Well I was going to see Speed Racer or Indy ( i could use the sleep actually ::yes:: ) or Narnia this week....

Maybe we'll go see Iron Man :confused3 ...anyone see that?

IRONMAN is a thumbs up! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 You have to see that one!!!! I only went to be nice to my husband...I didn't want to see it AT ALL but it was really good. We both totally enjoyed it.:cool1:

I loved Speed as a kid and the movie is really neat, but the plot is along the lines of the Speed I used to watch as a 6 yr old, haha....if you can get past that and just enjoy Speed for the visuals and for the sake of retro, you'll be good! There was nobody sleeping in Speed! Jojo is 8 and she LOVED it. DH and I liked it. JO went home and watched all our Speed DVDs. She is a new fan and she is hooked. :rotfl:

Ya...where'd he go? Probably sitting in his little hidey hole office at the Crusty Crab OR the Weenie Hut counting his beer bottles.

Well, we just saw Indiana JOnes. It was good but I actually fell asleep for about 10 minutes when the aliens come ion the scene haha...you know they've thrown in the towel on the plot when the aliens arrive. I woke up for the end luckily. Other than my little nappy time it was pretty good. Well DH was disappointed in it, but Jojo enjoyed it.

I just switched my flight to MCO again.:rotfl: :rotfl: We are flying in on July 1 - DH and Lucy's bday. Birthday dinner that night at Brown Derby.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 LOVE that place.:goodvibes

:)

Chan -- you are making my mouth water -- I love the Cobb and grapefruit cake, and I don't even eat grapefruit. Now where am I going to get that today? whine, whine ;)

Hi, everyone. Weekend was great. My BIL and SIL came on Saturday, and we went to eat at a new restaurant, Red Robin, and saw Indiana Jones. Sunday was church and spent the afternoon at the new playground our neighborhood built. Yesterday, we went swimming at our neighborhood pool (in Atlanta almost all neighborhoods have a private pool and tennis courts). They just switched it from Chlorine to the salt water treatment, and it was so much better. Then we had friends over for a cookout last night.

Today we've spent getting into the summer routine (they have to do 1 worksheet a day and read me a chapter from a book). This is more for Rees (to keep him caught up), but I can't have 1 do it and not the other 2. This afternoon I'm taking BK to sign up for cheerleading for the fall, and then they have gymnastics. If the weather holds off, I'll take them to the pool after dinner. Tomorrow I have my preschool Teacher's luncheon. We are supposed to get a lot of rain, so I guess we'll skip the pool. Thursday we're going to one of the free summer movies, playing, pool. Summer is here!!!

Have a great day, y'all!

I wish I could say we did something fun but we didnt. I worked all weekend LOL and my DH got called into work yesterday and was there for hours.

Hi gals! (and mike!)

Busy weekend for us. DS graduated from preschool on Friday morning :worried: They grow up so fast! Then we had 6 yards of mulch delivered that needed to be spread, annuals got planted etc. We saw Indy Jones on Saturday night- it was pretty good but I also could have done without the aliens :faint: Now I am just trying to get caught up on mail etc. I can't believe we have been back almost a whole week and I feel like it was yesterday! I am so behind! And DS has 3 soccer games this week to make up for all the rained out games this season :( I promise to be back chatting soon!

Question for those who have booked Swan or Dolphin: what is the best way to get a good rate? TA? How do you book an AP rate? Thanks for any help!

Hey!! You're talking to ME!!!:rotfl:

Have you joined SPG?? Starwood Preferred Guest? YOu do it online and it's free and easy. You can earn points for staying there to use for furture stays in Westins or (gasp) Sheratons or W resorts.

I usually book AAA rates online at SPG.com. You have to either call for an AP rate or sometimes DU has them listed on their Swan/Dolphin ressie page here. I dont' bother w/AP rates...I think AAA are as good or better and more prevalent throughout the year. They also have nurse and teacher and govt rates which are probalby better than AAA....you have to phone for these rates and ressies. A TA can book S/D for ya, too. Not sure re the special nrs, teacher/gvt rates though.

I also hve the Starwood Amex which earns me 1 pt for every dollar spent. Our Easter stay we got 3 nights at the Swan free....LOL actually for $30,000. whoohoo. I don't think I will be wasting my points on the Swan/Dlphn again....I could have spent them at the Royal Hawaiian. lol....there are many Starwood properties that start at 3000 pts/night.

