So sorry for the loss of your lovely Mom. Obviously a woman of great taste, with her love of the GF.......It is so difficult to comprehend and accept when you lose someone ....even when you know the end is coming. It must be a bit harder when it comes so quickly. It is never easy, so give yourself permission to grieve at your own pace.

Beth, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother :grouphug: She looks so happy in those pictures, cherish those wonderful memories.

grannyminnie, :grouphug: for you too.

Don't apologize for venting here. Everybody needs some support every now and then. With that said, I hope things are going ok with your pup :grouphug:.
 Well said!

bethclayton:hug: I am sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing those pictures of your Mom! She was a beautiful lady, and she looks so happy in those pics! Prayers for you and your family, let us help you heal, grieve, and smile with warm memories. The GF family here, we understand :grouphug: and will always support you.

Thank you Maxie. One day at a time, both for BethClayton, who is already experiencing extreme sadness, and for me, who knows it is soon coming...:sad1:

 Your family is already experiencing loss, albeit not the final one. My heart goes out to you and bethclayton, losing a parent is hard.:grouphug:

Love this one! It is memories like these that you will always have.

i apologize because in these past few months i feel as though all i do is dump on you guys- first the job, then the dog, then this. things can only get better from here... right?! :scared1:

You know in my mom's time they called this having "pen pals". We are glad you confided with us.

Life is full of ups and downs so up should be soon enough:)

To lift everyone's spirits, here's a photo of one of the prettiest spots on the GF grounds.

Beth,
So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, know that she will be with you always, I hope you get through this difficult time with the love of your friends and family.

I know some of us have been wondering about the room renovation dates and details. I just saw this on EasyWDW (1/9/14) so I thought I would share:

"Speaking of the Grand Floridian, its rooms will be seeing a minor refurbishment from early 2014 through the end of July. Disruption should be minimal to nonexistent for most guests. All rooms will receive all-new carpet and wallpaper. The Conch Key building began January 5th. Boca Chica begins February 4th; Big Pine Key begins March 9th; Sago Key begins April 27; Sugar Loaf begins June 1; and the main building begins June 29."[/color]

Does this mean they're go in the direction on how the new villas are decorated???

I was blown away about how gorgeous the villas are. I'll probably have an unpopular opinion here, but I'm not the biggest fan on GF's wallpaper and bedspread, so I hope they get a similar treatment as the villas did. :D

I am truly so sorry for your loss, bethclayton. I am confident, though, that your mom is looking down on you now from the GF full of happiness and love. Remember that she is with you now and always. I am wishing you the best through this tough time and, as others have reiterated, please know that we will always be here to listen. :grouphug:

Yes, I've been out of town visiting my family. My mom is not doing well at all. Each visit is tinged with sadness...:worried: Thanks for your thoughts.

We are now the sandwich generation. Between our parents and kids.

Take faith in that our parents were such good role models for us:goodvibes

I cxld a disney anniversary trip with dh in May to visit his dad instead. He later died in October. My dh has been so thankful for that time with his dad and mil truly enjoyed the time with her grand kids last week. That's really all we can do. Give our time and love when we can.

Best to you and your family:flower3:

You're sure right about being the sandwich generation! I have thought about that many times, especially in the last couple of years. I still do treasure each visit I make to my parents every couple of weeks and love your comment..."give our time and love when we can". :goodvibes

Oh bethclayton! Thank you for sharing some happy times pictures. I hope these perfect memories might even be able to bring you a smile as you navigate these super hard first weeks of loss. Best love and thoughts to you and your family.

grannyminnie I will be thinking of you, too. It is so great that we love our moms so much that we are devastated to even contemplate losing them, but the very special love makes it one of the hardest losses to bear.
