I told her to go with a friend and meet us at party later. I didnt think it was fair to have other friends with thier own kids watching all of ours.

Our anniversary is a few days before and i never did get that time off to go down... it was supposed to be next weekend.

I did see Joan Rivers. She was in the Walt Suite last July. I almost wanted to swipe her bfast order card off the doorknob. DH held me back.

It is a hot one here in Chicago today, i feel guilty for laying low and not doing anything, but its my labor day too..Right??? I dont even feel like going to the pool...im a SLUG today!

Channing...my sister went to Wicked and loved it. I myself would rather see jersey boys. I like going downtown but only if dh is driving. The first time we took my dd down there we took her to the AG store and for some reason she was calling chicago the 'wrap city' We have no idea where she got that from so she is always asking when we are going into the wrap city...we don't go as often as we should with the kids I guess but the traffic going east is HORRENDOUS!!!!!!!!!!! With that in mind, I'm not looking forward to hockey season this year...dh has season tickets through work and we'll be going to alot of the games...ugh after a long night at the hawks games I'm so ready to just be home and that construction traffic going E is just horrible...sometimes at night they'll shut it down to one lane and ugh it will take us like 2 hours to get home when realistically it should take us 45-50 minutes. Gotta love Chicago traffic
I wanted to see Danny Ganns in vegas but we were only there for a short 3 nights (this year in June) so it wasn't possible. He's gone from the Mirage at the end of the year...I hear that's a great show!

I was thinking of upgrading us to RPC however with dh's job so iffy we said we'd just stay with the theme park view...I'm afraid we'd be too spoiled as well and then not be able to settle for any less. And no telling how life can change over the next few years so if we don't have the cash I don't want to be disappointed if we have to go to a mod or value

Hello!! Can anyone tell me how to post pics? I swear I am not computer challenged, but I can't seem to bold, italicize, underline, multi-quote, include attachments, etc. The icons (except I don't see one anywhere for adding attachments) are there, but they don't work! Mind you, I have an eight-year old dinosaur for a computer (looking to replace in 09)!! Any advice????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning all! I left on Friday and just got back, and wow have you been busy, thread 3! I can't believe that the Halloween stuff is already going up. How cool!
BlueSkies, I wish it would have been us in the cabana. It rained everyday except the last day we were there. We only used the pool once, but the hot tub every night.

The pictures are beautiful that everyone is posting. It makes me want to be there again now.

tinklvr64, I was thinking about you while shopping at the Basin store. I know how much you love the Basin products and now I see why. I just love them! I thought my DH would be bored in the store, WRONG! He was worse then I was. He wanted one of everything. I wasn't going to stop him!

Good Morning to All . Another beautiful....but HOT.....day today . But I'll take it as the weather is calling for RAIN here in Chicago come mid-week . Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend and is getting back into the swing of things . DS is feeling MUCH BETTER and is back to school today.....finished homework and all .

Mickeynut...OMG I'd be right there with you if I saw a mouse in my house...UGH...freaks me out just thinking about it. I live in the country too and I know there are many mice out here along with many other things I'm sure. Dh actually puts mouse traps in the garage but we've never had any in the traps. I don't like snakes either but that doesn't seem to be a problem here thankfully. I'm allergic to bees so I'm also running from them when I see them Your area is really building up out there isn't it? My cousin just built a house on the outskirts of Valpo (off 250W if you know where that is) and I can't believe how much that area is building up. I remember driving on 250W when it was nothing but fields. He lives far though. The only thing close to him is a family express At least there is a grocery store in front of my subdivision...that's the only thing in the town I live besides McDs and gas stations but at least I have that to fall back on

DH hasn't had to set any traps here (YET ).....so hopefully it'll stay that way and I won't see any of those little creatures . I know exactly where 250W is....that's not far from me at all.....quite close actually . I can't believe how much it's built up out here, either......and you're right.....it all used to be just fields and now all you see is houses all around . But we love it out here.....it's so nice and peaceful . Things actually are very convenient, though......we are only 10 minutes or so from Valpo and 10 minutes the other way to Merrillville/Crown Point.....it's amazing what's all out here compared to what it used to be . But you can get out into the boonies where there's NOTHING . That's TOO country for me .

