tete ~ We've never been to Le Cellier or Yachtsman so we're excited to try those on our July trip :goodvibes. We also look forward to eating when we go to Disney.....that's one of the best things of the trip :rotfl:. We had a bad dinner experience at Crystal Palace a few years ago and we really didn't like the place in Mexico :sad2:....but other than that we love all the food at Disney :thumbsup2. The food in Mexico wasn't horrible.....it just wasn't what we expected, I guess .

Shelli & Vanessa ~ I'm with you two all the way......I HATE winter and it is FREEZING here today .....and it's also raining :headache:.

Mandy ~ Keep sending those warm Florida thoughts....we sure could use them here today .

Chan ~ Good thing you're leaving Saturday......after yesterday's 80-85 degree day, we're in for 60-64 as a HIGH for the rest of the week :scared1:. Bring back some of that Florida weather :rolleyes1.

Deb :flower3:

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I love all the talk about WDW restaurants!!! Here's our list!! Very similiar to all of you!!

Tappen Edo - We loved!!! Great Drinks, Good Food!!

California Grill - Our ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!

WCC - We loved this also, its a tradition to eat there every year!!

Brown Derby - We love this place, but haven't eaten there in awhile, its time to back next year!! Love the booths!!

Mama Melrose - Great Sangria, I would recommend appies and Pizza!!!

Sci-Fi - I don't know why?? My kids love it, we go for lunch, not worth dinner!!

Plaza - Nice light meal, great desserts, great staff!!! IMO, the only restaurant in MK (Sit down)!!

Le Cellier - LOVE IT!!! Cozy, nice meal for one 1TS!!!

Tutto Italia - We really liked!!!!

France - Would love to try next year

Coral Reef - Yuck!!! My DH and DS left hungry!! DD couldn't find anything she liked and ate a kids meal!!!

Yachtsman - Would love to try, another new one for next year!!

Narcoossees - Can't eat there after sooooo many people said they threw up after eating there...lol lol lol!!!! Not kidding!!!

Ohana - Used to love it, not so much anymore, I think we'll try Kona Cafe next year. I like to have dinner on the monorail, easy in and out into the parks!!

I would love to hear of some CS places, we never know where to eat CS at!!!

Hi, all!

I am cold too!! We left all the windows WIDE open last night. It's a big difference today. :rolleyes1

Before I forget....for CS in MK we really like Pecos Bills. That and Caseys are the ones we have to do each trip. I am hoping it's uncrowded enough this time that we can sit on the bleachers and Jojo can watch the old cartoons.:goodvibes

We LOVE the Plaza!:thumbsup2 That is actually a favorite all around! I know it's basic but with my bad stomach I get so tired of heavy restaurant food & my stomach does...it's basic and fresh and good. I couldn't even get an ADR for it this time! That stupid DIS restaurant board let the secret out.    We always get indifferent to snotty service here, though. It's the SAME wait staff they have had for YEARS so we know what to expect.:rotfl2:

Siobhan...it was like 1/2 and 1/2 who put the 18% in and who didn't. We had to check the bill each time. My DDE is expired and I don't know if it's worth it for me to buy another right now with just the girls and myself - probably break even. If it's not inconvenient to buy it I will....but I don't want to be traipsing all over looking for where to do it.

Deb...I will probably get some stuff together today. All the thing I ordered on Ebay have NOT ARRIVED YET and I am getting tense about that.:headache: I have a bin of crap we bring to WDW all the time.:rotfl: That makes it easy. The girls have to figure out what outfits work for them and get their pins together. And the princess dresses. And Halloween costumes. I took a pic of Lucy in hers and it's wicked cool. I'll post it later.

LOL....did somebody ask about tipping valet a while back?? I was gonna ask DH because I am usually rounding up kids when he does the tipping. I think he does tip both ways....you want to make sure your car gets parked in a good spot and not dinged.:rotfl: :rotfl:

OK...talking about food...and the phone rings...dh forgot his lunch AGAIN. He asked me to make him one because HE gets sick of restaurant food so once in a while he asks me....and it NEVER FAILS - he forgets it. He knew I'd be ticked.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I need to go back and see what else I have to comment on.:rotfl2:

OH!! Yes..I will get Gaspies arcade, inside, and outside seating. I do have some already but I'll get fresh ones.:goodvibes And I will stand in front of Sago and get marina view from Sago and marina from Conch too. Can I go into the different lodges or are they all locked?? Anybody know??? I will go in and see what room numbers are good.:rotfl:

Chan:)

Here is our food list:

Liberty Tree Tavern We only do lunch here, have never done the dinner. This is our first day tradition. We take the earliest flight and have LTT lunch at 2:00 PM, LOL. The lunch food is really good and the price is fairly reasonable, especially for WDW.

Crystal Palace Enjoyed breakfast here! Decent food and fun charachter interaction! Tigger is my very favorite and he "proposed" to me, which made my day :goodvibes

Germany The food is good, though I'm not so keen on the seating arrangement, but I am very shy. This year we are going to do a group lunch here, which may be more comfortable for us as we will know our tablemates.

Tokyo Dining This is the other side of Teppan Edo. You sit at regular tables and the food is not cooked in front of you. They also have a TON of sushi options. DF loves this place, as he HATES the Japanese cooking in front of you thing; I think it is fun, but he says it is "creepy" :confused3

Bistro De Paris Very good food! This is one of my favorites, but it is VERY expensive.

Le Cellier I am in the "don't understand the hype about Le Cellier" camp. It was OK, but we won't go again, at least not for a while. we enjoyed the soup and pretzel bread but the steak was just another steak and the price for what we got was  even by Disney standards!

Coral Reef I haven't eaten there in a few years. I liked it the last time, but DF hates the smell of fish, so I doubt we will be going there anytime soon

Brown Derby We did the Lunch with an Imagineer here, so our experience was not normal. YUCK! This was the worst meal I have EVER had at Disney! My fish was not cooked properly and I couldn't finish it, and the creme brulee was just nasty bad. That being said, I would try it again in the normal way. Since we were eating with a group, I didn't want to say anything about my meal really, as I thought it would interrput the flow of the program and ruin things for everyone if I was sitting there complaining. They didn't have the opportunity to fix it, so I can't hold it against them! So this will get another chance someday!

Rainforest cafe Nasty, loud, and overpriced

Raglan Road I thought this was really good. DF thought it was gross so he says we can't go back

Boma Enjoyed the food, atmosphere was a little crowded and loud for me, but I had a headache. This was the best place with my food allergy. The chef came out and was wonderful. She even walked the buffet with me, which was great, as I don't eat the dishes on either side of something I can have a reaction to either, as people tend to use the same spoons for everything :sad2:

Grand Floridian Cafe We have done breakfast and lunch here. Love the atmosphere, food is alright, with the breakfast food being better (they put candies on the mickey waffle!)

Whispering Canyon Cafe Had a good, fun lunch here. My dad dropped his fork twice so they brought him one that was about 3 ft long!

Kona Cafe Another Favorite! We have dinner here every trip and haven't had a bad meal yet. DF likes their steak better than Le Cellier.

ESPN DF's favorite. Fun atmosphere, good boneless hot wings and other bar type food, reasonable prices.

Shula's Outstanding! Really good food, and great service!

Victoria and Albert's (Chef's table) Hands down the best meal and the best service I have ever experienced. Worth every penny!

For counter service we enjoy Main Street Bakery, Sunshine Seasons, The French Pastry place, Pizzafari, and Gaspie's. And I love the churro cart in Fantasyland! I think they are the best churros in all of WDW!

We are trying a couple of new places this trip:
Captain's Grille at YC (needed a spot in BW area for our rehersal dinner that would takle a reservation for 20)

1900 Park faire Dinner

Mama Melrose for lunch

Jiko for dinner

Whew, that was a novel!

