party: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!!! party:

I hope all you gals and Marvel have a FANTASTIC 2009 :cool1: :cool1:

Maxie.......I haven't seen a correct posting time in a long time :sad2:. I thought it was just my computer :rotfl: :rotfl:. I didn't make it until midnight either.....I was close but decided to go to bed :rolleyes1. DH and both DSs did :goodvibes. I was surprised DH made it because he's usually falling asleep on the couch before the news :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. The boys......they're teens and have been staying up way past midnight since break started :cool2:.....so it was nothing to them . Monday is going to be a NIGHTMARE :scared1: !!!!

Mare......I said the same thing last night watching the ball drop (I was still up since it was 11:00 our time :rolleyes1).........I told DH those people are CRAZY to stand out there in the FREEZING COLD :cold:. Have fun at the country house this weekend :flower3:. See you back here to chat on Monday :goodvibes.

Hi Kristin, BlueSKies, Chan, Kelly, Shel, Annette, Vanessa, Amy, Mandy, Siobhan, Dawn, Marvel, Wendy, Lcaemom and anyone else I may be forgetting :).

Deb :upsidedow

Maxie-Someone on GMA this morning, mentioned the bad weather that the North was having and that there is 78 days until spring, I thought about you and your countdown.

Dawn-I'm sorry that you are sick, but glad you got some meds to help.

Channing-I watched I Love Lucy last night on TV Land. I was laughing at Lucy and Ethel putting all of those chocolates in their hats and mouth because that belt kept getting faster. I think this morning is Leave it to Beaver and this afternoon is The Brady Bunch. I always wanted to be a Brady, they seemed to have so much fun.

DH and I were not very exciting last night, I woke him up from his chair at 11:55, but he fell back asleep. I watched the ball drop, rubbed the cat and told him Happy New Year, then went to bed.

I hope everyone has a good day. I'm doing a little cleaning, going up to my parents sometime this afternoon (they are right up the street), my mom always does all of the greens and beans for luck and money and all of that good stuff- we will be eating those for dinner.

Thank you for letting me chat with you, it is something I look forward to everyday - Lisa.

Good Morning and Happy New Year to Everyone!!!

No big plans last night, drove to my sil's and watched Dick Clark too!! It is friggin freezing here.

We played apples and apples and wii rock band with my kids, DH, nephew and inlaws!!!! HYSTERICAL!!!

My best song was the Steve Miller Band!!!! Didn't even need the words....thank you!!!! (patting myself on my back)!!

Today is DH's birthday (41) and we're going to see my brother's new home in NJ. Can't wait to see it and my nephew (18 months)!! My mom and dad slept there last night, it was nice not to have to worry about them.

Mare, thanks for the update!!

Have a great day everyone!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, FRIENDS!!

Well....I have to say 2008 left in a crappy way...my precious pup PEED on my bed last night......The girls and I and Tatum were all hanging out on my bed snuggled and watching (of course) I LOVE LUCY dvds....and suddenly Miss Precious got off....came over to the side and put her head down right near mine...and acted all sweetie sweet....and THEN I realized WHY she got down off the bed!!!! :rotfl:And WHY she was sucking up!!!! OMG.... Good bye 2008. Good riddance!! I hope 2009 brings better stuff.:rotfl2: Nobody here stayed up to see......the best is yet to come, right?!:thumbsup2

I have to catch up and read what I missed.:goodvibes

I did see Lisa
posted about Leave it to Beaver and The Brady Bunch!! I LOVE THOSE SHOWS!!!! I will have it on later!!! Lisa I always wanted a family like the Brady Bunch! They did have so much fun....I used to tell my mom I wanted more sisters and some brothers....she was like YOU"D FIGHT. :rolleyes1 But I did grow up with 3 girl cousins (Including me and my sis) and 3 guy cousins...we were our own Brady Bunch.:)

OK...I am off to read and I will be BACK!:) (see I tried to keep this post shorter;) )

Chan

Love Apples to Apples...that game is hilarious!!!

We LOVE that game, too!.....it's good for all ages...if the little ones can't read, they can "team up" with an adult. :goodvibes DS has Guitar Hero and Rock Band...but he gets aggravated with our lack of skill.:rotfl2: I love Rock Band though!! Go Annette!!! Rock on!! Happy Bday to DH!:goodvibes

hey everyone!
I hope everyone had a good night!
I fell asleep around 1130pm and woke up at 1230am lol
I am not going anywhere its freezing today here

I agree maxie we should do a MA lunch one day that would be great.

Ya! You guys should...there are several of you...and even Shel would probably go and meet ya all.:goodvibes Sounds like you guys got hit bad with wicked nasty weather.:scared1: Stay warm and safe. :grouphug:

Lcaemom
- How wonderful to have such comfy nice neighbors! We don't even "know" the people on either side of us!!:rotfl: We've lived here 11 years:rotfl2: ...nobody talks to each other.:rotfl: In a way it's kinda nice...but where I used to live I did have those great friend neighbors....so it's just different. I know the people with kids because of my own kids. But nobody is overly friendly with anybody. I kinda think that's why they moved out here....space and peace. (its why I did!)

