I AM NOT GOING BACK IN THAT THREAD!!! (haha yeah right!) I tried to give you some support and the guy went all wackadoo on my post.

I know...they are FREAKS over there. :scared:

That guy dosn't scare me..... He has never messed with a PMSing women. :rotfl:

LOL!!! YOU GO GIRL!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I need a bit of PMS to get me in the right frame of mind to call L and order my cake.:rotfl:

I KNEW IT! I knew the person that didn't tip was from the UK. They don't tip waitstaff there, either. It's just a different system. BUT I know a concierge CM that recieved a $250 tip from a UK guest. So....it is all a state of mind. There is no comparison to what's customary in the UK and what is here... and now they are trying to throw that in there. I am just done wth that thread. It's ugly. You can't make people open up their wallets if they are cheap. Stingy, mean, greedy, whatever. THey can rationalize not tipping all they want to themselves but IMO it comes across as cheap.

Denise
, OK...sorry but I am kind of laughing here. The Pizza Hut guy??:rotfl: :rotfl: Sounds like a total wack job.

Vanessa! Yay!! Glad you got all your days too!!!:thumbsup2

I thought I had a plan together but now we have some friends coming down on the 26th instead of the 27th so that changes a few things.

I am in a room only for now. I thought I could get the DDE and use that for 20% off but just read it is not good for Xmas Eve, Xmas, New Years Eve and New Years day and that is 4 out of the 10 days we are there. :confused3

Ok, about the Pizza Hut guy. We ordered pizza for our class party. The PH delivery guy calls and is lost  and has no idea where we are. He says I am wrong, I'm an idiot, I have the wrong address, his GPS doesn't show it... so I say where are you? He was literally sitting next to the church and had no idea. :sad2: So I call the PH and speak to the manager about how rude he is, belligerent, calling me names. Manager comps the pizza. I tell the delivery guy and he is FURIOUS (no tip). I finally say I'm going to have to escort you out of the school. he is yelling, calling me names, saying it's my fault I didn't put a church on the order on-line (I did). We were walking down the hall and he goes the wrong way. I put my hand on the middle of his back (teacher habit) to guide him down the other hall. He stops, starts shaking his fists at me and yelling about not touching him, very threatening. He was totally out of control. All the church admin hear and come out. They make sure he leaves. He flies out of the parking lot (with kids outside). Call back and talk to the manager. Manager very apologetic and says he'll take care of it. I was really scared. The guy was big and didn't speak English very well. I know I shouldn't have touched his back, but it was an innocent habit (like I guide the kids). I seriously thought he was going to deck me. :headache: Between that, being very sad (cried a lot) over leaving my job and friends, and the kids last day, I am exhausted and headed to bed soon.

But the good news is that it is SUMMER VACATION!!

