Good Afternoon Everyone:flower3:

Vanessa So sorry to hear about your FIL, glad hes on the mend now What an awful week!!! As far as that tanning salon goes...:sad2: not very good business practices..
One day at a time is a great motto...:)

Kristin Hope your DS is feeling better...Your basket is adorable...He is going to love it!:santa:

Kelly DD cant wait to the Twilight movie either...she said she hopes it is as good as the book...let us know... we wont be seeing it until next week...

Deb Its freezing here too...this is January weather:headache: and its supposed to stay that way thru the weekend....what happened to the fall...Dawns right global warming....

Channing The cost of braces :scared1: But she'll have a million dollar smile...:)

Hi to everyone else...hope your all keeping warm...;)

Kelly, I think I am going to have to go see it. Lucy has a group of friends going but 1/2 can't go without a parent. So....I am getting roped into it. I don't mind too much. HUGE Diet Coke!:thumbsup2 But...I have to figure out what to do with Jojo....Zack has to work.:rolleyes1 Hmmm.....

Hi to everybody else!:goodvibes

OH PS.....WHAT EXACTLY IS Resort Airline Check IN??? Anybody know? Anybody do it? Is there a link to info on the DIS??

TTYL. The sun is shining....I am going for a walk!

CHanning :)

Mare....if you're here.....I heard back about the resort to resort delivery! OK..here's the deal. They will do it...but it's rarely asked for, and because it's rare they cannot guarantee WHEN it will get to the BWI. They say 2 days but can't guarantee it.

Where are you all??

Here I am! :cheer2:

Thanks for the info Chan. That will work, as we're going to the GF our first night, so whenever it gets to the BWI is fine. As long as they don't break any of my gingerbread cookies in transit! :rotfl2:

I've been so busy. This morning I had to run to the Apple store on Fifth Avenue because my Ipod Nano got "corrupted". I have no idea how this happened. Thankfully, the store is open 24 hours (can you believe that!). I only had a 20 min wait to see an "Ipod Genius" -yes that's what they're called at the "Genius Bar" and yes, I asked if it was also a coffee bar (it's not) but should be if the place is open 24 hours! She restored my Ipod but I lost all my music :headache: It's all saved on my other laptop, the one that the cord melted and had smoke coming out of - remember that episode! Well, DH is going to get the old laptop fixed, only the wire socket needs to be replaced, so eventually I'll get all my music back! At least I can listen to my Disney podcasts on my way to WDW! :)

It's so cold here today!! I think it was in the 20s when I went out this morning. Poor DS1 was all bundled up in his stroller, you could only see his eyes!

I'm still stressing over packing. This cold front FL is having is driving me nuts. I don't know if I should pack more warm clothes and I have know idea if we'll need shorts. I'm thinking jeans and t-shirts for the day??? I'm so confused!!!

Vanessa: My DH tans year round. He's like George Hamilton! He swears by Clarins Self Tanner (in the red tube) which he buys in Bloomingdales and Comodynes Self Tanning Towelettes (our Bed Beth & Beyond sells them in the Health & Beauty section)

Blue Skyes: I'm not organized this trip at all! I had to ship down our basic supplies (diapers, wipes, snack crackers, etc...) it was a small box, only cost me $10 to ship. I also shipped another box of small gift bags for the boys, one for each "adult" restaurant we're dining in. My DS1 is not good at long meals, he gets really restless. So this trip (since we're on the DxDDP) I had to get creative. I went to Toys R Us and bought some small toys for them and wrapped them up and put them into little gift bags. I tried to find things that would really keep them busy like legos for DS4, color wonder, etc... For DS1 I bought him small cars, Thomas trains, etc... I'm just trying to make the focus be on the gift bag and not the meal. I even threw in some M&Ms and Lollypops, just to buy time! :rotfl: Can you tell I'm desperate to eat a meal without a character popping his head in my face! :rotfl2:

Is it true that the BWI leaves taffy on your pillows at night? :confused3 I saw a photo of it. My DS4 loves getting chocolates on his pillow "from Mickey". In June at the GF, he'd run into the room to collect all the chocolates. We finally figured out we had to collect most of them before he did, cause he'd sit in bed and eat all of them! And they were leaving 8 chocolates a night! :) I bought some Santa Novelty Chocolate candy and thought I'd leave it on his pillow each night, just in case we get taffy!