Well....I was gonna take my tree and stuff down today too:rolleyes1 ...but it's a MEGA HUGE project because I love Xmas decorations and have too much stuff...my whole house is done up....so...I am holding out for the weekend. It took me over a week to get it this way so I cannot just get it down in a day.:headache: The girls are having slumber parties tomorrow and I am thinking it won't be done by then...and the house might be turned upside down...so Sat/Sun is my target time. :sad2: Which is kinda killing me as our tree is a mega fire hazzard at this point - NOBODY better dare plug in the lights:rotfl: ...and today is usually my day to start clean up and all.

DAwn and Siobhan,
hope you two are feeling better....You've been MIA so hopefully that means you're sleeping and resting.

OK...have a nice New Year Day all. :) Off to see if I can cram my king size comforter in my front loader....OMG....:rotfl: (and I have the BEST DOG EVER....she NEVER EVER has accidents......:rotfl2: )

TTYL!
Chan:)

Lcaemom: In addition to us there is Siobhan and Kelly. Sheli is in Maine, but said she could come down.:thumbsup2 We haven't heard from Siobhan, but everyone else is up for it.:thumbsup2 I think spring would be good, then we don't have to deal with this weather. Or, we could just crash the GF party next month.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Lisa: That is too funny about GMA knowing how many days until spring. I missed that. I only watched a little GMA this morning.

Chan:  Tatum must have been too comfy watching I Love Lucy with you to go out in the cold.:rotfl2: I wouldn't want to get out of a warm bed to go outside either.:rotfl2:

Mare: I never made it to Times Square for NYE. I always wanted to do that when I was younger, much younger.:lmao: That was even when Times Square wasn't such a nice place. Now you couldn't pay me to be there. I keep forgetting to mention that I spent many summers in the Pocono's. I grew up in PA. We had a neighbor that had a hunting cabin there and we went up several times during the summer. We drove through there several years ago and I couldn't believe how grown up it was. It used to just be hunting cabins and not much else.

I too have really enjoyed meeting everyone this year, oops I mean last year, and chatting with peeps that know why I spend so much money on a "hotel room".:lmao: Here's to more chatting in 2009.:goodvibes

Lisa I missed that part of your post about the Brady Bunch and Leave It To Beaver being on:confused3 ...another fan here too...I have the Beaver series on DVD...not the Brady Bunch though...but I do love that show too...who didnt!!

I ran into Maureen McCormick once in a store...I looked smiled and said HI...she did the same...I was acting real cool but I wanted to yell Hey Marcia!!:rotfl: Read some of the tell all behind the scenes stuff over the years... Ewwww...I dont want to know if Greg thought Mom Carol was cute!!! didnt everyone want to have a family like Brady Bunch...

Now I'd just like to have Alice here cooking and keeping house!!

Happy New Year Gals!!

Sounds like everyone had a good New Years Eve! My kids stayed up because DS wanted to watch Robbie Maddison ,the motorcycle guy, jump on and off a building in Vegas! :scared1:
He made it ! Unbelievable- he must have no fear because it looked terrifying!!

Blue Skies - 2 more weeks for your kids! That is a nice long break! I don't think we had that long for Christmas break in college but it would've been great!

Woo Hoo - Just a little over a month till the GF!

Channing Washing all that bedding...thank goodness you got that new washer!!!

Maxie What is GMA thinking copying your spring count down..:rotfl:Hey maybe they were lurking here...

Everyone is finally starting to wake up...Its about time!!!

I could sit here alot longer..:surfweb: but I guess I should go spend some time with the sleepy heads....
TTYL

Blue Skies...that is cute about seeing Marcia in the store...LOL...see i even typed MARCIA....:rotfl2: Neat!

Dawn!
You need to come out of lurking and READ YOUR EMAIL GIRL!!!:grouphug:

OK...I am OFF!:yay:

TTYL!

Chan

Chan - Sorry about the little dog "accident" . My dog almost never has accidents and rings a bell to go out but every once in a great while if its raining, he'll have an accident because he doesn't want to get rained on! Mabye Tatum didn't want to get cold like Maxie said! Dogs are funny aren't they - they have their little quirks like humans!

I need to check out Apples to Apples. It sounds fun! Mine got Rock Band 2 for Christmas and they love it! I'm sick of hearing Hungry Like the Wolf though.....  DD said she knows that song from Shrek. I forgot about it being in that movie. I can only think of the 80's when I hear that song!

Princesses Yes the kids do get a nice long break...I dont remember how long our break was...:rotfl:

Your trip is going to be here before you know it!! You gals are going to have a great time..:thumbsup2

My opinion of motorcycles in general is:scared1: no less jumping off a building...:upsidedow

I'm now having company and needed to log on to get Giada's Panettone Bread Pudding Recipe. I have an extra panettone and need a dessert!

Here's the link if anyone wants to try it, it's so good!:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/...pudding-with-amaretto-sauce-recipe/index.html

Chan: OMG, you're dog is usually so good, I can't believe she did that!! Best way to really put that new washer to the test! :rotfl: I hear ya on getting down the tree and stuff. That was my plan for the day until relatives invited themselves over for dinner - which I wasn't even planning on cooking today!! Thankfully I have some lobsters in the fridge, DH is going to make spaghetti and lobster sauce - yum!

I don't even know my neighbors here either. My next door neighbors have changed so many times, I can't keep track. Oh, Christine Agularia's (sp) inlaws live in my building :rotfl2: I've never seen her, but the doormen have.

Blue Skies: That's funny about Marcia! I loved the Bradys too!

Maxie: Our home in the Poconos is in a recreation community. It's gated with about 6,000 homes. About 1,500 live there full time, the rest are weekenders, like us. Those full timers are mostly retirees. All my neightbors are from NY :rotfl2: We laugh, we go to PA and hang out with other NYers! They have lots of activities during the week for them, with most things planned for the weekends when everyone else arrives. When you enter the gate, there's an activities flyer like on a cruise :) We love it there. I love all it offers for the kids there's summer camp, holiday parties, carnivals, skiing, ice skating, indoor and outdoor sports complexes and DH loves the golf course ;) Our community is one of the few to have it's own water plant with sewers and paved roads. DH did want anything to do with a septic system. I guess it's not really rural country, but it's country to us seeing deer in the yard and wild turkeys!

Gotta go make this bread pudding!

Afternoon Gals :)

Boy you gals have been chatty this morning :rotfl: :rotfl:.

BlueSkies......How cool about you seeing Maureen McCormick in a store ;). I used to watch the Brady Bunch all the time :rolleyes1.

Lcaemom......How nice you and your neighbors get together like that :goodvibes. Even though you didn't have plans to go anywhere I bet it was nice ;). We have great neighbors here and everybody gets along, which is nice :).

Chan......I'm sorry about Tatum . Poor pup probably just didn't want to go outside in the cold :sad2:.

Wendy.....We watched Robbie Maddison too :yay:. That's all DS has been talking about since he found out he was going to jump . Was that not the craziest thing :confused3. I would have been TERRIFIED had I been his fiance :scared:. He did end up jamming his hand on his landing......but that's nothing compared to what COULD have happened to him :scared1:. It was neat to watch though.

Mare.....Have a good time with your company. We're vegging out again today but I don't mind one bit as DH has to work tomorrow.....then off again for the weekend......then back to the old grindstone on Monday :rolleyes1....which will be HORRIBLE trying to get DSs up for school :headache:. But I guess once we're into the week it'll be business as usual and hopefully time will fly by and we'll be seeing signs of SPRING :flower3:.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day :goodvibes.

Deb :cool2:

Today is definately turning out to be a perfect start to 2009. I have a healthy, happy family, great friends...now including all of you who have been so much fun to chat with...my sauce and meatballs are simmering on the stove, just finished making chocolate cookies with my 11yoDD, Allison...she hates to shop but, loves to cook...my other two DDs are off at friends' houses. My DH has a fire going and is watching the outdoor hockey game...sounds freezing, to me...soooooooo, I'm sitting down, with a cup of tea and cookies, to catch up on the last few hours here and to start my TR. I'm so excited to finally get going on that. I am feeling really blessed...couldn't have asked for a better start to the year!!!:cloud9:

Blueskies Do you add meatballs to your sauce? I never know which way is best...I made the meatballs separately this AM; they came out great so, I don't want to ruin them but, I wonder if they would be better simmering in the sauce?!? I'm Irish...sauce and meatballs are not my specialty

Channing Sorry to hear about your dog. We had a dog until March...we had to put him down. He was never my favorite being...he shed like crazy, was constantly trying to play with skunks...he ruined one of my favorite Vera Bradley bags (coudln't get the smell out) but, it was still very sad to put him down. My DDs REALLY want to get another one but, I am very happy with not having to deal with that kind of thing...maybe someday!?! I'm such a mean mother.
Hope your sleepover goes well...how many girls do you have coming? I agree with leaving the Christmas stuff up until the weekend...although between the laundry, the sleepover and the decorations...you're going to be pretty busy!!!

Maxie86 Let's start the planning!!! In Boston? Is that central to everyone? Tons of great places to consider there. That would be fun!!!

Princessrule4 Know what you mean about Rockband...my DDs got GuitarHero last year and I still can't get Slow Ride out of me head...AGHHH!!! This year they got Wii Fit...so fun!!! They haven't stopped playing that...there is a soccerball game, skiing, snowboards, yoga, step aerobics and the list goes on and on...can't wait til Monday for them to go back to school and make myself a Mii.:rotfl:

Well off to start that trip report...never done this with pictures before...so, this could take awhile.

I am up in Salisbury but if we pick a weekend I can drive a bit if I need to.
I would so be in and tete lives 15 min from me and we have already met in person I am sure she would like to go to.
