Kristen: Have you taken DS to see the HDDR? My DS4 just mentioned it again this morning on the way to school. He loved it and wants to see it again. I don't think it's going to happen this trip (too much planned already) but we'll see it again soon. Surprisingly, the food is actual good! :thumbsup2

Wendy......We've done the family thing twice but never just Disney :rolleyes1. The last 2 spring breaks we rented a house that slept 14/16 (we had 13 the first time and only 8 the second time as my sister and BIL had no desire to go again :sad2:). The first time was ok because it was nice to all be together and do a vacation as a family....but my BIL complained the entire time about how expensive Orlando/Disney is and why would anyone keep coming back :headache:. And money is not an issue for them.....so it wasn't like they were stretching it by going....so it made for a kind of touchy week but we all survived . Then last year it was just the 8 of us that are going in June....and that trip was much more relaxed :goodvibes. I love my sister and BIL but DON'T knock Disney to me :rotfl: :rotfl:. But I agree....extended family trips can be a blast!!!!! I know this trip is going to be so fun because everyone that is going has a laid back attitude and is easy going :). Plus they're already looking at me on what we'll be doing since none of them have ever been before and we've been going for 7 years ;). I'm just so excited for them because they are going to LOVE the GF (as are we).....but it will be a real treat for them having never even spent time at Disney :wizard:. I wouldn't be surprised if after this trip they ask to go back with us in December :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Mare.......We have been wanting to try HDDR.....do you recommend it??? We won't do it in June but I'm considering it for our December trip :confused3. We did the Luau in Sept. '07 and despite MANY poor reviews, we actually thought the food was great as was the show :rolleyes1. It's not something we'll do again and again but we did enjoy ourselves :thumbsup2.

Deb :upsidedow

HI Ladies...... I had to do a drive by post this morning about out my Gators!

I have been busy the past few days. I sent the monitor power cord to work with my DH :rotfl: I told him I would not get anything done if the computer was on and i don't have enough will power to not turn it on. I got lots of laundry folded and put away and did lots of cleaning that i had been looking past..... Now I am free to post!

Well, we had a huge party last night complete with bon fire and outdoor screen to watch the game and LOTS of great food!!! I am so glad our team won! And yes Channing, my sister is happy! WE ARE ALL HAPPY! Her Gator Hummer was decked out with flags and magnets and she said today when she went to get lunch she got lots of honks and people yelling "GO GATORS" She is the ultimate fan!

Oh, and our kids were up so late that we did not send our kids to school :rolleyes1 Bad parents...... :rotfl:

My sister took today off work and lots of people at the party did not go in, :rotfl: DH had to because there is a 2 million $$$ playground opening next weekend and there is a last min issues he had to go and meet with the construction crews about. Also he discovered WED that about 50 hours worth of work on his computer was corrupt and he had to start all over, so he has that stress looming. :sad2: He did go in late becasue we did not get in bed till 2 am.

Tonight DH and DS are going camping with our RA's at church. They are now camping inside the church ministry center b/c it is gonna get down to 47 and that is too cold for camping for Floridians thin blood! SO I need to go finish packing DS. If i don't make sure they both have clean undies and socks then no one will!

Hi Kristin! Nice to see you posting again! Glad you got a code and are over your post trip funk! Two trips to look froward to sounds like lots of fun! Sounds like lots of planning for so many!

Mandy!

We went to HDDR in 2006 with the whole family. It was cute, but we hated the food. I am glad we saw it, but I wouldn't want to do it twice, KWIM?

Here is what I am thinking for meals (over 8 days):
LTT (lunch)
Coral Reef (dinner)
Crystal Palace (Bday breakfast)
Tony's Town Square (Bday lunch) DS loves the calamari here :thumbsup2
T-Rex(bday dinner)
Play N Dine (breakfast)
Sci Fi (lunch)
Mama Melrose (dinner)
Teppan Edo (lunch)- AP holders can only get 10% if we do lunch, right?? they don't take DDE
Garden Grille (dinner) I can't believe this is the only stinkin' place to see Chip and Dale!
CRT (dinner)
Tusker House (breakfast)
RainForest Cafe (dinner) Passholders get 10% here too, right?
Tutto Italia (lunch)
Le Cellier (dinner)- I know you gals don't care for it but we like it. We were VERY underwhelmed by Yachtsman in December :sad2:
Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Tony's (lunch- again- but late so we can see the parade from the terrace I hope!)

Notice the lack of CS places? :rotfl: We can eat breakfast at Pop if we need to, but I am BOYCOTTING CS meals! I don't want to deal with getting food and finding a table in those crowds. I want someone to wait on me like the princess I am princess:

Deb~ I'm not Mare, but we went to the HDDR in March and LOVED IT! The food is good (Fresh Baked Bread, Tossed Green Salad, Baked Beans, Homestyle Fried Chicken, Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs, Corn on the cob, and Strawberry Shortcake) but the show is GREAT! It is so funny, and you can get into it.... I have some great pictures of my kids, DS6 and DD5 really liked it and loved that you could wave your napkin over your head and play the washboards :thumbsup2 It was a nice break for them b/c we did Narc, Cali Grill, Jiko, ect..... so we went the night there was a P&P party. The kids still talk about it and sing HOOP DE DOO, HOOP DE DOO!!

Oh, and it was all you can drink beer and sangria and the tip is included in the price! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I maybe really late in seeing this, but Southwest's site says they are opening flights to 8-14 on 1/29.

Hope this helps the summer travelers!