I still have to put up our tree, pack and start planning Thanksgiving Dinner for Saturday. SIL gave me the guilt trip that we were leaving her and she didn't get invited anywhere. So now I have to cook a T-giving meal, which was the whole point of going away for T-giving so that I wouldn't have to cook! :headache:

I'll be popping in here again sometime before I leave.

Right now DS1 is waking up from his nap.

Mare

Chan, RAC never applies to you since you fly SW. The major airlines have a skycab at the hotel where you can turn in your luggage and get your boarding passes rather than at the airport.

Since this is my first SW trip, I am REALLY going to miss it! :sad1:

Mare When my kids were little (quite a while ago) I used to pack an extra suitcase with all of the things we needed (now its is much more efficient to ship a package-especially with the extra airline charges)...

My kids always loved legos and once (what was I thinking) I let them play with them on the airplane...guess who was crawling around trying to collect all the dropped pieces...:scared1::laughing:

Looking foward to hearing about your stay at BWI...taffy on the pillows-sounds so nice....

Have a great trip:flower3:

Ya....I just wondered about it.....is there a DIS link? I need some info.:thumbsup2 But you explained it. ;) So basically it's just like Sky Cab...only at the resort. Gotcha.

If you do a limo you won't miss it.....are you doing ME or limo? If you do ME with SWA how do you handle your stuff??

Mare...uh oh....well...FOOD is a whole other ball game. I don't think ANY Disney store will move food. I know Zack bought some "NonStops" or something in NOrway...and they don't do food. These are like M&Ms...nothing even tricky.....I was told back then - not too long ago- that they don't deal in nonperishables.....so maybe you're SOL on the Gingerbread.:guilty:

Hey! got a ziploc? :rotfl: You could put them in there....Just kidding. ;)

I found little holiday paint sets at the dollar section in Target, Le Cellier is going to LOVE this! I'm desperate to try their famous mushroom filet mignon! :rotfl2:

Thankfully, Jet Blue has the TV sets to keep everyone busy. I love watching Good Morning America, DH watches the Map Quest  and the boys watch NICK. So everyones happy in the air! :)

Chan: Exactly! They just take your bags and give you boarding passes. If you use DME with a non-participating airline, you do they same thing as you do with your limo, the bellmen hold your luggage until DME arrives. They have storage under the bus for your bags.

I was planning on buying all my purchases at the different GF stores, then asking someone to send it all to the BWI. I was going to "hide" the cookies in the bag with all the Basin, Flip Flops and other GF items I have on my list :) I wasn't going to ask them to ship a gingerbread house or anything like that. I guess it all depends on how much stuff I buy. I guess if it's not bulky, I could always put it in my WDW tote and store it in a locker for the evening at MK. Never done that before, but always an option

WOW.....you gals have been pretty chatty today :rotfl: :rotfl:. I went grocery shopping.....AGAIN :headache:......seems like that's all I ever do :sad2:. I still have to run over to the school administration building to do whatever it is that needs to be done to sign up to substitute teach :teacher:. I've decided to give it a whirl and see how it goes :upsidedow. It will probably be a good 2 weeks or so atleast before I can sub because of all the paperwork and stuff that has to be done.....I didn't realize it was so involved .

Kristin......Sorry DS is sick . Atleast he'll get it out of his system before your trip so you can go without any worries of someone getting sick ;). BTW.....I LOVE that basket :thumbsup2.....and I'm sure your DS will love it too :goodvibes. Mickey is my favorite so anything having to do with him I go nuts over.......especially when it comes to Christmas stuff :santa:.

Vanessa......Sorry to hear about your FIL....I hope he has a speedy recovery .

BlueSkies.......It's actually sunny and in the 40s this afternoon :). Some of the snow is melting along the sides of the streets and stuff but we're due for more snow tomorrow night into Friday :headache:.....so I shouldn't get too excited about our 40 degree heatwave today :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Kelly......Have fun Saturday night :goodvibes.

