What a very magical memory! I'm so glad you guys liked 1900. We really did too. And, I'm also glad you liked Narcoossee's. It's one of our favorite places.

Ditto! :worship:
Vanessa -- when are you guys at the Grand in December?

Lindsay -- I'm glad you had a great time with your mother. Can't wait to see the pics!

So true !!

Those pics Peggy posted were great. I assume you picked some type of Cindy cake...:)

Well the cake did some doing
It is going to be a bit on the plain side... nothing fancy. Sugar free icing is not easy to decorate with! Peggy did find some cindy themed cake toppers she is going to put on the top so it will go along with the theme but for ME having a sugar free plain cake is better than Savannah eating her birthday cake all alone :sad1:

Had the sugar thing not been an issue peggy linked us to the most PERFECT cake in the world for this set up. It was a cake in the shape of a pillow with a cake shaped glass slipper on the pillow. It was breathtaking...really... and would have been perfect but I needed sugar free :rolleyes1

My husband's birthday is in 2 weeks, I have found the perfect cake (Imaging blue frosting not pink!)
He is seriously getting a cake just like this!!! I love it!!!

Thank god he knows I love him and has a great sense of humor ;)

:welcome: Home, Lindsay and Denise!

Denise How cool that your kids got that special attention from Lady Tremain! When you said the lobby I didn't realize you meant THE lobby! It's things like that they will never forget and make Disney so much more magical! She (LT) was really bowled over by my kids and asked how old they were. We had a nice dialog (in character) about how them. She asked me how many servants I needed to help dress my daughters and when I told her I had none she said that step children were good house hold helpers :rotfl: She told me that I was lucky and I would have no problem finding them a prince and said there was one there but he was picky. She asked if DS5 was interested in dancing with one of her daughters and when he said no she huffed and asked if we had met them he said yes and she said well you must have met the one in blue b/c if you had met the other two you would not refuse. She was a hoot! :lmao:

We meet Minnie Mouse in March behind her house and I "knew" her. We stood in that line and I watched her forever and she was typical greet- pose- bye bye with everyone but when it was our turn she ran over to us before we could even approach her. She loved all over my girls and gave me a big hug. My Lilly is a lover and kissed her a dozen times and she posed my girls for so many picutes. Then as the handler was moving us on she took my sisters camera from her and gave it to the character handler and waved to everyone behind us on line and took us by the hand and walked us out of the gazebo and to a bench down a little walkway and sat down with my girls and motioned for me to sit by her. We probably sat a good 3-4 minuets with her on the bench and she went carzy over all our "Minnie" crocs, and played with dd's hair bows. It was super special. She kept on motioning for a autograph book which we forgot in the room. She then had to get up and go rest and the handler came right back out and rushed over to us as we were walking away and said Minnie said it was nice to see you again Mandy and she thinks your children are beautiful! So that's how I knew I knew her. Probably a HS friend. MANY of my HS buds live in O town and work for WDW but I don't have much contact with them anymore. The coolest thing is the csame thing happened to me when I was little.

When I was 2 I went to WDW for the first time and my parents had a friend (at the time they had no clue) that played Mickey Mouse. They have pictures of him parading me all over the Magic kingdom and getting a balloon for me. My parent say it went on fro about 30 minuets. They got a phone cal a few days later from the friend who said he heard they had a fun time at the MK. Crazy! I wish I remembered that! No wonder I love the Mouse so much!

Mandy - meant to say I was glad to hear you went to the podcast meet. After all that happened, I figured I would pass since my mom wouldn't have really been in to it, but I would have loved to meet you and the podcast crew. I am still so sad and shocked about Bob's passing. I wasn't on the boards early last week what with getting ready to leave, but did briefly get on Wednesday morning to see why last week's podcast wasn't up. When I saw Pete's post, I almost started crying. That is one of my biggest fears - losing a loved one so unexpectedly. My heart and prayers go out to all of them.

I've also enjoyed yours and others posts on your church lives and views. DH is actually an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist faith, but does not pastor as a vocation any longer - when we married though, I was a preacher's wife  :scared1: :rotfl: . I grew up Methodist, and the church DH pastored for a while was in a little small town in west TX, and needless to say they didn't have progressive ideas on women's roles in the church. I never became a member due to that and other things, and I was quite the talk for all the church ladies. :rolleyes1 That church about did us in, so we decided it was best to get out of that situation for our marriage. Circumstances dictated that DH ended up doing something else (at least for now) as a vocation, and we love the Bible church we go to now. Our church has great outreach, but I'd love to hear about the ministry you started - sounds very interesting, and something I could see being so meaningful! :goodvibes

Hey Lindsay! I am glad you had a great trip! I wish you could have come to the meet but I understand. My sister joined me and when I mentioned bringing a camera so I could take pictures with the crew she was horrified. She doesn't get it and thinks I'm crazy for wanting to meet people I "listen too" so I understand you not wanting to drag your mom to it :rotfl:

It was fun and sad at teh same time and Kevin, John, Corey, and Julie are so nice! John and Kevin came and sat with us for about an hour and we chatted and Kevin shared so many Bob stories, it was great and you could tell they all really wanted to include us and share special tome to remember Bob with fans. I also met Diana, Bob's wife, and she was so sweet. I also chatted with Julie and she was great! She was excited that I lived close and said she really hoped to be able to meet up in the park so she could meet my kids in person and asked me to PM her a link to my blog. I felt like we had been friends forever!

I will PM you about the Diapers and Dinner ministry.