Hey all you lovely GF ladies.....I am back and although I don't need it here on this thread I am putting on my flame suit for my Poly review!! Why oh why didn't I listen to Channing???
First I will say that we went to YC from the 10-16 and had an amazing time! The room was great and we had a view of SAB and could see the fireworks at night. The lounge was wonderful this time. They seemed to have more evening choices with at least two hot items a night. Breakfast was good, too but I have NO will power and if you put a donut in front of me I have a real hard time saying no. I only made 3 ADRs before the trip (Chef Mickey was a must on DS's birthday) but the staff got me into every restaurant I wanted, including CRT for breakfast. :goodvibes The kids did Sand Castle Club and LOVED it! They went back a second time because they liked it that much! I met Allison at 1900 and we had a nice chat! It is always fun to meet in person!:goodvibes I loved our first week and wish we hadn't switched. On Friday, we moved to Poly in a MK view because CL wasn't available. At check-in they told me I was upgraded to CL but the room wasn't ready. Off we went for the day and returned around 4 and our room still wasn't ready. We went to the lounge and I wish someone had a video of my face! :scared1: It was a mad house. I may come off snooty but it certainly was not the lounges that I am used to! My husband described it as a house party. One woman caught my eye because she had a bathing suit on and sand all over her bottom and actually sat down in a chair  There was a group of people in the back that had the beers lined up and were belching out loud. :faint: Finally our room was ready and we were assigned 2515. I knew right away that we didn't have a balcony being on the second floor but I was willing to sacrifice for the view. We got to the room and it was a lovely view of palm trees!:( I went down to the desk and explained that although I was happy with the upgrade, a view of the castle was more important to me. (Esp after seeing the chaotic lounge) To make a long story short, a lovely CM asked if we wouldn't mind staying in that room tonight and they would move us to the 3rd floor tomorrow. Sure great until I found out we had to do the check out thing again and recheck in at 3. So from 11-3 I was room-less again. After we were in our new room, things got better but not like at GF or YC. THe view was dead on to the castle and I was excited to watch Wishes from the balcony until I found out the sound system was down so no music. :confused3 The rooms are redone but you can tell they are old. My DH's favorite was the silver strip around the doom. It looked so tacky. The pool was so crowded that you couldn't move and so we eventually started going to the quiet pool. We chose to eat at Ohana this time instead of Kona and although it was good, I like Kona better. The staff downstairs was nice and friendly and sent the kids stuffed animals and a card signed from the Fab 5. I did a load of laundry during an extended rain shower and it was done very quickly! It didn't take a full drying cycle to get them completely dry! I will also say that the food offerings were unbelievable! That bread in the AM is to die for and the ribs at night were sooo good. We ate most nights at the lounge because there was sooo much to eat. Sorry this is long winded but I have to get it off my chest! Channing from now on I will listen to you- no Poly!! It was just rubbing it in our face to see the GF everyday. It was calling my name.....

:confused3

I think the DDE is only about $75 per year. That 20% adds up quickly (it includes alcohol! :cool1: ) so even for your remaining 6 days it would probably be well worth it. Mine always pays for itself the first trip we take after getting it b/c we go to Jiko A LOT and to other Signature rest. plus Kona and Sci Fi regularly and b/c you can use it at so many different places :thumbsup2 Plus, we never go off-property to eat. Of course, staying concierge cuts out meals here and there and I don't know how big your family is but just going w/ my DD11 I always do more than break even. :teacher:

We have the AP plus DXDDP plan (rack rate), but I don't have to buy tickets. I may change to just room and DDE, but right now this will work. I'm waiting to see if the days we are there are considered Holiday Pricing. If so, the DXDDP may be a better deal for us.

tete01830,

Thanks for the great review! It's honest reviews that really help us to choose where we want to stay next time we go to WDW. (It's a long flight for us, so we dont go often and dont want a less than great experience when we do!).

We've loved the YC and the GF, too! Had been considering Poly CL, but after asking for reviews and reading the answers we really think we want to try GF RPC instead.

... No flames here!...

:cutie:

Siobhan!! OMG! Well that was a great upgrade. :goodvibes Sorry it was kind of a bust.:guilty: We've stayed at the Poly CL hmm....five times and have had your experience every time. We've given it up. Not worth trying again. :sad2: I LOVE the "House party" description....TOTALLY FITS!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I can picture it so clearly! :rotfl2: The Poly is different alright. Yes, the one good thing is that food!:goodvibes Oh...I love that pineapple bread and that POG ? juice!! Their evening offerings are so yummy too....the problem is that mega obnoxious lounge crowd. Get rid of them and it would be awesome.:rotfl: Oh...about the YC, how nice - what did you think of the CL there? I have a standard room booked because I haven't heard terrific reviews of their CL.....so give it to me. It sounds like it's really nice.:thumbsup2 I hear they have donuts??!!?!? I wish GF did!! My kids would be thrilled. I am kinda sick of that same old GF food. IN YEARS it's the same stuff!!! ugh. And really there is nothing there that is to die for IMO. NOt like that poly bread and juice.:rotfl: I really like the YC its my second fave. Sorry I was right about the Poly.:guilty:

Denise...OMG...but what??? You didn't TIP?:rotfl: :rotfl: JUst kidding...long story....Safety Mom put an end to it.:rotfl: What happened to you sounds pretty creepy. There are some freaks out there. Just have to read the DIs to be assured it's true.