Mandy.....Thanks for your input on HDDR.....DH has been saying we need to try it so maybe we'll give it a try in December :goodvibes. I have read reports where people say the food is awesome :thumbsup2. We are also thinking of doing the DxDDP in December so we can do alot of signature restaurants along with that show ;). If we didn't do the 2TS places the deluxe plan would be way too much food for us :scared:.

Kristin....Chan will be happy to see SWA extending their flight schedule since her return date in June (if she keeps that ressie :rolleyes1) is 6/27 and the cut off right now is 6/26 :headache:. Thanks for the info :thumbsup2.

Afternoon everyone, I hope all of you have had a good day so far. I got my hair cut this morning and have been messing around the house this afternoon.

What do you think of Victoria and Albert's or Citricos? DH and I have been looking at the menus and we are split. He wants one, I want another. I think I may have to book both or just give in to his wishes and let him pick this one, I get everything else I want at WDW so maybe I'll let him choose this one restaurant. Thanks - Lisa.

Deb, definitely see it!!! The show was really good, so we didn't care about the lousy food. I just wouldn't see it twice, KWIM? And it is a good use of those DxDDP credits. We would have been beyond stuffed if we didn't eat at so many siggie dinners too!

Sorry, Lisa, but we haven't tried either of them. I would like to try Citricos in December, but DH wants Narcoosees TWICE!!

Deb :)

I agree DEB! WE loved the DxDD plan because we do all 2 credit places every night except one and breakfast buffets for breakfast. It would be too much food if we tried to eat three meal a day, i would be sick

Kristin~ Sounds like lots of great food! YUM! I agree, we liked doing all TS meals...... we save the CS for when we go over just for the day! It defiantly felt like a vacation being served and not having to fight for a table..... especially for us with 7 people, oy!! There are never tables big enough for us!!

everyone interested in a boston meet send me your email in a PM
PM sent
Ok...I'm really wanting that code email (40%), so I went back and changed my profile to allow all sorts of email from the "family of Disney companies"...
maybe THAT will work! I just gotta have it...might even book a second trip down this year if I do...:rolleyes1
I'm waiting too. Some people are getting 2 pincodes and we don't get any.:confused3

Maxie..
.I just read you are still waiting.....did you try and just call cro? I did read about people getting lucky and getting to use the discount without the code. Has anybody here tried that??
Hey...I bet you guys will enjoy Oprah today........LOL

TTYL!
Chan
My awesome TA checked. Still no go.:sad2: Oprah comes on at 4 here, I'll have to check it out. Happy Birthday to JoJo. Hope she has a great party.:bday:

Hello, I have been reading this board for a while. My new years resolution was to jump in and start posting. From reading everyones posts we stayed RPC last October and loved it. We are leaving Sunday and staying RPC again. Hopefully the snow we are expecting in New Jersey tomorrow will not affect our Sunday am flight. We were lucky on Monday and received an email with the 40% pincode and were able to save on our trip. That meant we had to book another trip to RPC end of Sept with the pincode.

Welcome, congrats on the pincode.:woohoo:

BlueSkies: WTG on the pincode.:woohoo: The pincode gods are still overlooking me, but I'm still hopeful.:rotfl2:

Kristin: Thanks, I am taking antibiotics and lots of over the counter stuff. Something should work.

Mandy: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Yea Gaters.

Sheli:
Love the spring count down ticker.

Deb: We are getting snow tomorrow. Right now they are saying 5-10 inches. We love the HDDR. The food is pretty good and the show is very funny. It isn't something we do every trip, but have been several times.

70 days until spring.
Thanks for the well wishes. I am feeling a little better today. The antibiotics must be starting to work.

Mandy, I know, it is an INSANE amount of food, but I am mostly doing all the lunches to get out of the midday heat. Even if we just eat an appy and a dessert at least we are away from the sun, KWIM?

BTW, I am finally uploading trip pics, so stay tuned!!

Hi! All!! I AM SO BEHIND!! My house IS company clean now....I have to get ready for the party, but I picked up the cake and it is darling. It's like a Disney cake!!!(lets hope it tastes better than a Disney Minnie cake.....:scared1: but I KNOW it will!) I have to go back and catch up....but I wanted to post a couple pics....Here's Jo opening her super awesome divalicious American Girl Doll chair sent to her by a wickedly cool secret somebody...and she loves it....and here is the cake.....

I love the cake!

Tell Jo the "S" girls send birthday wishes :goodvibes
party: :bday: party:

Deb: HDDR is something to see. We've gone twice and only went this time because of the DxDDP. Now that my son enjoyed it, we might go back next trip. He's still singing the song too Mandy!! The show is like a goofy Carol Burnett Variety show, my DS4 laughed at every corny joke. You have to do shows and 2TS to use up the meal credits. We did the Luau years ago (2000) and didn't care for it, but it could have changed since then.:confused3

Lisa: Can't help you either, never been to those places. I'd love to try V&A, but the menu just doesn't appeal to me. DH and I LOVE Narcoossee's!! Citricos is a huge favorite of Kevin on the Podcast, he really ravs about it. Maybe listening to his review will help you decide?

Kristen: Your ADRs look great! :thumbsup2 Chip and Dale are also at the Cape May Cafe Bkfst, we enjoyed it but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. KWIM?

Still debating if we should head out to the country. Snow flakes are starting to fall here and there, nothing major yet. I really don't want to be stuck in the country should a blizzard hit! :headache: Don't know what to do??