Hi all!

I am SO GLAD that school is back in session! That 4 day weekend was rough :rotfl: Mine and DS's allergies are going crazy right now :sad2: We really need it to get to down to 30 degrees one night soon and kill off all the allergens! (and the wasps!!!)

Speaking of wasps ;) Hi Traci!! How many days? Are you killing more wasps per day than days left till your trip?? :rotfl:

Mandy- :lmao: :thumbsup2 about the Rays comments!! For once the blonde one got it!

Kel- I am calling you later today!! I think DH has finally given up resisting the June trip! :woohoo: He still is undecided about whether or not he is coming though. We got the 2009 White Sox schedule and we would play the cubs (aka THE CHOKERS!!) at Wrigley during that week (for which he has already been promised tickets from a supplier) and then the Brewers up at Miller Park (which he has always wanted to go see, and again, can get tickets from a supplier)

Chan- I have a feeling the Ebay stuff is coming today :thumbsup2

I am enjoying reading everyone's restaurant stuff :goodvibes Keep it coming!! Thanks Amy for listing the CS stuff! I will add to that list as well!

V- I posted a marina view room from Conch on the FAQ board awhile back. I will repost it here later.

Hi to everyone else I am missing! (Deb, Shelli, Dawn et al.)

For Vanessa :goodvibes

This was the view from Conch Key Room 7101. Ground floor, corner room closest to Sugar Loaf. It does not have wallpaper on the walls (the walls are painted a very pale yellow). It was a GREAT room since we didn't have to wait for an elevator with the stroller to go upstairs. Also, there are only 4 rooms (plus the laundry room) in this little corner of the building so it was quiet. The side door to get towards Sugar Loaf was right next to our room (Needed a room key to get in it after hours if memory serves) so it made for easy exit. Our walk to Gaspy's was under 3 minutes- to the elevator in the main building about 7 minutes.

K- Thanks so much for the photo!! Nice view!

So what is the difference between Conch or Sago?? I know I am probably going to get what I get during Christmas. I am requesting Marina View but just did not know if one was better than the other.

OK- I have decided to order that tree from the WDW Florist. It looks really pretty and the girls love Tink. I have sold a lot of the girls clothes at a resale shop and saved up the $$ so I am going to gift to myself since it is Christmas and my Anniversary.

My ? is...what do I get my husband?? Any ideas?? Anything that is around the resort other than cakes and strawberries that I could have delivered?? I am at a loss here. I feel like since it is our Anniversary I need to get him something. :confused3 :confused3 I may get me one of those sexy santa outfits and dress up while the girls are at the pirate cruise (NAUGHTY...totally kidding...no I am not!) Any other ideas!

V- I answered you question over on the FAQ thread about the difference between the 2.

I think the Santa outfit would be a good start :santa: ;)

hey all again.:rotfl:

Kristin nice view.

Are the outer lodges locked?? I know I sound creepy....but I am wondering....

Vanessa...the only thing is you DO NOT want that back side of Sago. YUCKY YUCKY YUCKY. I would request CONCH Marina View. If they see that and can't get you Conch, hopefully you'll get a marina view from Sago....or...if they can't get you marina view maybe they'll give you the pretty garden view from Conch and maybe a little corner view of the lagoon.

There is really no difference between Conch and Sago...they face each other across the marina.

Get the tree. YOu will lOVE it. I love mine. It is prettier in person even and you will use it every year after. A hint....if you are sending things down, use a LARGE box so that you can mail your own tree home. Disney Florist will charge you an arm and a leg to ship it home and FOR ME, they said it will take 6 weeks!!!!!! So, we took ours apart, put it into our large box and shipped it to ourselves and had it in 3 days and I set i up again!

Chan

For some reason I knew that would be your answer!! ;) (naughty minds think alike :rotfl: boy I miss Brook!!) Anyone talk to her????

