Having a GRAND time - The Official GF Chat Thread PART 2

I am trying to decide whether to purchase park tickets this summer, to avoid the annual price increase, for our trip in 2009.

On one hand, this seems the logical things to do bacause it will save money on 5 adult tickets. But on the other hand, if I buy now and then Disney comes out with a deal on tickets or a package, I will not be able to take advantage of it.

How do all of you frequent visitors handle your vacation - package or room only?

Then there is the AP debate - is it worth it? We would have to purchase 1 PAP to be even with the 10 day hoppers with water parks for the rest of the family. I know that I should not count on AP discounts for RPC but then I have to figure in the other discounts through AP like DDE etc and the possibility of an AP rate.

Ugh my head spins when I try to figure it all out  . How do you frequent visitors stay sane ;)

Howdy, everyone! I am back from my little weekend getaway, and I apologize for the long post, but I have to catch up with everyone!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :) Did you catch Lost last night? I never expected to see John Lock in the casket! It was a really good show last night.:thumbsup2
Ahhh! I have been out of town since Thurs. afternoon and I missed it!!! It's my fav show, and I have it on the DVR to watch tonight after DD goes to bed!
Good morning gals! Well it is the dreaded recital weekend.:headache:
Don't get me wrong...I love to see my girls dress up and dance but this is my first year with 2 of them. Doing hair, changing outfits etc. It is going to be CRAZY.
DD's first recital is next week and I am doing looking forward to it. Her hair in her photo looked terrible when I fixed it and it is not long enough for a ballet bun, so I need to practice before the actual recital :rolleyes1 ... I don't want the poor kid to look like a dork!
I did go and buy a pair of Aerosole shoes for WDW. I never had a pair of Aerosoles. I guess I always thought they were old lady shoes! :rotfl2: But I saw a cute pair of leather flip flops in the window and the sign "on sale" got me! They are really comfy and the sales woman said there's no break in time and they won't rub against your toes. I hope so. Now I just need a cute pedicure.

Mare
Mare, I wore Aerosoles almost identical to those to Europe a few summers ago and they were fantastic!
I always used to bring a Coach swingpack...little cross body bag. That was perfect for me. Now I am more into Vera Bradley so I always bring a variety of her Hipsters. I LOVE them...they are lightweight and perfect size for all my essentials & a bit larger than the Coach swingpacks. Sometimes I just bring my wonderful backpack with tons of crap in it (Kelly knows:rotfl: ) because it gets hard to downsize and I am such a dork I always buy Disney keyrings and that backpack weighs a ton due to all my keyrings. WE also have Pal Mickey hanging on there with a carabiner clip. They are conversation pieces haha...:rotfl: (those are basically the only souvies I buy myself!)

Chan
Lesley, I agree with Chan on the Coach swingpack. I also have a Kipling bag that is larger and will hold my camera, and things for DD like a bottle of water or juice and wipes. Since you have little ones, you may need something a big larger because I would imagine you need to carry around some "supplies" for them in the park!
My princess: 2 and princess: 3 are playing Fancy Nancy this morning. Anybody ever read that book to their little girls? They are so cute and what they are dressing up in reminds me of Punky Brewster! :rotfl: My DD3 found a baby Lulu hat that is part if a fall outfit and has worn it every where! It is cute when worn with the stuff that matches but not on it's own, they look like hobos! Gotta love dress up time! :cutie:
Mandy, we LOVE Fancy Nancy in our house. DD is 5 and it is a favorite of hers! I know what you mean about the hobo look though! :rotfl2:

We usually do a package and never seem to get any discounts and pay rack rate and get the dining plan. We do get park hoppers, but no Water Parks option. I am usually good at finding deals on everything I buy, but with Disney, I always seem to miss out on the discounts. Hopefully, someone a little more savvy will answer your questions!

Hi, Andrea! Glad you had a nice getwaway!!

Garada...we are ap holders....we are also having ticket dilemmas...my ap is good thru march but the family's are up July 1 (arrival day!)...I would have liked to buy a 12 or 13 day MYW but they only have 10 day tickets!!!! UGH! so the price for a 10 day plus the 3 day is more or close to rewnewing the APs....which I really didn't want to do becuase they are sick of WDW (yes, crazy I know) and want the next Disney trip to be DisneyLAND.....ugh. Love it there, too but still......so looks like the APs will be renewed anyway.:( It's not so bad, but it's a lot more money and for DS17 will be a total waste of cash. I might just buy the 10 day MYW hopper and have 2 out of park days.....:confused3 That would be tough though!

::cop: There's some chat going on where it shouldn't be....where are the "Hall monitors" when you need them?:rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl: ::cop:

LOL
