Princesses ~ What are you thinking woman......having a big Thanksgiving dinner just before you leave on vacation :scared1: :scared1:. I would be going absolutely CRAZY if that were me :rotfl: :rotfl:. But you do have the GF to look forward to after Thanksgiving....so that's a big plus :thumbsup2.

Chan & Kristin ~ Have fun at breakfast :goodvibes. And enjoy this beautiful weather because it won't last long :rotfl:.

Hope everyone enjoys their day :flower3:. I've got a few errands to run so I better get going to get those done :rolleyes1.

Deb :)

:rotfl:
It's not even a question - Thanksgiving is at my house every year!!

I actually like having it here and not traveling! And I enjoy the cooking and baking (my DD loves to help and my mom will pitch in), plus I've done it for so long, I've got it down to a science!
:upsidedow Crazy- I know!!

Sounds like you've got it covered and will have no problem at all :goodvibes :goodvibes. Just the thought of me doing that right before vacation made me go :scared1:......:rotfl: :rotfl:. We go to my parent's as well as my inlaw's on Thanksgiving Day.....so I've never had it at our house :rolleyes1. We eat dinner at one and go visit the other on our way home.....then switch the next year ;). Have fun with all the shopping and preparation :).....it's hard to believe Thanksgiving is almost here :sad2:.

Your lucky..... we have to do Thanksgiving and Christmas at BOTH family's on the same day! I actually hate all the running around and being told "well you spent this many hours there but you only spend so many hours here" Wah wah! I HATE it! We are right now in the process of trying to plan from both days and my in laws are being jerks and of course my grandmother will not budge because "it's tradition". It's like both side are mad at us because we won't dedicate to them only.

I could go on and on but i wont......

:headache:

Princesses I have Thanksgiving every year also..solves the whose side of the family to eat with dilemma...have it down pat too...turkey, side dishes etc...would love to bake some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies this year:rolleyes1

I have come to the conclusion you cannot make everyone happy when it comes the holidays...we just do our best and try to be fair...

Mandy I'm with you...its just not easy...plus at Christmas wouldnt it be nice to just focus on the reason for the season...

Deb I dont know how you go to both families on the same day...We tried that once ...way too crazy:eek:

I have a good solution...spend all the holidays at Disney...;)

I'm back from running my errands with one of those errands being a search for a bday gift for DS's girlfriend :rolleyes1. Talk about NOT being ready for that .....I know he's 15 and the time for girls is here.....but I don't want it to be :rotfl: :rotfl:....but I guess I can't stop it . I found a cute bracelet and got a charm to go on it....hope she likes it .

Mandy ~ We have to go to both families on the same day for Thanksgiving, but not Christmas :rolleyes1. On Thanksgiving we get to the first one around noon and that's where we eat the big dinner.......then we go to the other one to visit and have dessert :goodvibes.....then the next year we switch as to where we eat dinner and just visit :). DH's family usually does Christmas on Christmas Eve and mine does it Christmas Day :santa:.....although this year for DH's family we're doing it on 12/20 because a few can't make it here for Christmas Eve (me and DH are the only ones left in this area).

BlueSKies ~ We've been doing both families on Thanksgiving Day for alot of years now so I guess I'm just used to it . But both sets of parents live just 10 minutes from each other so there's not too much traveling going on ;). But sometimes it does get crazy because the day gets to be so long and I just want to head home and crash :faint:....especially since I'm one of the crazy ones who gets up at 6:00 the day after Thanksgiving to head out shopping all day :rotfl2:. But I do like your thinking of spending all the holidays at Disney :thumbsup2......that would solve all problems :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Deb :cool2:

BlueS - The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies are at the dessert table and they go so fast that we make them again over the Thanksgiving weekend!

I WILL get that recipe posted as soon as I have a while to type it up on here- kind of a long recipe.... We just made them for Halloween!

That is exactly one of the reasons I like having it at my house!
We went through that cr@p you described for a few years..... I know what you mean and it does stink!

Hey, all!

Kristin and I were there for a long time.:rotfl: It was a nice morning!! (into afternoon:) )

I just watched today's Rachel Ray show with the Disney twist. I thought it was going to be more at the Grand, but it was actually more of an "Amazing Race" contest in the MK and then some at Epcot. Very fun.

OK...I edited the rest...LOL

The day has flown! I got home from bfast and did a little housework, went for a walk and then just watched the show. Now off to pick up Lucy.

TTYL!
Channing:)

Mandy I am sorry you are dealing with the pulled from both sides holiday junk! I decided about 5 years ago that I am no longer dragging my children all over the planet on a holiday that (IMHO) is meant for kids. It took 2 years before anyone got over it. But it was so worth it!

They just want to be home with their new things and in their own house. They did not enjoy being stuffed into a cold car and driven 2 hours south to spend 2 hours in a grandmothers family room, uncomfortable, overdressed and underfed (my inlaws cook for 4 people...even if they are having company...they still cook for 4, everyone just eats less :scared1: .)

Then we would all get back in the car and drive to my parents house, where she is overtired, cranky and not really wanting company....even though she invited us!!!

All done! Staying home! Come on over and visit!
Of course, we said it nicer than that! It was more like: "The kids love to see you for the holidays but they would really enjoy being home to enjoy their new gifts and they would truly love being able to share them all with you. Please come to our house for Chrismas."

They did not come the first 2 years, but now they all join us at some point during the day, and they have far more fun with the kids now that the kids are not tired and cranky from being dragged all over the planet!