Thanks for your info!!

By the way...please tell me the outer lodges are locked at some time during the night. :scared1:

OK, our list of CS places :goodvibes

First, the ones we like(this is a small list):

1) Pizzafari in AK. I think it is HORRIBLE that pizza isn't on the kids menu here, so we usually share 2 adult CS meals between the 3 of us. 1 pizza meal and 1 Italian sandwich. Yum!! And those frozen lemondade cups for dessert.

2) Pinocchio's Village Haus. Can you believe I have never tried the figaro fries? :rotfl: Again, they have a good panini here (not great since they made the switch to wheat bread though- a little too dry). We usually have good luck getting a Small World table too :thumbsup2

3) Casey's Corner- but only for the corndog nuggets. Don't even get me started on how HORRIBLE the hot dogs are. :rotfl: No wonder the rest of the country puts ketchup on hotdogs when they taste like that. Come to Chicago for an all beef Kosher dog- we'll show you a REAL hotdog! ;)

4) Gaspy's- we really like the lunch food here. It's different. DH loves that cucumber salad too! We also like the Grand Breakfast since it can usually fill the 3 of us!

OK, the ones we won't eat at:

1) Cosmic Rays. That food was so dried out :sad2:
2) Electric Umbrella. Ditto
3) Backlot Express. (we saw a mouse running across the floor here and DH's burger was horribly undercooked) We actually hate all the CS at DHS, which is why we go to the Sci Fi for lunch on our DHS day and eat at the BW area for dinner.
4) Cantina at Mexico pavillion. I think we just prefer to eat inside over outside. Plus those dang birds wouldn't leave us alone :rotfl:

Ones we don't go out of our way to eat at but will if we are hungry:

1) Pecos Bill. DH likes the fixings bar for the burgers. I can only eat so many burgers over the course of a week before I am done :sad2:
2) Colombia Harbor House. It seems like the menu is a lot smaller than it once was :confused3
3) Restorantosaurus. When MCD's was in there it was OK for DS's sake, but otherwise we don't care for it
4) Pizza Planet (I feel the same way about pizza as burgers)
5) Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT. It is so huge and diverse we can usually find something here we like.

Needless to say we are OVERJOYED that they are offering DxDDP so we can skip the CS meals now. I wish they would offer an interim plan with 2 TS meals, 2 snacks and a mug for $55- that would really be perfect for us. But for now we are happy with the 3 meals...

Hi, all!

LOL....did somebody ask about tipping valet a while back?? I was gonna ask DH because I am usually rounding up kids when he does the tipping. I think he does tip both ways....you want to make sure your car gets parked in a good spot and not dinged.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Chan:)

Thats was me..... just wondering....i am so not sophisticated like that!:rotfl:

Hi all!

Mandy- :lmao: :thumbsup2 about the Rays comments!! For once the blonde one got it!

;)

V- I answered you question over on the FAQ thread about the difference between the 2.

I think the Santa outfit would be a good start :santa: ;)

I agree and order a can or whip cream! :woohoo:

By the way...please tell me the outer lodges are locked at some time during the night. :scared1:

They are you have to have your key to access them after a certain time..... like 10 or 11 i think and befor a certain time!

I can hear it now. I will call Linda at the GF. Can I please have an order of tuxedo strawberries, a can of whip cream and throw some handcuffs on there if you gottem. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: How is that for special requests??:lmao:

dang y'all are funny :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Oh Chan , time to clean out your PM Box again.........

I just did!!:rotfl: I think it's under control now.:thumbsup2 I deleted all my SENT items....hope that wasn't a mistake.

Vanessa....you are a riot. NO wonder you're concerned about the lodges being locked at night.:rotfl: :rotfl:

TTFN! Laundry awaits!!! But it goes SO FAST with my "new" (not new anymore) W/D!:goodvibes (that is pathetic)
