Lindsay- I saw your post on the waitlist thread. I am waiting for BCV Dec 30-31. I am hoping but just not sure if it will happen. I think DVC is sold out already for New Years.

We have always gone in early Dec. (if staying DVC, we've always done so at SSR, our home), and I'm really glad we're going mid-Dec. this year instead! I'm excited to potentially try another DVC resort, and we already know how much we like AKL. I'm a bit sad to potentially give up the CL reservation, but that is my bargaining chip with DH to keep our Wonder cruise and possibly day or two at WDW afterwards over Labor Day. I'd rather have that extra week's vacation in Sept. than just 4 nights on the club level in Dec. And we're both in agreement that the RPC portion of our Dec. trip has got to stay.

The CL was for him primarily anyways, because he would really love to do the Sunrise Safari. We'll do it another time, though - give us something to look forward to.

i just called Disney dining and had NO trouble booking ressies AT ALL for my dates....Vonnie had done a bunch for me but I added more.

Hi guys! Well I got Dec 24-28 in RPC. (just need to try and get Dec 23 but I figure something will come along. No such luck on a Deluxe room but I am going to just check daily...maybe something will show up.

Well send PD that Dec 9 opens up for me in RPC too! Right now I have a GV for the 1st night, but I don't want to change rooms.

Yes, he told me today you were coming later in December. I wish we'd be there at the same time! I think with my working, a Christmas/NY trip to the GF may become an annual event. I'll have to try to come later next year to see you.

Dec 9th is very popular for some reason. I am a DVC member and it seems like a ton of people are waiting for this night to open up....I wonder why.

I was suprised I could not get Dec 23. It seems funny that I could get Xmas Eve and Xmas and not the 23rd. I guess maybe people want to be home for the holidays but I figured many would be checking out the 23rd. Oh well..I am not too worried yet. I will just have to fly out the 24th if nothing comes available. We are already moving over to BCV for the second half of our trip and I do not want to have to move again. Hoping for the 23rd but nothing showed up today. I will be checking WDW website daily I am sure.

Gosh, those 3 are probably my very favorite restaurants in all of WDW. If I had to rank, Cali Grill would edge to the top, but then it would be a toss up between the other 2 - although Narc's might win that one due to the location. You really can't go wrong!



Yes, it is - I've noticed that too over on the DVC forum. We're thinking of using points we weren't anticipating having this year and staying at AKV for the 1st part of our trip in Dec. (instead of AKL CL). My waitlist came through in just one day for mid-December, while people are waiting and waiting for early Dec. dates to open up. Yikes!

You could do the Wildlife Discovery Excursion. The WDE is available to any club level guest. I've never been on the Sunrise Safari so can't compare them, but they seem to be very much alike. With the WDE you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn and you don't get breakfast. You go in a 16 passenger van and are out on the savanna for about an hour. They pull off the road several times so you have a closer look at the animals. There is an animal handler on board with a lot of information and hands on exhibits, elephant hair, an ostrich egg, rhino horn, giraffe poo, I passed on that one There may have been other things that I don't remember.

Hey! I was running around all day. My cooliolio Mexican Talavera pots shattered so I wanted to find some new ones....I have the flowers but no pots. NO LUCK...


BUT...I went to Marshalls and found the cutest pair of Kate Spade sunglasses!!!! New for vacation!!! AND I found they have H2O Spa products!! I bought quite a few things. I bought some body scrub type stuff, mineral salt? shaving cream, shampoo, and something else.... and a pizza cutter and some coffee syrup....sugar free of course. It was a good day.

I had to drive kids everywhere so it was nice to be out and kill time and shop.

Hey, guys....V told me I could post on the DIS about her dumb guests (we had a long talk and lots of laughs because she's had a day full ) - I said NO I WOULDN"T DO THAT and she was like OH NO GO AHEAD ....Kelly I have to tell you...YOu will laugh. MOney does not buy smarts. These were platinum plan people. She was wondering how they could afford that??!!?!?

