I got news today too:rolleyes1 ....OK, haven't talked to my mom since Mother's Day..well before it actually. SHe emailed me that she booked my and my daughters a flight to Tucson over Columbus Day weekend. NO notice...no discussison....SHE JUST BOOKED IT. She is a MEGA manipulator. She obviously checked the kids' school calender, too...because they won't miss a day of school. She's so thoughtful.:( :worried: :rotfl:

Have a great day....we are off to run around and eat lunch at Mimis Cafe!!

Chan:)

WOW, Channing how do you deal with something like that?
I'm thinking what I would do? Maybe say the kids or me have plans already?

Mike- Did you find out about YC??

If not- I would probably go Poly lagoon view CL. No doubt you will be able to see the fireworks from that room and I think you said you could get all of your nights. No more switching! Maybe RPC will open up and hopefully you will get that MK view room.

Thanks for the kind words Mike! I know that in the end I will feel much better. There is always those what if's and mine was what if this is his last Christmas and I was selfish and decided to leave during the holidays. I know it is really not being selfish but I know that is how I would feel. His dad is a wonderful man (it is just his wife that drives me nutso!!)

Let me tell you...they are going to be a HOOT at WDW. If they see the prices of the meals they are probably going to pass out! The other day they were going to drive to Missouri for a military reunion. They were crabbing about gas prices and MIL said they would just pack their lunch so they did not have to stop at a restaurant and eat!! I just started laughing. It is more expensive to pack sandwhiches anymore than to stop at McDonalds for a burger and fries!

If we decide downtown girls...I may take the train up. Just let me know!

(good way to have lots of drinks and not have to drive home!)

I forgot to find about the YC..lol i have so much on my mind lol

But giving it another thought I guess I really want to see the MK fireworks.

It is funny when people who don't understand how expensive Disney is see those prices!. Mickey D's 99 cent menu all the way!

I guess I should pick the Poly, it would be easier...
I can't stop thinking of when we stayed on the Contemp's 14th floor.

You get to look straight ahead at the fireworks not up at them!

I don't think there are many restaurants left to pick from.
I've got Ohana, Narcoossees, 1900 Park, Whispering Canyan, Californial Grill, Tony's, GF Cafe and Cinderella's Table...

I don't know if I would want to switch rooms at the CR though.... it is such a touch call (Book Poly now for all 3 or book CR and hope for the third night to open on the Atrium club...) I don't envy you at all right now!!!!!!!!! (except for the RPC part of course!!)

So back in January we signed up for a special promo on our Disney Visa that would get us $100 bonus dollars. Well it never showed up!!!! I called Chase today and they are putting a request through to find out why they haven't posted, but ***!!! What if I forgot and never followed through?

Lives4Disney, was it your family that stayed at the GF during Easter last year? I just realized that my DS7 spring break in 2009 falls Easter week. We have never been during Peak Season. We are doing a 3 day cruise at the end of the week. It will also be for his birthday. I asked him where he wanted to stay. He wants to stay at the Poly again. I might convince him to change his mind if I tell him about the Easter Egg Hunt at the GF. Can you tell me about it? Is it just for guests of the GF? Any information about Easter Time at the GF and WDW is greatly appreciated? Do you know if AAA discounts are available during this time? We are celebrating my birthday in December at the GF and I can't wait. It has been about 2 years since we last stayed there. Thanks again, Angela

I don't know.....she emailed me the flight info this morning....I am just sitting on it. I really don't know. It is SO AGGRAVATING. Seriously....she was MAD because I didn't send her a Mothers Day card and hasn't called or emailed since then. I didn't because i was home bound for the whole week prior with a super sick Jojo on the sofa and sleeping and DH working late and DS17 involved in things coming and going and honestly it just slipped my mind and I was unprepared....we have always had a bad relationship and I send "Grandma" cards anyway....but this year for ONCE I forgot & didn't do it in time....THIS email with the flight is the first one i have received. It has nothing to do with ME...it's just that she wants to see my kids and have us see their new home they are moving into in Sept. This "trip" is totally out of the blue......

Chan, isn't that when you have your October trip booked?? Can you use that as an excuse??