It was hot yesterday!!!! Don't feel bad for laying low....that's what days off/holidays are for, right??? We all need that every so often . Hope you enjoyed your day of relaxing .

Thanks for the positive words on GV. I know it is going to be great and even though I really wanted to splurge on RPC because of all the positive reviews and since it is our Anniversary I just felt too guilty to do it. When you put it all on paper it is a lot of money. GV will be great and this way I can still stay at the GF. I am still paying more than I ever have for a room at WDW due to it being the holiday season. I wish they would come out with a code but I know I am dreamin.

I need to get busy around here but I agree on celebrating the Labor Day with no labor.

Although we haven't had our first GF stay yet, I know you will have a great time whether you're in RPC or GV!!! I keep going back and forth whether or not to try SL for our July trip, but then I keep thinking if I'm going to do it to just go with RPC.....but the price difference is ALOT MORE . Plus we want to go back in December 2009 and were originally going to stay at the WL at that time, but now I'm rethinking that and want to do the GF....and we haven't even stayed at the GF yet . And a few of the nights in December will be at holiday rates, so that's what's pushing me to keep my GV for July and book GF GV again in December . But RPC is soooooo tempting . But you will have an awesome time .

Dawn - Naperville isn't that far from me....only about 40-50 miles...we're used to traveling that as we always go to Oak Brook, which isn't far from you at all . We LOVE Wild Fire and Maggiano's.........YUM!!!!!! Wish they had those out our way.....but since they don't, we'll just have to keep traveling up there . It's either Oak Brook or Schaumburg and Oak Brook is a little closer . But we make it to Schaumburg every year the day after Thanksgiving....and Maggiano's is usually the one on our list that day after a morning of shopping .

We didn't do much yesterday either....just hung out and relaxed . Now I'm paying the price because I have soooo much laundry to do !!!!

I'm Back!!

We returned last night from our month stay in the Poconos. It's so good to be back in the city!! I really missed it! I miss walking around. I felt at times like I was living in the car, we had to drive everywhere - I'm not used to that.

I can't stop thinking of Praline and Arborette, I hope they're safe and their homes are too. Mandy, you were in my thoughts too!

I've got a ton of stuff to do. Tomorrow is DS4's first day of school.

Give me a few days to get back into the swing of things. I missed chatting with you all!

My DS started HS today, I cried like a baby when he left the car. He was so handsome, with his sportsjacket and tie!!! He was nervous but he was trying to protect me because he know I was trying so hard not to cry. When he got out of the car, he said don't worry mom, I'll call you as soon as I can!!

My DD starts tomorrow 6th grade, but the same school. I am going to enjoy a girls day out shopping with her. It will keep my mind busy too!!

My DS started HS today, I cried like a baby when he left the car. He was so handsome, with his sportsjacket and tie!!! He was nervous but he was trying to protect me because he know I was trying so hard not to cry. When he got out of the car, he said don't worry mom, I'll call you as soon as I can!!

My DD starts tomorrow 6th grade, but the same school. I am going to enjoy a girls day out shopping with her. It will keep my mind busy too!!

Ohhhh don't worry....he'll be fine . I know how you feel because my DS started HS this fall too . If it makes you feel any better, he loves it !!!!! My other DS is in 8th grade so I'll have 2 in HS next year . Starting HS isn't near as bad as when he'll start drivers ed....which is as soon as I get him signed up . He will get his license next July.....talk about scary !!!!! But I know how you feel because it's so hard to see them grow up......the time goes by too quick . Go and enjoy the day shopping with your DD....hopefully that will ease your mind .

YUMMO...Maggianos rocks! I usually eat there or the cheesecake factory (never miss a chance to get cheesecake though even when we don't eat there) when we go to Oakbrook. I thought my cousin lived in the boonies off 250W but I know my mom took hwy 6 in from LaPorte so maybe its close to Valpo taking 6. He was just about 15 mins or so from Merrillville so I guess that's not too bad. I'm about 25-30 minutes from any type of shopping (besides my local grocery store) or real eating (I don't count mcds). That gets annoying. Next time I move I want to be 5-10 mins from shopping and eating...I hate the drive!

Naperville is about 30-40 mins from me. I love to go up there...usually make it once per year at least. Diamondmart is where some of my jewelry came from so I go up there to have it checked out and cleaned. I have yet to go to the popular childrens museum that I keep hearing about...will have to make time at some point to take the kids there!