Mandy

Good morning girls~

Mandy~You must still be in bed. (the nurse outfit makes for a long night;)

Marci~ We arrive on Dec 23. We stay at the GF until 12/28 and then move over to the BCV until Jan 3. We are booked in SL right now. I keep going back and forth on this. I am going to see how my lab rat Brook enjoys the GF SL and go from there.:rotfl:

Kelly~:wave2:

Channing~ Hope Jojo is better today:flower3:

Dawn~ Pink eye gone??

I am busy with work. I have had 2 death cases and now a serious head injury case come in the past three weeks. My word of wisdom for today "SLOW DOWN WHILE DRIVING!! The third case was actually a guy who fell from a ladder. Not fun work!

Hope everyone has a good day. It is raining which means no landscapers, which means no patio for Mother's Day. I guess my guests will have to sit in the grass (even though we have very little) I am beginning to think instead of building we should have bought a home with the yard completed. Whatta pain!

Lindsay- Thanks for the trip report and Welcome Back...glad you had a good time!!!:)

I have stayed at every deluxe more than once and club level at each one. The IPO seem to work best when you work with one person. When I am dealing with the GF I want Calvin. I would even get emails from him saying I will be off the next 2 days so you wont hear from me.

I agree - Calvin is wonderful! He was so helpful and gracious last year, and was always on top of things. He even had to put some pressure on L to get back with me re: an intimate dinner, and did what he could there. I've already been in contact with him re: this December - we don't need much, but it's nice to know he's there! :thumbsup2

the cakes are going down hill there and its to bad

eta we should all write in about the all mistakes they have made in the 6 months
its not good

I agree, and I plan to. I actually still need to write re: some things I experienced on our December trip (not pertaining to the GF) - I have a feeling Disney is going to be sick of hearing from me!

Lindsay, Welcome home. I'm sorry we didn't get the chance to meet in person this trip. I'm glad you had a good time!

I am, too, but from checking on your thread a couple of times, it sounds like you guys were so busy (but having so much fun!). I didn't want to interrupt that. :goodvibes I'm glad you guys had such a magical trip!! Maybe we can work it out in December - we'll be there 12/11-15 at AKL CL and 12/15-19 at the GF RPC!

:welcome: Home, Lindsay and Denise!

What a great story about your interaction with Minnie! That had to be so special. :goodvibes

The meet sounded like a special time. I'm sure it was good for eveyone there - what strength Diana has to attend that just a day after burying Bob. Hopefully, it was somewhat healing for her.

Yes, my mom probably would have gone, but thought it a little strange. ;) We had breakfast with another DIS friend and her daughter our last morning, and although she enjoyed meeting them, I think she was apprehensive of that, too. Now, if DH had been with me, he probably would have wanted to go to the podcast meet - it's the only one he'll listen to with me because he enjoys a good Pete rant. He was very sad to hear about Bawb, too. :sad1:

Yikes - that doesn't sound like fun work. :scared: What do you do again?

Good luck with the landscaping and MD prep! We had torrential rains early yesterday (I got soaked from the knees down walking from the train to my office  - how's that for a welcome back?!), and they're expecting possible severe weather again this afternoon. I've been really uneasy this year and I'm ready for spring and all it's bad weather to be OVER.

Well, got to get to work - have a good morning!

;)

Actually I have been up for a while and began on my PP but DD2 Threw up twice and I have been cleaning up curddled milk chunks..... fun :thumbsup2

I have to get DS started on his school work, start the laundry and then i'm off to catchup..... Thank goodness for laptops, I'm probably gonna spend a lot of time on the bathroom floor with DD so when and if I post anymore just remember I'm portable and it could be from anywhere! :rotfl: I'm off now to start laundry...... :laundy:

I was handling catastrophic property claims, fires, tornado and hurricane losses.

Since jan 1- I started handling catastrophic work comp claims. Beginning to realize that this is very depressing. It has broke my heart so far. The one guy was 29 and had three children under the age of 5. Very sad when you have to sit down with these people.

The property stuff was too but I was most generaly a hero because I was helping them get their lives back together. I know some insurance companies are not like that but I work for the best around. We pay what we owe and more...that is the motto. I was just starting to feel too old to be running around on ladders etc. (very tiring)

I have done this for 10 plus years and have an office in my home which is great with the kiddos and all of their running.

how about these cakes

carmadillo_medium.jpg

captain20morgan202_thumb.jpg

The first one reminds me of the cake in Steel Magnolias! :rotfl:

Mandy - sorry to hear that DD2 is under the weather. Good luck! :wizard:

Vanessa - that sounds like hard work, but I'm sure the families still appreciate a compassionate agent, and it sounds like your co. is unlike most.

Love the cakes Kelly!!!

I love Steel Magnolias. I am probably gonna be a mom like Sally Field and an old lady like Weezer!!

Mandy- Hope you have a good day. Sick kids are just not fun!

Don't feel bad. She doesn't know what she's missing! And cake with mom is better than cake alone!

My husband's birthday is in 2 weeks, I have found the perfect cake (Imaging blue frosting not pink!)
He is seriously getting a cake just like this!!! I love it!!!

Thank god he knows I love him and has a great sense of humor ;)

Hilarious! I should do something like that for my husband's birthday in 2010!

Mandy -- I hope your DD is feeling better ASAP and that no one else gets it. My DS9 had that a few weeks ago and I got it as well. :sad2:

The first one reminds me of the cake in Steel Magnolias! :rotfl:
Me too!!

I love that movie - so many hilarious lines from it :rotfl:

Like when Dolly Parton says,
"In a good shoe I wear a size 6, but a 7 feels so good, I buy an 8!"