No...I booked for Oct 19....and that is looking like a bummer no go anyway at this point.:(

Mike, in our standard YC room on teh 3rd floor last July I could see the fireworks perfectly. Our room faced the International Gateway....I wonder if the 5th floor rooms above are all concierge...(thinking you want club level?) The thing is a lot of the Illuminations are down lower and I could only see the sky stuff. But it was neat to sit out on the balcony and watch what I could. YC is nice. I have not ever cared to try their concierge level though. We just book standard there. Siobhan just returned from a Poly/YC cl split. She liked YC a lot. (Tete)

Hi!! Yes....we did have this past Easter at the GF. I posted egg hunt pics on the GF faq thread toward the front....I will get the link for you. It was lots of fun. My daughters really enjoyed Easter there. THey agreed they'd do it again. It was a hit! The parks were HIDEOUSLY crowded though. The GF was a nice reprieve from it and we spent a lot of time at the GF. The egg hunt IS just for GF guests. It started promptly at 9 am...there were characters out for pics and autographs...they had muffins, daniish and coffee and juice out. It was decorated with balloons and looked very festive. I really enjoyed it. Then we zipped over for brunch at Epcot and that was nice too....expensive, but nice. We are not big bfast eaters so it wasn't worth the cost for us, but it was a nice experience. ::yes:: They also do egg hunts throughout Epcot. You can get a ticket for a time to return and be included in that hunt. There was a "tea party" in the Odyssee building - same thing..get a ticket to return....all free. It was a neat thing and the flower and garden fest was going on, too. It made Epcot very Eastery and festive.

I paid rack rate and the cost was awful...but we did a split stay betwn the Swan and GF to balance it out and we enjoy the split stays anyway. I am not sure what they have for Easter at the Poly. We just had fun at the GF, Epcot and then back to the GF.

After we left the GF egg hunt, they did have crafts and games, and other fun scheduled....we just had other plans. It was HOT, too....about 90+ degrees...so the kids wanted to leave Epcot & swim. It was a BUSY crowded time of year but the GF didn't feel busy and we had a very relaxing visit.

The monorails kept breaking down though!!!!! TOO MUCH. The CMs said they were over worked and the monorails could not keep up with the demands on them. We wound up walking from the TTC to the GF on our last day, haha...because we had a flight to catch and the monorails just died and we all had to exit. At least it was LOVELY weather. ::yes::

OK...I am going crazy trying to find those Easter pics....WHERE the heck are they???? Kelly do you know?????

I will find them!!

Kristin!! Were you at Mimi's today???!?!?!? We were there late...about 1:30 or so...I had that Asian Chopped Salad...but I did get the wontons on top.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Yum! I love that salad! Good recommendation...it's been the only thing I order there now.

We shopped all afternoon...it was a fun time. We had our orange jeep wrangler..it's easy to spot..with hot pink Animal on the antenna...so if you see that car - IT's US!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was going to vote for BWI, but I read it's a no go. I would do Poly for ease of not having to move two times. Plus, I really wouldn't want to go from Atrium Club to the garden. (Yuck, IMO!)

Chan, that is crappy about your mom. Sounds like something my dad would do if we didn't live in the same city. Family sucks. :confused3

We didn't end up over there until close to 4 pm so we ate dinner there instead of lunch. Of course I had that salad!! :rotfl2: I saw a Jeep when we pulled in by Old Navy and I raced over to it, but it was red not orange so I knew it wasn't you guys :(

I am just scanning posts to catch up, so I don't know if this helps!!

But you can see Illuminations at EPCOT from the Yachtsman Steakhouse!!! Its not a room view, but an alternate way to see Illuminations!!:goodvibes

Kelly - good luck today. Sounds like it might be a tough one. I hope everything goes OK.

Mandy! I was up late....I stopped chit chat at 11:20 ish and then went up to bed...DH was sleeping so I watched Disney on the Travel Channel til 1 am.:rotfl: I must have had too much Diet Coke....

Well, my pool water went south. :headache: We have a 4 and 6 yr old neighbor kids that come and swim every day with Jojo....well. Nobody takes bathroom breaks but ME.:rotfl: :rotfl: I remind them and they don't go. THEN come to find out that Zack forgot to put sticks in the skimmers  and it went from slightly cloudy to foggy FAST. So....we won't be swimming for a couple days.:( Sucko. Hopefully it will clear up soon. I hate when this happens...it wouldn't have if DS had been up on teh chlorine sticks. At least it is looking like rain now....that makes no pool a little easier to take.

I seriously do not know what to say to my mother re the flight SHE just up and booked. :headache: And then she sent Lucy a big fat check for her bday....so obviously she is expecting a phone call. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 At least a THANK YOU for the money call. Colin said I should just ask, "Did I miss something"??? or something casual like that. SHE will get TOTALLY defensive. NO matter what I say she will give me the silent treatment on the phone...so I talk myself into a circle or SHE WILL get all hurt and gloomy. Believe me...you haven't felt guilt until you've met my mom. She is the queen.

Well.....talk to ya later I know.:rotfl:

Chan

Morning Gals....TGIF!!!

Channing :)

Thank you very much. I think if my DS sees the pictures, he will change his mind. I am really worried about the crowds. :scared1: I miss being able to travel during the slow season. I have pulled him out the week after Thanksgiving for the last 2 years. I am planning to do the same this year. So I will have to just go with the flow on his spring break. I just wished that Easter was in March again this year. Thanks again for all your info. Angela
