Hi,

I have a bad last half of my summer. With our stressful move before our last trip, My grandma spent a few days in the hospital, & yesterday we put our 10 year old cat down. :( Also I found out just last week that I have to go to school 3 days earilier than planned. I have to go 8/17. It's just not been the best summer.

Also last night I watched A fan's guide to WDW & it made me homesick!! Anyway, mom & I have decided not to bank points until we have to & unless they're aren't enough for a short trip anyway. Could really use a few days in HH now. But with vet bills, no points & no real time because I have to get ready for school. It's just bad timing! Sorry for venting.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles, and completely understand your need for a WDW fix. Maybe you could temporaily "dip" into your WDW fund and go for a pedicure or manicure, and while you are there close your eyes and pretend to be at the SSR spa! I know you don't want to spend right now, but maybe you could find a special or sale or go to a beauty school where they do them very cheaply. Sometimes something little like that can help pull you up after a bad time.JMHO:wave:

I completely understand Allison. It always helps me when I can look forward to a trip away. Just counting down and planning seem to help. In you situation I would try to work out a time for a long weekend in the spring perhaps. If you have to, get the vacation jar out, start throwing all your spare change and ask for Disney Dollars for Christmas. If you still don't think it's possible then try to do something for yourself, even a girls' night out or massage.
Sending a load of pixie dust your way!!!

I am so sorry...esp about your kitty!! They certainly do become our children. We have SEVERAL kitties (the number is too embarrassing to say) who are all getting up there, and my dog is 17 yrs old. I realize every day that those choices are getting closer and closer for me to make...it's awful. But, someone once told me that God designed them to have shorter lives because the need us to care for them. The real tragedy occurs when a pet outlives its owner. As awful as that thought is, it helped me somehow realize that we were designed to outlive them, and helps me to remember to "love" them everyday they are here. I hope it helps you, too.

Hi,

Thanks for the thoughts. A long weekend in during my spring break might do us some good. We'll have to see. Thanks again!

Alison - I'm sorry you're feeling down. You are always such a nice sunny person, I hope things turn around soon. The new Mickey Mouse DVD "Three Muskateers" goes on sale I think August 17th. Buy it and get a new dose of magic. Hope your feeling better soon. :grouphug:

I get caught up on little things easily. However, this is a reminder that life is too short..........................

I am sorry about Mary Ann but I am at a loss as to why this would cheer anyone up? If the point is the loss of a pet is sad but the loss of a person is sadder I respectfully disagree. Loss is loss and grief is grief and very real to the person experiencing it.

ITA about life being too short, and I am sure you had good motives for posting this, but I didn't find this link made me feel any better about Allison's loss.

So sorry about your kitty allison, I hope you know about the Rainbow Bridge.

I posted this because I find things more bearable when you see how bad things can be sometimes.

I learned about rainbow bridge when I lost my 13 1/2 year old golden retriever a month ago. It is absolutely devastating to lose a pet, he was part of the family, and will always be a part of me. I really hope mine is up there and if rainbow bridge is true, I will see him there one day.

Sorry if this is being interpreted differently.

I guess everyone is different, I'd rather read something uplifting when I am feeling down. I'm more than sure you had good intentions, and I hope some others DID find the post you linked helpful.

I guess I did at first think you were attempting to downplay the loss of the cat, and I am very sensitive to things like that. I've lost various dear pets, and unfortunately this past September my Mom died. I don't compare my losses, as each affected me in unique ways.

I apologize if I came off harsh to you. So sorry about your beloved retriever. Maybe he's playing with my wonderful Great Dane JB, gone almost 18 years but never ever forgotten. Although she lives on in my heart I have the same hopes you do that someday when the time comes JB and I will reunite in heaven.

Awww I'm sorry life has been throwing you through the mill lately.

As my mom always tells me "this too shall pass". In the mean time *hugs* for your struggles and wishes that the rotten stuff passes quickly!

So sorry about your pet too. That can be a toughie especially when it's mixed in with other stresses/struggles.

tinkgirl, I was really sorry to hear about your grandma being in the hospital. I hope she is feeling better. I'm also sorry to hear about your cat. I have a dog that is 14 and I know the day is coming when we'll have to say goodbye to him too. Just remember all the special memories!

Sending pixie dust your way that time flies until your next Disney vacation!

Allison...We have our first cat ever and love her very much! She is only two. I did lose two dogs. My first was 13 when he died; I was 16. Then, I got a dog at 21 and he had to be put down when he was 13. They leave behind such a void to fill!

I sure hope your Grandma is doing much better::yes::

My kids are 12 and 15 and believe it or not, I am not looking forward to Monday when they begin school again! Just when you get the routine of summer down pat, its over and you have to start over. Oh well, we'll just have to get used to it.

and take heart, you will be Disneying again soon according to your counter:teeth:
