Having a GRAND time - the NEW Official GF Chat Thread PART 4

Hi, GF Gals!

Long time, no see. I can't even remember the last time I was around. Life was crazy back in '08, but is significantly less crazy now - I was laid off around Christmas - the day after getting back from vacation at WDW and the GF! I can't say I miss my job in the least and have a lovely little severrance package, so just trying to figure out now what to do next. Of course, in the meantime, it means I can DIS more often!

I hope all of you are well! I see there was some GF revelry going on - sounds like such a blast! I hope the resort is still standing.

I miss the GF. We had a lovely stay in December - we even got a super duper upgrade to RPC, after having downgraded our ressie to a GV room due to all the uncertainties with the economy. It was a wonderful surprise and treat - was kind of the last "calm before the storm." The summer used to be one of my really busy times at work, but now I'm eyeing perhaps a return trip in mid-to-late July with the 4/3 deal. Going at that time of year would definitely necessitate a lot of pool/lounge time, and even though we like the Poly, too, I think the GF has the better pool for our needs. Decisions and dreams to make.

Looking forward to jumping back into the fray!

Thanks, it's good to be seen. Your phone call still rates up there as one of the better things that has happened to me recently. No turret room (but we checked in later than I wanted to, so wasn't terribly surprised), but were still on the Clarenden Level with that lovely view. Finally got to meet Vonnie, too! She's a doll - she also helped me straighten out an ornament snafu that really occurred on AKV's time but wasn't resolved by the time we got to the GF. She's a keeper.

I know - like a Disney addiction wasn't bad and expensive enough - then you have to throw the GF on top of it. I've always been a big hotel/resort snob/lover, though - the hotel really makes or breaks the vacation IMO. And now that we travel to WDW fairly frequently, we really do spend so much more time at the resort, so it factors in BIG.

Kristin-I'm about to go mix up a cheesecake for tomorrow night. It is my DH's favorite dessert. I've had the cream cheese sitting out for a while now, so hopefully it will not crack and I will open the oven door like you said.

I did my shopping...and a teensy quick clean up. My heart is not in that. And I am not THAT good a mom.... I bought some take and bake pizzas from Costco and brownie bites....some other munchies...all bought. I am no Kristin.

Deb, I hate Walmart too. I have only been in it a couple of times. I only go there if I need something that I can't find anywhere else. The parking lot at our Walmart is like that too, another reason I don't like to go near there. Yes, us Poly gals need to stick together. There aren't many of us here.