Hi all :)
Sorry I haven't posted much since returning. I left the world behind for 9 days and it's hard getting back into the swing. Mandy, let me know which outfits you are interested and I can give you some info :) As for the weather - I was surprised how chilly it got a couple of days...we just dressed warm and I brought jackets for the kids so we made do. My son dressed as Buzz for MNSSHP and had layers under his costume - my daughter had tights plus leggings on, 2 long sleeve shirts and then the little corset top over. No one froze but it felt good getting back to the GF after the party that night! Thank you for thinking of my kids with the treat bags - I am sorry we missed getting to see you.

I need a countdown...can anyone tell me how many days till spring? And whose next in line for a trip?? Deb??

Back from picking up Lucy. Had to catch up....

WOw....sorry about the Thanksgiving stress.....I know a lot of families that do that running all day between sides. Not us though....we're on our own:eek:

This is going to be our first year in SIX years of being home for Thanksgiving. Not sure what we're going to do. :confused3 We have our Xmas traditions but this is going to be odd being here just the 5 of us on Thanksgiving.

Princesses....I'd love that recipe, too.:goodvibes

TTYL,
Channing:)

Hi all :wave2:

Traci - I totally hear ya about it being tough getting back into the swing of things . Disney is such a happy place that I hate heading to that airport for our flight home :rolleyes1. It's just so nice to not have to worry about cooking, cleaning, laundry or anything else for a week ;). But I usually start planning our next trip before we've even left the one we're on :rotfl: :rotfl:. But sadly....no....I'm not next in line for a trip :sad2:. I think Vanessa and Dawn are two that are coming up here soon :goodvibes. I still have about 8 months to go :sad2:. But YOU need to start planning another one .

How did you like DTD and that new T-Rex restaurant :confused3?? That sounds like a neat place to go eat....does it kind of resemble Rain Forest Cafe but with dinosaurs???

Chan - Wow.....first time in 6 years being home for Thanksgiving....that will be different I'm sure . I'm sure you all will have a great day together :thumbsup2. Both mine and DH's parents are in the area so we don't have to travel......but I told him it would be nice one of these years for us to go to Disney for Thanksgiving :). So I'm working on that for the future :goodvibes.

Deb :upsidedow

8 months is quicker than I'll be there :) Regarding T-Rex I am glad we went but I'm not sure if we will do it again anytime soon. Food was okay. The atmosphere was neat, but we could have enjoyed that just walking through. DTD was packed the night we went. I couldn't believe how crowded it was. But we also went on a Friday night so I guess that is to be expected. I like the area though!

I also hate coming home. The crowds at the airport annoy me. Atleast at Disney if I'm in line it's for something good.

I am cooking Thanksgiving for the first time this year. For those of you who don't know this about me...I am not a good cook. I like to eat...I just don't like to cook. So this will be interesting.

It is 137 days until spring. 38 days until our December trip to the Swan, 185 until BWI,and 188 until our first RPC stay. I'm not obsessed or anything am I?:lmao: BTW your kids are adorable. Post more pic's when you have time.

We started home on turkey day last year and it was great. I cooked and chilled out and of course watched football.

I will be staying home this year as well. As for xmas I go to my Dad's house and will be there again this year.

Hi all :)

Hi ladies (and Marvel). I have been dealing with my own school drama all day, which has culminated in me finally being enrolled in the correct program (they had me in the master's program instead of the doctoral program for my last class  ).

I have decided to take my required statistics course this semester. :scared: I HATE MATH :sad2: . HATE it! I hate it even more now that I found out I have to buy $500 worth of software and books for the course on top of my tuition :scared1: ugh. Oh well, at least it will be over soon, which was why I chose to take it so early in the first place.

BF and I were doing Southbeach and we sort of stopped the last month or two. I have been steady anyway (didn't stop completely, just threw in some snacks :rolleyes1 ). He has gained back about 5 of the 40 he lost and we have started again. I am a witch on wheels today, and I know tomorrow will be worse. And tomorrow is election day, which means people parading through my office all day. Joy. :headache:

Just thinking about the holidays makes me  . Families are so selfish. Double bed with a hump in the middle for me, DF, and our dog, sheets that haven't been changed in who knows how long, and a fan that dosen't move air and creaks loudly. That's all I'll say :upsidedow

Have a great night everyone!

Good Evening Everyone:)

Maxie I'm lovin those countdowns (keeps me focused on spring)...you lucky girl you so many trips to look foward too:)

Irisbud What a day!!:headache: ...glad you were finally able to straighten out your program enrollment...:sad2: that you have to pay extra costs for your statistics classs though...But just think in 2 short months you'll be a Disney:bride: ...It will be just wonderful...talk about something to look foward too....:thumbsup2

Channing Glad that you and Kristin enjoyed your breakfast...Its so nice that you live close enough to be able to get together:)

TTYL:flower3:

Hi Gals.....

Well I can hardly think of T-giving now that we are not going to Disney....:sad1: I dont think we will be back there until summer...thats the way its looking.

Amy...I hated math too and then I had to take 2 1/2 yrs of it to get my degree and guess what I really like it now! and my supervisor said that I have a really good math sense....I dont think he was talking about me.

Chan and Kristin...where did you all go for b-fast??? Want to meet one day??? Let me know...i need it!

Mandy...I so hear ya about the holidays...one time when the boys were little we had Christmas Eve here and then we stayed home all by ourselves...no one came over and we never got out of PJ's all day!!! The boys loved it! Played all day!

Traci...your pics are adorable! Those outfits are out of this world! Glad you had a good time.

Well one more day of nice weather then I think its going to get cold!
