For this upcoming January, it was either WDW or Atlantis. It would be 7 nights in Atlantis or 10 in WDW. Plus Atlantis does not include meals and I have heard that they charge RIDICULOUS surcharges on their food. WDW with the DDP was our choice!

The Atlantis DOES offer several different meal plans to choose from. I would never stay there without a meal plan.

When we went to visit for the day, we passed one restaurant and saw that a hamburger was $19 -without cheese, fries extra! We went and ate aboard the ship instead! :rotfl:

I had won $150 in a slot machine and was not planning on spending it on lunch! :rotfl2:

We love, love, love DCL. Heading to our 3rd one this October. My kids are 16 and 14 and they love the cruise as much as WDW. I like it more because it is so relaxing! Of course, sitting in the RPC lounge with a Bailey's can be pretty relaxing too!:thumbsup2

Atlantis' meal plans only include breakfast and dinner.... so lunch each day would be a million dollars for us! I was really, REALLY happy with the DDP on this Disney trip. I think when you have a big family, it is the most cost effective option (as I roll my eyes at myself because who am I kidding.... Lesley and "cost-effective" do NOT go hand in hand!!!!!) :rotfl:

Oh and I wanted to add that we will try Atlantis when the boys are big enough for the water slides. Aidan would go absolutely ape chit if he saw the slides and couldn't go on them..... it would be a disaster!

Does anyone know when Southwest will release its next block of flights? they are only available now until early Jan.

Lesley I would love to hear about the Royal Family suite with RCCL as we (Me, DH, DS8 DD6) have booked a 14nt cruise on the Indepedence round the Med next July. We have done many cruises before with Princess, P&O, Celebrity but never RCCL.

We were very lucky to get this suite as they are only supposed to sell it to families of 5 or more.

We have not cruised for a few years unless you count Wishes and Illuminations cruises:rotfl:

ohhhhh I wanted to add ...

I think the Poly should close and do a rehab to decorate the resort with THAT type of tropical theme.... all light, airy and beachy looking!!! Wouldn't the poly be hands down the prettiest resort if they went with THAT kind of tropical theme rather than the Brady bunch thing they have going now?

Who would NOT love having a tropical room that looked like this!!!

When I hear tropical theme this is what comes to mind.... not that 1960's tacky crap :rotfl2:

I think If the poly went with that type of theme it could bypass the GF in beauty :rolleyes1

Wow how did you get the room? They usually don't give out the RFS to families of 4 or less until right before sailing. We were booked in the RFS on Independence for January on a B2B but had to cancel b/c of the new age policy. We were in 8417 (I think?!) The suite is very nice.... I will see if I can pull up pictures and post them. The only downside is that it is a looooooong walk from the elevators to the aft. If you are the type of person who runs back to the room for things all the time, it is a pain but it's not TOO bad. the room itself is really nice. and the balcony is HUGE! the second bedroom has two twin beds and then two more twin beds that come down from the ceiling if you need them. You also will have access to the concierge lounge which is GREAT. It really is a nice room!

Hey everyone
That place that B posted looks awesome!!

i am hoping summer 2010 .... or mardi gras 2010....

We wanted to go this upcoming mardi gras but with Dave's new work schedule there is no way he can make it. I don't like going abroad without my hubby. I know its the US virgin islands but.... well .... its still abroad to me and I want my man with me ... in case some pirate tries to kidnap me and make me his love slave :rolleyes1

I finally got off my lazy duff and cleaned the house tonight. Too many days looking at it and I was ready to lay down and become part of the laundry pile. It feels good to have it done!

Hope everyone had a good day.

Night All :)

Good morning gals! Glad you got your house cleaned Shelli. I have a TON of laundry to do but we have gymnastics and a ball game today so I am not sure what is actually going to get done if anything!

Have a great day!:flower3:

Good Morning Everyone!!

We're off the Mets game today!! Hopefully the 8th win in row!! We have awesome seats behind home plate!! Its just a 3:55 game, I hope Natalie will be alright in the sun for awhile. If not we'll have to take a few walks around, which would actually be nice since Shea is coming down soon.

I get to pack soon, so I am getting excited!! If everyone would stop wearing clothes that need to be ironed that would even be nicer!!:goodvibes
