WOW, Channing how do you deal with something like that?
I'm thinking what I would do? Maybe say the kids or me have plans already?
I don't know.....she emailed me the flight info this morning....I am just sitting on it. I really don't know. It is SO AGGRAVATING. Seriously....she was MAD because I didn't send her a Mothers Day card and hasn't called or emailed since then. I didn't because i was home bound for the whole week prior with a super sick Jojo on the sofa and sleeping and DH working late and DS17 involved in things coming and going and honestly it just slipped my mind and I was unprepared....we have always had a bad relationship and I send "Grandma" cards anyway....but this year for ONCE I forgot & didn't do it in time....THIS email with the flight is the first one i have received. It has nothing to do with ME...it's just that she wants to see my kids and have us see their new home they are moving into in Sept. This "trip" is totally out of the blue......
Chan, isn't that when you have your October trip booked?? Can you use that as an excuse??
No...I booked for Oct 19....and that is looking like a bummer no go anyway at this point.
I forgot to find about the YC..lol i have so much on my mind lol
But giving it another thought I guess I really want to see the MK fireworks.
It is funny when people who don't understand how expensive Disney is see those prices!. Mickey D's 99 cent menu all the way!
I guess I should pick the Poly, it would be easier...
I can't stop thinking of when we stayed on the Contemp's 14th floor.
You get to look straight ahead at the fireworks not up at them!
I don't think there are many restaurants left to pick from.
I've got Ohana, Narcoossees, 1900 Park, Whispering Canyan, Californial Grill, Tony's, GF Cafe and Cinderella's Table...
Mike, in our standard YC room on teh 3rd floor last July I could see the fireworks perfectly. Our room faced the International Gateway....I wonder if the 5th floor rooms above are all concierge...(thinking you want club level?) The thing is a lot of the Illuminations are down lower and I could only see the sky stuff. But it was neat to sit out on the balcony and watch what I could. YC is nice. I have not ever cared to try their concierge level though. We just book standard there. Siobhan just returned from a Poly/YC cl split. She liked YC a lot. (Tete)
Lives4Disney, was it your family that stayed at the GF during Easter last year? I just realized that my DS7 spring break in 2009 falls Easter week. We have never been during Peak Season. We are doing a 3 day cruise at the end of the week. It will also be for his birthday. I asked him where he wanted to stay. He wants to stay at the Poly again. I might convince him to change his mind if I tell him about the Easter Egg Hunt at the GF. Can you tell me about it? Is it just for guests of the GF? Any information about Easter Time at the GF and WDW is greatly appreciated? Do you know if
AAA discounts are available during this time? We are celebrating my birthday in December at the GF and I can't wait. It has been about 2 years since we last stayed there. Thanks again, Angela
Hi!! Yes....we did have this past Easter at the GF. I posted egg hunt pics on the GF faq thread toward the front....I will get the link for you. It was lots of fun. My daughters really enjoyed Easter there. THey agreed they'd do it again. It was a hit! The parks were HIDEOUSLY crowded though. The GF was a nice reprieve from it and we spent a lot of time at the GF. The egg hunt IS just for GF guests. It started promptly at 9 am...there were characters out for pics and autographs...they had muffins, daniish and coffee and juice out. It was decorated with balloons and looked very festive. I really enjoyed it. Then we zipped over for brunch at Epcot and that was nice too....expensive, but nice. We are not big bfast eaters so it wasn't worth the cost for us, but it was a nice experience.

They also do egg hunts throughout Epcot. You can get a ticket for a time to return and be included in that hunt. There was a "tea party" in the Odyssee building - same thing..get a ticket to return....all free. It was a neat thing and the flower and garden fest was going on, too. It made Epcot very Eastery and festive.
I paid rack rate and the cost was awful...but we did a split stay betwn the Swan and GF to balance it out and we enjoy the split stays anyway. I am not sure what they have for Easter at the Poly. We just had fun at the GF, Epcot and then back to the GF.
After we left the GF egg hunt, they did have crafts and games, and other fun scheduled....we just had other plans. It was HOT, too....about 90+ degrees...so the kids wanted to leave Epcot & swim. It was a BUSY crowded time of year but the GF didn't feel busy and we had a very relaxing visit.
The monorails kept breaking down though!!!!! TOO MUCH. The CMs said they were over worked and the monorails could not keep up with the demands on them. We wound up walking from the TTC to the GF on our last day, haha...because we had a flight to catch and the monorails just died and we all had to exit. At least it was LOVELY weather.
OK...I am going crazy trying to find those Easter pics....WHERE the heck are they???? Kelly do you know?????
I will find them!!
Kristin!! Were you at Mimi's today???!?!?!? We were there late...about 1:30 or so...I had that Asian Chopped Salad...but I did get the wontons on top.

Yum! I love that salad! Good recommendation...it's been the only thing I order there now.
We shopped all afternoon...it was a fun time. We had our orange jeep wrangler..it's easy to spot..with hot pink Animal on the antenna...so if you see that car - IT's US!!!!!