Chan......Love the George Clooney pic :thumbsup2. I have always loved that man........he is so handsome . But I also love JD too.....but definitely NOT the pic you posted :rotfl: :rotfl:. We've never used RAC either......I always thought that was just for people who used ME :confused3. We've just always taken care of our luggage.....which has never been a problem......so I never even thought about using it .

Deb :flower3:

Deb Enjoy your heat wave!!:rotfl: We've got your cold weather today-no snow thank goodness ...

Congratulations on going back to teaching:teacher: subbing is a great way to get your feet wet again....

You'll need to tell them you need a computer in the classroom for a Dis break now then....

Channing I agree that George Clooney pic is :thumbsup2 like Kristin said though...I like my movie stars to be less political...still very nice to look at...

Well its time to get some stuff done...

TTYL:flower3:

Deb, I am enjoying the heat wave - as is my dog because she got to go for a walk....:goodvibes THat is awesome about the subbing!! As I said, my neighbor does it and she has enjoyed it. (and she does HS!!!!:scared1: )

I like George Clooney and his politics are OK by me.:thumbsup2 So I am good.:goodvibes (Although it does get on my nerves when peeps I DON"T like and agree with spout off about what they think is right:rotfl: so I understand)

Oooh..that popcorn thread is getting hot. :)

TTFN!!

Chan:goodvibes

Howdy Everyone!
Oh I have a tanning story for you.
They hand me this bottle and the lady then says that will be $170.00 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: .

Get rid of that bottle...i agree...could you bring your own lotion?

BTW: Having him home to see how I run this place has been stressful.....I am getting all kind of "mabey things would be smoother if you did this instead" comments  I finally had to tell him that things would be much smoother if he would go back to bed. :rolleyes1

If only anyone would tell me to go back to bed!! I'd let you mess the house up on purpose if i could sleep all day ahhhhhh

My DH got some campbells chicken soup :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Well, he thinks it is better than homemade, besides he only wanted the broth since the little stomach virus dehydrated him so much

You sound like my kids about wanting snow, they think that it should snow on Christmas morning (becasue every Christmas book ever has snowy scenes) and ask me all the time when it will....... now that it has been cold again they are asking and I have to explain why can't it snow in FL. :confused3 Poor kids, I finally told em' Jesus never saw snow and Christmas is his birthday! LOL!

I like both Campbells and liptons but when wifey home makes it ohhhh im under her spell....:lovestruc

And of course it should snow on Christmas eve and day....every year I say 'if its not going to snow all winter please please just give me christmas eve and day.

As for George Clooney, I will take a pass. I liked him a lot better when he was just an actor and not a high and mighty political activist. :sad2: It's great that he cares so passionately, I just don't need to hear about it ALL THE TIME!!! And get your butt back to ER for the final season and pay homage to where it all began, you ingrate!!!! :rolleyes1 (Sorry, really strong feelings on this!!)

Did you rip this out of my diary?? I swear I've said that exact paragraph a billion times!!

I dont have a diary by the way

Hey..maybe you can meet for drinks?:rotfl: Wasn't SuperSmart1 the guy that had the YC turret suite pics? Maybe he'll show you the pics.:cool2:

:goodvibes

I would love to see pics of that. I was planning a trip and the only room available was a turret suite.. I would love to see them.

24 hour Apple Store?? Do people really go there over night?

If anything should be 24 hours it should be a good pizza place :)

Since this is my first SW trip, I am REALLY going to miss it! :sad1:

FYI for you New Yorkers... iheard on the radio this morning that Southwest will start flying out of LaGuardia.

I'd like to respectively disagree if i may...please....I don't like any celebrities spouting off..ones i agree with or not..,,i just want to be entertained... to get lost from the real world...this is especially annoying at a concert...( like i really go anywhere but still...)

I guess if a business traveler has a computer emergency.... :confused3
Let me tell you, at 9:15 am the place was PACKED!! I've never been there before and honestly have no plans to return! :rotfl2: Although, DS1 thought the glass elevator was cool :thumbsup2

FYI for you New Yorkers... iheard on the radio this morning that Southwest will start flying out of LaGuardia.