Kristin! How can you get thru the days without us??!?!:rotfl: :rotfl: See ya around here soon!

Chan :)

Still waiting on your TR, missy!:rotfl: We thought you ran off with Jack!

Thanks for the tips on Swan/Dolphin. DH is having a panic attack about the cost of RPC... If it comes down to cancelling or staying elsewhere and still going... then I will pick elsewhere. I'll be sad, but at least I'll be at Disney. But I don't know if the SD nurse rate would be any cheaper than the 30% off bounceback I have. And I could still transfer that to my TA! :-)

thanks, Dawn! I am scared of that stuff though!!! I have a horrible stomach so even taking Advil pushes it for me. I have some Tylenol Arthritis I am gonna try later too. ugh...it feels better with heat and then I start moving and it goes bad on me. I sat in the car with the seat warmers on for a LONG time waiting to pick up JO after school and it felt healed until I shopped at Target and then tried to get back in and almost couldn't lift my leg up into the car!!:rotfl: :rotfl: getting old rots. At least it was cold out here today so I could stand the bun warmer.

Hey...I'm waiting for an email too. :confused3 Somebody's behind....

Ya...I want to hear how fabulous the Pop was. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No, really. I do.:listen:

Your S/D rate would be around $200....could be as low as $160 (possible with the nurse or etc rate) or high as $250 with AAA or AP. That is my estimate...:rotfl:

Well....we really like the S/D area. HOw about a split stay...maybe 3/3? That helps with the Epcot/MGM area and then devote all our GF time to MK and AK.

The boardwalk area is fun in the evenings...and on the beach at YC for anybody they have a huge movie screen at night and show Disney movies...they also do a marshmallow roast over a fire on the beach....there are some fun things going on over there.

That's what we just did. 5 at CR MK View, and 4 at the BC. We loved staying in the Epcot area. This trip will only be 4 nights if we go, so split is out. It's just such a short trip, that we're debating waiting when we can go for 7 or 8 nights again. I start my new job in August, so I'm not sure if I'll get the dates off too or if I'm out of luck.

I know how ya feel Denise. Dh told me this weekend if it did not stop raining and we did not get all of our crops planted...I will be back to a GV room which I am fine with but I am hoping to still get to stay RPC. We still have a little time (he will start to panic around the 3 week of June or so)but it is cold and rainy here today again. YUCK!!:(

and...I am banking on some decent airline prices with Southwest. (cross your fingers) Right now the prices are coming in around $500 or more RT non-stop which I will only do with kids.

We shall see...everything is so darn expensive right now.

Just to go, I'd do 2 Swan and 3 GF. On arrival day just don't unpack. Live out of suitcases. :thumbsup2 WE usually do and it works out best for us. Everybody has their own bag. You'll be off having fun anyway...it's just to sleep there. then slow it down for a few nights at GF. I've done the 2 nighter before....I've even done one and then split to the GF. :rotfl: I would do it!!! it's worth it!!! I gag every time I plan a GF RPC stay. I was gagging and cancelling this July one. I had it cancelled, haha....then rebooked, shortened lengthened...you name it. Now I am committed to 6 nts but have 7 booked right now. I am pondering on that last night. :rotfl: :rotfl: It's just so wonderful. I have only had regrets once....I won't say which trip.

fingers crossed for RPC, but either way you'll love the GF at Xmas time.:goodvibes

That is heinous. :( I was looking at our October dates and it's about $400 pp rt. No thanks. :rolleyes1

This July trip I am paying almost 3X what I usually pay for SWA to MCO in July. It's unreal. I have had a Ding for the past THREE YEARS and we've paid no more than $600 for all 5 of us RT!!!

I am still looking for my DING!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I hope something works out, V, and you get a good rate.

Chan

Vanessa~I have been watching all of the rain down south...sorry for you guys..hopefully some sunshine your way

Yeah I hear you about the airfare...483 right now in Nov...no way..I have a free ticket on SW so thats what we will be flying here. I dont think its going to get better either!
Channing~no dings lately!

Hi everyone!

Had our winter jackets on here today in ChiTown after the air conditioning was on yesterday!! Met with DS's teacher about games and water balloons for the first grade picnic next week......that's if it doesn't snow! :worried: One daughter graduates pre-k tomorrow as well. WHAT will she wear??

Channing, I hope the back is getting better? Back injuries are HORRIBLE! Have you tried those heat patches you stick on?

We fly Southwest as well. I'm really concerned about these airfares too!
