Having a GRAND time - the NEW Official GF Chat Thread PART 4

Looking for ideas here for our upcoming trip.. I have reading around and not sure so looking for opinions

If you had 1 full day to yourself at Disney... no kids or DH.. just YOU... what would you go and do?

Dave and the kids want to hit the water park and I am not big on water parks so I am NOT going. Instead I get a whole day to myself but shoot what to do what to do?!

any good ideas out there?

I was thinking:

shopping (no-one in my family understands how much fun it can be!)

some time at the spa

relaxing in the lounge (you're RPC, right?)

Brook: I though you were taking the KTTK tour?

I'd hit the spa, do afternoon tea in the Tea Room, that's what I usually do when I get a few hours away from the family. I've never had a whole day to myself, that's a real luxury! Enjoy it!

I was thinking of taking the keys tour but haven't signed up yet. It sounds cool but most of what they go through I already know from the internet so not sure what new things I would learn or see

I do like to go shopping and the day won't be complete without shopping but we are talking ALL DAY from morning until bed to myself here ... my pocketbook can only take so much shopping

B- I would sleep in. Get room service...your favorite. Book a spa treatment and go and lay by the pool. I would then head off to do some shopping.
Sounds fun!

And Kelly said the Housewives of NY is on tonight too....I always miss that show..so I am going to try and REMEMBER to dvr it tonight... That seems like some good trash TV.

What channel is that on? I need a good laugh - I'm sure they are as snobby yet trashy as the Housewives of Orange County that I watched a few times!!

Wendy...I think it's pretty much the same thing!! I meant to watch that too...but didn't know the channel or the time....it's on Bravo tonight at 9 or 10 ...

Wendy, BL is on from 7-9pm on NBC. I don't do Idol so I am not sure when that is on.

I saw that! I tucked it into my mental roladex for December to make sure we don't book a late flight down. Disney getting the bags is the best part of DME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I just got a $59 credit from Jet Blue!! Our flights going out are $89 each!!! OMG!!! The rep said to watch because our return flights should drop too! This has NEVER happened before!!!

Trashy Housewives of NYC are on this evening at 11pm, Trashy Housewives of OC have their finale at 10pm. Next week, NYC will take their 10pm spot. Can you tell I love both of them! Jill from NYC lives three blocks away from me. Her building has my Starbucks in it. I'd love to bump into her, I like her and the countess. I saw Ramona once last year walking down the street, she was yelling into her blackberry - not a fan of hers at all.

I'm so stuffed! DH took a ride over the bridge to Queens to get us gyros for dinner. They were delish but now I'm stuffed!

Brook: Why not go on a segway tour around Epcot? I did that one when it was a walking tour and found it so interesting, you really look at the countries in a new light. I did learn tidbits on the KTTK that I didn't know, granted they repeat a lot that any WDW fan knows, but seeing the utilidors is cool. I like Vanessa's day! Room service, pool, spa, shopping

Gotta go set the DVRs for all tonights stuff. I have to run both the bedroom and living room ones. I have to record AI for DH and I can't miss BL or my housewives

Did you hear DME will only be mailing you ONE tag per person. If you need more, you need to call.

I'm trying to catch up, but can't remember much so I'll just say Hi, and welcome back Vanessa. I guess I missed a lot today.

DH went to the doctor today. He could see the big E on the eye chart. Still can't lift anything heavy. He gets to be a slacker for a couple more weeks. He did get the OK to go on our trip.

This 3 hour on-stage, walking tour will provide insights into the design and building of this new species of theme park as well as a glimpse into the complexities of caring for animals and habitats. Your journey will take you into the land of Anandapur, to the village of Harambe in Africa and through the colorful world of Discovery Island. You'll marvel at the efforts that go into creating and sustaining a "wild" place like Disney's Animal Kingdom! A light continental breakfast will be served midway through the program.


Offered Thursday and Friday and lasts 3 hours. You must be 14 years of age or older. There are no behind the scenes visits as part of the tour.

$58 per person, plus your Animal Kingdom Admission.

I was thinking about the other AK tour.. the one that goes backstage to the animal care facilities. I forget the name of it though...

its kind of a toss up between that one and the keys tour... unless I can come up with something better like sleeping in all day and having some sexy bell hop come fluff my pillow every hour
