Are you able to keep trying in case someone cancels or modifies their ressie?
I've been calling daily to try & get the room category I'd like & no luck yet..keep trying or ask at check in!!
There was no reason to send that response (letter) They were making it seem like you were trying to get something u didn't request or pay for!

Thanks for suggestion. I have been checking online everyday. I got such an awesome passholder rate for 9-11th but only cheaptickets 20% off on the 8th.

I just don't have patience to call. :faint:

Luckily dh doesn't care (or even asked ) how much I spent:worship:

I just told him I got a deal and he is happy:lovestruc

Maybe when closer to date I will try calling.

JoBird What beautiful pictures! Cant believe you took them on your ipad! ..:thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing them....

johnsonet Three resorts in one week! :moped: Wow! I would like to venture and try some of the other resorts at WDW..but never want to give up that GF stay...LOL...so I am thinking a split..or even a triple would give us that opportunity....When doing a triple..do you set aside just a resort day to be able to enjoy the feel of each resort??

MickeyNut Ok so maybe our trip is going to have to be a split..triple...who knows...LOL...who is going to do the planning??? I think that you are a better planner than I am! ::yes:: but..we have plenty of time to decide...and think on it...:scratchin

I too am curious about the walking paths that there will be between the VGF and main building...I would think that there will be a few...perhaps from the front and side exits of the building....?? :confused3

Hello,
I've never stayed at the GF before. We've done CR TPV once and Poly garden view twice. Thinking of staying at the GF next year (non-club level).
Can you watch Wishes from anywhere on property or do you need to have a TPV room?
Can you see Wishes from the lake view villas?
Anything going on at night for the kids? (We have 10yo, 8yo, and 4yo)
Any other tips for building choice for a first-timer?
Thanks!!

I just re-watched my video from monorail view.

I was on path from Poly to GF so that is one.

There is an entrance with car turnaround on end that faces Poly.(there will be walkway from there)

There is also a covered entrance on the 3 rd side facing GF.

It looks like there is a doorway from side facing water(lake view side) that would connect to the path I was on.

You are too funny :rotfl::rotfl:. My DH won't even consider another split between 2 resorts, let alone 3......so my only chance to try a triple split is on a girls trip so we'll have to keep that in mind when it comes to start planning ::yes::. I love planning, but it would be more fun for all of us to plan together :thumbsup2. The question of the day........which resorts???? :rotfl2:

What ARE you two up to?!? :lmao: ;)

Three in one week?! My goodness, it takes me a week to pack my unmentionables once. ;)

JoBird, thank you so much for the beautiful photos. We were at the GF in December. To see the progress made on the villas is quite stunning.

Yes, MommyGina- I agree. Poor drainage. In fact, the area that I *think* you are talking about that was flooded on the walkway is right next to a little path that says Cast Members only or something like that. It's a little detour around the huge puddle. We took it. :thumbsup2 There was nothing back there, only a walkway around the puddle?

Yes, it was where it said cast members only. You actually have a picture of that area. It is near the door for the entrance for cast/construction members. I know that while walking to the Poly, the rocks to the water were very close to me on my left. One slip and ... The area that has the poor drainage is close to the beginning of the construction walls walking to the Poly. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

Haha:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now my image of the day will be of me watching for people to splash into the "lagoon" when I have my lake view in January!

I am fortunate enough to be at the grand in Novemember before our villa trip and can't wait to check it out AGAIN:goodvibes

Thanks for posting those pictures, JoBird! And re:your comment that the pontoon boat was fun...you should do a fireworks cruise on one! Now that is a great experience!!:goodvibes

Good morning! We are staying in Sugar Loaf for the first time in December. We definitely don't want a room over the lobby, but we would like a marina view. Is there anything specific that I need to know? Is one end of the building better than the other (views, quiet, etc.?). Thanks in advance.

Congratulations! :goodvibes SL is a relatively small building...on the marina view side one end is closer to Gasparillas .. so perhaps a busier side of the building...and the other side is closer to Conch and the outer part of the marina..which may give you little better view of the monorail..and is probably quieter in general ....I would request marina view ..off atrium/lobby... FWIW We have stayed in rooms that are right over the atrium and really never have had a problem with noise though... Enjoy your first stay at the GF...I bet it won't be your last! :)

MommyGina Yikes on that watery walk way!!! :crutches:

I agree with Blueskies. I only stayed in SL once on 3rd floor over lobby and we didn't have any noise either. We had a pool facing room and even though we had requested a marina view, in the end the view we got was lovely.

For my family trip 1/1 I requested any on marina side OR pool side with full balcony due to space needed for 4.

Keeping fingers crossed for marina view. Ds and dh love boats and dd and I love view of monorail:goodvibes

With my last online check in I screen shot the page with hotel requests if anyone is curious.

Mind you, I am staying CL at RPC so these requests were useless:confused3

Disney needs better IT!:rolleyes1

Also from previous stays I know that if you chose at least one, then a box comes up asking if you want first available room to override the above requests.

I also have this. Curious that there is not a king TPV view when Junglecruiser posted a picture of one.

I really think there is something wrong with the Disney website. I checked our reservations on line and it said that my reservations needed attention. I called TA and she could not find anything wrong on her end.