Not a great day today I have a bad cold that I got from the kids who were sick all of last week so now Im just feeling blah It's 90 here today and summer colds suck! We have a fun filled day of running around from class to class. DD has cheer/tumbling at 12 and then gymnastics at 430. All I'd like to do today is sit on the couch! I also have to run to AAA to get my paperwork from my switch to GF. Still have not told dh yet

Did you have your big party outside? There was a large group at the end of Sago singing patriotic songe to the fireworks one night, and I wondered if it was you. (I know you said a party, not sure if it was big and outdoors. )

My party was supposed to be outdoors at that same spot (they call it Sago Cay Pointe I think) but TS Faye had other plans and it was in the convention center...It was quite a surprise and the room was beautiful! Then at fireworks time our hostess brought us all out onto a beautifully landscaped private patio whre we saw Wishes music and all...

I have so much more to post about the party and trip but today is chock full of errands Not to mention the neverending

Wishes I cried when DS's and DD went off to high school (you'd think by child #3 I'd have stopped )...Its another milestone and as they get older the time goes so quickly...

When DSs went off to college I cried for weeks( before they left ,dropping them off-that was the worst and after we came home too)-drove DH crazy....

We cant help it we're moms after all...

Ok, Brook called me last night and this morning and they are ok. They are without power at her parents, Her house is ok they had about a inch of water but she seemed to not be too worried about that since they have tile and think they only need to replace base boards. She said the water was already gone by the time they got to their house this morning and they think it got blown in under doors somehow and then just seeped back out. They are estimating her area will be without power for 2-3 weeks.

Thats all I know!

Afternoon all~ Wow part 3, I remember when we began the first chat thread! Ok, I have to say everyone pray for our friends in LA. We have two GF gals that are in the path of the storm Praline3001 and Arbonette, some of you are new and don't know them but just keep them in you thoughts and prayers!

I have been out of it the last few days. I got very sick the morning we checked into the GF and yesterday I finally got to the doctors. I am on a ton of meds and pain meds.

I did switch my Dec ressie back to GV. (I know I will miss that Deluxe RPC but I think I better start at the bottem and work my way up) I just could not pay the RPC price and I am just hoping on my waitlist at BCV for the two nights over New Years so I can use points instead of cash. I really tried to talk myself into VWL but the girls have a few activities planned at the GF and it will be so nice to walk out of our room to take them. We are down to 4 nights at GF also instead of 5 and that saved us a little. If we left a day earlier the airfare is still $100 more pp. I already paid almost $500 pp I asked for marina view and I doubt highly there would be any upgrades during Xmas. Can you see the fireworks from the marina view rooms???

Some of the marina view rooms can see fireworks (the ones in the middle of the building at least). We were on the other side so the jutting section blocked us. We just walked out the door and watched them from the sidewalk right there

WICKED TICKETS IN CHICAGO?!?!? help........

ok all....I have spent the past hour + searching for Wicked tickets... FIrst off....I really do NOT care to see it. I hate going downtown, I hate live theater a LOT...I hate the hassle. I hate a lot about it. But LUcy really wants to & has wanted to for years.. she reminded me while I was sitting ehre with my laptop. busted. So...now I remember a big reason WHY I HATE THIS STUFF.....TICKETMASTER! OMG....ANN"OYING. THey have an even worst website then WDW!!!!!!

So....I cannot commit to a date first off. Second...WHo wants to pay $110 for a ticket?!?!?! NOT ME. The 4 of us would go. That seems like a total rip to me. AND, looking at their seating chart is like ??????? WHat's the best seats? Orchestra? Or what the heck is "Dress Circle"? I can get Dress Circle the Fri after Tgiving for $120 ish each....and Orchestra about $110 other days....so I am so confused and sick about spending that much money and thinking it better be good with GOOD SEATS!!!

Any of you Chicago girls go? What should I do?!?!? I am just so aggravated.

My friend saw it last year. She enjoyed it. I am not a theater person either. I remember trying to figure out the seats when we bought my IL's tickets to Jersey Boys. We got them on the floor, but too close to a pole See if the site gives a % of obtracted views for each category.