Dawn....Wow! That is neat. :) No we have never really watched that show. I saw America's Next Top Model when they had that really pretty blond blue eyed girl with RP on a couple years ago. She was great, too! When she said she has RP it was almost a thrill....we knew she had something but that was wild to have that in common. It was neat to see somebody that Lucy could relate to ahving RP & being successful. We know nobody else with this disease and it's so rare. :confused3

Hey Kelly....I cant believe my DD lost her first tooth today...I wanted her to loose it in WDW but she waited til we got home...

Breakfast was good, too but I have NO will power and if you put a donut in front of me I have a real hard time saying no.

MMM ... Donuts ... I think we should all write the GF and let them know they need to have donuts in RPC ... I ate so many cheese danish last time. :rotfl: Seriously, like 3 every morning. Nothing else really floated my boat for breakfast. I love love LOVE that pineapple bread at the Poly. We never stayed there, but I've had it at the Spirit of Aloha show and Ohana for breakfast.

On a side note, and seeing how no one on this thread seems to like anything as much as the GF, an AKL 2 bedroom suite is available for our dates in Feb. and is cheaper than 2 RPC rooms ... So I asked my mom how she would feel about a spacious suite, and she looked at me like I was nuts ... I showed her pictures even. "Still not the GF," she told me. :rotfl: She's right. Just nothing like it. :goodvibes

tete01830 Sorry to hear you didn't like the Polynesian. Sounds like you would've been better off telling them "No thanks" to the CL upgrade. Next time you'll know to stay at GF...

arbonnette As much as I love the GF, I love AKL too, and I'll bet a 2-bedroom suite there would be amazing. The only suite I've stayed in there was a 1-bedroom and it was delightful. But AKL certainly has a completely different theme and atmosphere and is not everyone's cup of tea.

SWA does not participate in the resort airline check-in, but for us, it is the only airline with a direct flight from New Orleans to MCO, so we deal with it. Plus, it's the cheapest.

Channing, by the way, I had NO IDEA it was so easy to change your SWA flights. I always thought I would have to call, deal with someone, blah, blah, blah ... This is very good to know!!!

Trying to catch up on this thread... been nasty sick!

I agree Andrea about the SWA out of New Orleans. We flew Delta in Feb and it was such a pain in the butt having a lay over in atlanta with 3 kids
We were so beat tired on the last leg home the wait seemed to take forever!!! I am flying SWA this time with the direct flight... no resort airline check in but I picked the direct flight over lay over as Savannah and I will be flying alone.

Morning Gals....

Welcome back Brook~we missed you...glad you are feeling better:goodvibes

its beautiful here in Chicago...going to plant some flowers

Love the new "board" i'll be around tonight if anyone wants to chat!

That is funny, Andrea. Sometimes it's fun and nice to try something different but the wonderful GF makes it hard! We have just had the most fabulous stays at the Grand & the super CMs make it that way for us. I think they are one in a milliion.

Ya...I like those cheese danish too. I also like the little poundcake type coffe cakes that look like muffins but have apricot in them. That's about it...sometimes they have little cinnamin rolls. They need KKs!!! I don't know why the CR and YC/BC have them and not the GF. Weird. The Poly has that yummy bread, but the GF really doesn't have a special bfast treat.:confused3 Besides that I think they need a CHANGE in their whole menu!! Geeze....it's been the same stuff for years.

Well....we won the soccer game. It's a nice day...going to do some flowers, wash the car (well dh is gonna wash his) and then see Indiana Jones. Oh...have to grocery shop too....bummer!

Have a fun day, gals!

Chan:)
