It's almost like Disney is trying to get people to give up on the special order cakes. Maybe with all their wedding business they have more than they can handle and can't afford to spend hours on the phone and in the kitchen creating elaborate cakes for guests

I agree, but they should just discontinue the service or only make the little ones you can order at the podium ... How disappointing to spend time planning a cake and then not get it the way you envisioned/imagined! And we all have read the countless stories of the cake not being right or not being at the restaurant, etc., etc. That's why I didn't order a cake for DD's birthday for last Feb. GF did deliver a wonderful white chocolate mickey and cookies though ... Yum. Yum.

Does SWA have curside check-in at MCO? We always use a skycap when we get off the ME bus at the airport, but they only bring our bags to the line and then we are left there to drag them through the line until we check in ...... It is always a big hassle to drag the bags through the line (I overpack) and it takes FOREVER. It seems like I am missing something here ...


I am anxious to hear how Kristin felt about POP!!!

Yes, they do have curbside check-in at MCO. It's the last stop at the end of their terminal on the departures level.

Even when we just have one suitcase a piece (and then usually just return the car together and bring our suitcases in ourseles), we go outside and use a skycap to check our bags. The lines inside for SWA are horrendous! One time, DH got at the end of that line, while I went outside to see what the skycap situation was. The woman that was behind DH when I went to get him endeed up being on our flight - and she barely made it to the gate in time! That's my little secret for flying SWA - go outside and use their skycaps.

The only time we used ME, my mom ended up having a bum ankle, and we had to get wheelchair support. Yep, the guy from ME just took us to the inside line, which at that time wasn't too bad because it was all kiosks if all you needed to do was print your luggage tags (don't know if that's the case any longer). We just prefer the flexibility of having our own car, so we haven't used ME again. Unlike most - I ride public transportation to work almost every day - the last thing I want to do on my vacation is have to deal with buses.

Yea! Our super TA just got us RPC for Dec 9th, so we're all set! Dec 9-14 in RPC sounds just heavenly.

So we are leaving in less than 3 weeks! What should I be doing to get ready? I've already started a box to ship down with diapers, swim diapers, etc etc. I guess I should make a packing list or something. I am usually such a procrastinator and end up staying up late packing the night before. I want to be ahead of the game this time!!!

There is a great packing and to do list on mousesavers.com I would print that out and use it. You have the guide books, your dining is all set, you the VIP guides all booked. I dont think you have much to worry about.

Well even if they do, no biggie IMO....I didn't sneak the pic out of their album, they posted it on the cake thread. They seemed to like it so it's water under the bridge for them. It's an alright cake, but come on...with the fab pastry chefs they have at the GF they should be turning out WOW cakes. I only posted THIS specific pic as an example because it seemed so fitting....I was just about to get myself motivated to deal with the GF for a bday cake and then I got this email and "GF Bakery" caught my eye so I FLEW over to see the latest pic of a GF Bakery cake. THEY posted the pic.....like it or hate it, they shared a pic of their cake and the fact that they got it from the GF.

HEy! I was gonna answer you, but Lindsay already did. We do that same thing at Midway sometimes....park in the garage and then go outside to get checked in. It's usually so fast out there. So, really I just don't see SWA being difficult. The stuff goes into a limo or car, gets checked in quick and you're done! It's a snap and so much better than getting ripped off by AA or UA.


LOL!! I hate those rainy summer vacation days!!!! Good luck! It only just started! We have til June 9. Then my peaceful days are no more.

That's how we do it when we check in at the New Orleans airport. Outside, but there was a line outside last time too. LOL. I think SWA is just very very busy for MSY to MCO flights because they offer so many and a lot of them are nonstop.

Yeah, the rain is a bummer. We can only do so many projects involving glitter and beads in one day.

OK...I just called all the doofs CHEAP on the tipping thread. I said if you don't offer a tip you're cheap. I think I might need some back up here, haha.

PLEASE....Mr. CRabs is over there giving advice and these poor housekeepers cleaning up peoples messes day after day are going to get shafted. He is saying housekeeping is a nontipped position and they can lose their jobs for accepting tips. I have NEVER not had a tip taken. EVER. AND it's the same ladies that are there stay after stay so they aren't losing their jobs. How bogus and I think Mr. Crabs has a chip on his shoulder for being underpaid maybe???

I have to go for a walk....neighbor hounding me. So I am scared to see the damage I've done when I get back.

SCHOOL IS OUT!!! All the moms met all the kids from our street at the bus and had a huge Silly String fight (the kids and I were covered). We are now headed to her Brownie troop ice cream party at the park. I cried on and off at work. I am really going to miss the people I work with. Oh, and I had the strangest and potentially dangerous encounter with the Pizza Hut driver. He got verbally abusive, raised his hands at me, yelled, called names... the Church staff all heard and came running and had to escort him out. It was wild.

I need to get working on planning ADRs etc. We are doing DXDDP again, and the 180 window is in 2 weeks. But I am thrilled to have all the days!