They missed their fireworks cruise because they stood out on the "Boat dock" by Narcoosees for an hour and a half waiting for the boat to come. she said one came and left, then another came and left, then another....but none stopped and told us they were the fireworks boat. (duh...they were the transportation from MK,GF,Poly boats)

So then at 9:50 she came up to V's desk and asked her about her fireworks boat....V was like...Ma'am you were supposed to meet the boat in our MARINA. In the GF marina. The lady says well can I still go? V told her she missed the fireworks but she said let me see if I can book you another for tomorrow night. so LUCKILY she did. She told the lady and she said she would leave her a message about where to meet the boat & she said if they come to her desk she will escort them out to the boat - a DETAILED message and the time etc. So anyway....that night rolls around and it's now 8:30. V was like I don't know WHAT made me think of this or the guests but she just happened to phone their room to check on them. Well, they were in their room. V siad Are you ready for the cruise?? You need to get down to the marina and meet the boat. THey were like "duh....huh?" Vonnie said didn't you get my messages?? What messages??? Vonnie toldthem she left messages and so did a VIP person for them....well the guest says..."Oh...is that what that red light on the phone means? We have messages?" this is all in a very strong, slow southern drawl. Vonnie is spazzing out becuase they are about to MISS ANOTHER CRUISE!!! so she says are you dressed??? Yes. Can you get down here to my desk and I will personally escort you out to the boat??? OK......so she is waiting and 10 min goes by. They don't come. She calls again and there is no answer, she looks up and htey have just left their room and grandma is on a scooter!!!! They are in no hurry at all. Just dinking down the hall. V ran up there gunned the scooter and hauled a@@ to get them out to the boat. She said she was out of breath trying to get these slowky pokeys to hurry up!!!! She told the captain she didn't care HOW he did it but to get them to the middle of the lake so they see some fireworks. He laughed.

Well I am off to bed...I don't sleep well when DH is gone. Every noise or every time my dog rolls over I wake up.

People sometimes think if they spend enough money they should have their hand held the entire way.

As we all know...you cannot do that at WDW. You have to do your own research. Yes-IPO will make your ressies and assist you as needed but they cannot be with you throughout the entire day making sure you get to where you are going. You can spend $25,000 on a trip to WDW and if you do not know a thing...you are SOL...unless of course you get a VIP guide every minute of every day.

I remember my first trip to WDW. I was so overwhelmed. As long as you take it slow and do some research...you will be fine. If you think spending a lot of money is going to get you this...you are mistaken. It just will not happen!

They should not be able to blame V or GF because they are ignorant! My rant for the day!

You can spend $25,000 on a trip to WDW and if you do not know a thing...you are SOL...unless of course you get a VIP guide every minute of every day.

The problem is that people as numb as the ones Chan is talking about wouldn't know about the VIP guides...it sounds like they would have sat in that room all night waiting...

Waiting for what? Who knows? Maybe they thought a helicopter was going to land in their room and fly them to the boat... They paid a lot of money for this trip you know!

People are crazy. I guess if you are totally clueless & know nobody that's been to WDW you'd have no idea how much planning and preparation would be needed for a good trip.

Even back when we first started going, I was so stoked - the first thing I did was buy the Birnbaum book. Each trip I buy more books!! I don't even read them but I HAVE TO HAVE THEM!!!! I can't imagine planning a big expensive WDW trip and not looking at ANYTHING before hand....if only for fun. KWIM?

I NEED THEM ...they are my security books or something. Same thing with TGM....I hate that site. I keep renewing. Why? (I am a total disney dork). It takes me one hour to read it all and then I am bored with it and it's always the SAME OLD STUFF.....ugh. I do use his best days though. I think his are far more accurate than the Unofficial Guides which are bogus.

I am serious. I have every disney book and they sit around but I need them...before I had the DIS I would scour over them though.

The Dis is more fun than a book but if people are so Disneydumb they don't buy a travel book they sure won't know about the DIS.