When! :yay:

I like that they allow you to change flights without fees.

Wonder how this will impact Jet Blue? Can't wait to check out the new terminal T5 at JFK. Wonder what's so great/different about it?

Anyone can use RAC, whether you DME or not. You just have to be flying one of the particiapting airlines. There is a sticky about it on the top of the transportation board.

Chan, no limo for us in FL. We use a limo round trip here at home, and DH isn't about to pay for another round when DME is free, KWIM? We don't mind DME. The seats are comfy, there is a Disney video for the kids and we have always had GREAT service. We never have a line at the airport to check in when we arrive, we never wait more than a couple of minutes to get on a bus and we are ALWAYS at our hotel within 1 hour of wheels down. :worship: Plus, they get your luggage from baggage claim and it shows up in your room a few hours later- that alone makes it worth it!!!

Marvel- ITA with you about celebs keeping their mouths shut. There are some out there that I agree with, but when I am paying to be entertained, that is what I want- entertainment! If you want to talk politics book a segement on Fox News, CNN or the like. And as for celebs trying to forget "their roots" I don't get it. Why on earth would you not want to acknowledge what made you famous? :confused3 For George Clooney, that is ER. For Luke Perry it is 90210. For Eva Longoria it is The Young & The Restless etc.

BAsically I have to agree.:) ...but I love George Clooney...so whatever he has to say is OK by me.:rotfl: But I understand what you're saying....;)

Kristin thanks for the RAC info!! YES...I hear ya on the stupid limo costs.....

Chan

Same here! :thumbsup2

Never had problems with DME. Plus we take a car service van to and from the airport here in NYC and that each way, is a small fortune! But they provide carseats for the kids, arrive prompt and are large enough for all our stuff. So we avoid the limo in FL too.

BlueSkies........I figured I might as well give subbing a try......I really don't have anything to lose ;). I could sub as much or as little as I want.....plus I'm on the same schedule as the boys AND I have my summers off which is the BEST part of all :rotfl: :rotfl:. I went to the admin building about an hour ago and filled everything out. The lady said once they do the background check :scared1: (JK :rotfl:) and verify my college transcripts that I'll be put on the sub list :thumbsup2. They send the paperwork down to the state for a sub teaching certificate but she said I can start before I get that as long as everything else is verified because getting the certificate can take a couple of weeks . I told DH I need a laptop (YES.....I'm probably the ONLY one here who doesn't have a laptop ) so I can chat with my gals while I'm watching the kids :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Chan.......I am LOVING this 40 degree weather :thumbsup2. I see the snow melting by the minute :rotfl:. DS isn't going to be happy when he gets out of school because he was counting on going snowmobiling again tonight.....but I'm not sure there's gonna be much snow left with the sun still shining :rolleyes1. But to burst both of our bubbles........did you see it's supposed to be a HIGH of only 29 degrees Friday :scared1: :scared1:.

I'm starting with subbing at the middle school for now and see how it goes. DS15 already told me there's NO WAY NO HOW I'm subbing high school :rotfl: :rotfl:. I was telling my brother about that and he said he has to agree with my DS on this one because he would have been MORTIFIED had mom subbed at our school :lmao:. So I guess I'll give DS a break on this one . Plus with subbing I can take any and all trips to Disney any time of year without having to officially ask for days off :thumbsup2.

Kristin......We've never done ME but my neighbor went to Disney last year for the first time and they used it and she said it was so cool :). She said the bus is very comfy and they have DVDs to watch and it makes for a very fun ride to your resort :goodvibes. I can't believe you leave in 16 days :woohoo: :woohoo:.

Deb :cool2:

I could understand being busy at 9:15 as the business day has started..but over night? :confused3

I didnt hear when for southwest. I will check out the fares but i really dont see being pulled away from JetBlue because of the TVs...

exact same experience...:thumbsup2

My sister has always loved Luke Perry since he was on Loving

**WHEW** I was afraid you'd disagree and then have one of your "contacts" at RPC give me a bad room at Christmas :rotfl:
