniform... Chocolate ecalir bars, toasted almond bars, creamsicles ( as you can see I was a good customer )

Hate to admit it but the inside of my house is decorated for fall-I got soooo sick of all the summer stuff- I'll change the wreaths etc in about a week dont want the neighbors to think I'm crazy...I have a great ceramic Mickey pumpkin that lights up...A great halloween decoration...

Channing My kids like to be at home on Christmas too...

But for all of you who will be there for the holiday I'm sure it will wonderful

Ya when we went to Vegas couple years back me and DD went to see Celine...that was THE BEST SHOW I EVER SAW!

DH went very reluctantly-he is not a big fan of hers and he loved it too Also on that trip we saw the comedian Danny Ganz, very funny show

That was my first trip to Vegas and I really enjoyed it...Not more than WDW ofcourse

Absolutely no joke. When i found out we had to inject rats and mice i was like

We were in groups of 4 and the girls in each group made sure the 'brave' men would do it. yeah, right.
But its true. easy to pick up a rat...sort of like throwing a curve ball. your middle and pointer finger go around his neck with your thumb on the side and you just pick it up and flip it over. They couldnt move. But those mice with thier no bone bodies...boy do they squirm

I hate hearing how good the show is cause as it looks now... I will definately not be going and taking the kids to the party. My wife might go and leave early to be at the party by 10pm.

If the show is scheduled for 8pm what time would she go on? Is there a first act?

Dawn - Celine Dion was staying in the Walt Suite in RPC when we there in June 2007!! I about dropped my plate of Cheese Danishes when I turned around by the Latte Machine in the lounge and her and her son and bodyguard were standing there!!
The funny part was that DH who is usually pretty cool was standing up over by the sofa and pointing to her back and mouthing " It's Celine Dion!" The freaky stalker.... Thank goodness she didn't see him! You could tell they wanted privacy but she smiled and then went about her business. She is a skinny Minnie!!

That would be good if there is no opening act... wifey would get to see most of the show id assume before having to leave.

I looked into selling them on ticketmaster exchange but for some reason these tickets have to be picked up at will call and therefore i have no barcode info from the ticket to put into the system.

I did see Joan Rivers. She was in the Walt Suite last July. I almost wanted to swipe her bfast order card off the doorknob. DH held me back.

I heard when we checked out of the Walt Suite....a BeeGee checked in.Strange but true.
