Hi all, long time no speak! :wave2:

As my title states, we haven't been to DLRP since May 2009, and then visited WDW in 2010. We are 2 adults (24 and 26) and are toying with the idea of a 3 night/4 day trip in September. My work is pretty flexible with time off, boyfriends not so much so at the moment he has the week of the 2nd September off, the only other week he can get in September is the week of the 24th. Reading some older threads, I've realised that some of the English schools are still off the week of the 2nd, so would we be better going the last week? We're in Scotland so our schools go back in August, not that it affects us anyway but would rather go outwith school holidays so it's quiet!

We stayed at HNY last time and fancied Sequioa Lodge this time (liked the atmosphere there last time, we drank there instead of HNY) but HNY is coming up too expensive and SL isn't in the 40% offer :( Newport Bay is coming up with the best price and we're not too bothered by the walk. There doesn't seem to be any standard rooms available for our dates and from what I gather Admiral's Floor isn't really anything special? Depending on what week we choose NPB is coming up at £655.20 or £602.40, is this about average these days? Last time I'm sure we paid about £275 each including flights, we're looking at around £400 each!

We also had the Half Board vouchers last time, are these still deemed a good deal? I noticed there's a Full Board option now but to be honest, there's no way we'd eat that much!

Couple of other questions.....
- Other than the Toy Story Land, has much changed since 2009? I see there's a couple of new restaurants in Disney Village but anything else?
-Will Disney Dreams still be on in September?

Ooops, sorry for the long post but any advice greatly appreciated :)

Welcome back :goodvibes

The current offer finishes on 30 April I think, so there might another offer that suits you better in the next few weeks. Might be best to wait a while and see what comes available.

I'm sure Dreams will still be on in September, the extended opening hours have been advertised until the end of September, so you'll have extra time there at that time :thumbsup2

i would go the end of september :) been twice at this time and it was lovely weather and very quiet in parks and all the halloween stuff started going out which was nice to see too!

what about cheyenne? we stayed there last year and it was lovely...

personally i would hold off booking and see if a 'flash sale' comes up after end of april or even later in summer... 2 years ago we booked in the august for end of sept and got it for about £300 for family of 4... they way I look at it is there is usually always an offer on! but if you can get it during a flash sale it makes a huge difference...

we are now tied to school hols and also in scotland so we are going beginning of august...

have fun planning!

Thank you both, I see you're both fellow Scots too :goodvibes Can I ask how much you have paid for flights? I'm in Glasgow and Easyjet is really our only option, looking at £150-£200 for us both which I'm quite happy with.

You have both also worked out my other confusion, lol, not sure whether to get it booked before the 40% offer ends or hold out for a better offer! I remember last time we originally booked NPB and due to an offer HNY ended up being only £50 more so we upgraded to HNY. Is that still an option? I know you can't adjust if the price goes down.

We were lucky with the flight prices and booked during a sale. Easyjet from Glasgow to CDG - we paid £240 for 4 of us. I checked about a month ago and to book the very same flight would be nearly £500 now.

I think you can adjust your booking - many disers have done it, but some have also been unlucky. I think it depends on who you get on the other end of the phone.

we are originally from glasgow but now live up in the highlands but 3 times we have flown ryanair from prestwick then hired a car... was cheap as chips flights with the wee one costing more for her flight that we all did! could usually get cheap car hire too, if you are happy with the 150-200 id probably just go with that, we had to factor in parking at prestwick etc on those trips we stayed at davy crocketts so needed car. last year we drove to kent where my brother lives and did eurostar which was a fantastic option :) straight into parks etc and stayed at the cheyenne.

this time we are driving and ferry is £80 return...

be brave and hold off - im sure there will be another offer :)

Thanks again :)

Ms Poppins that's a fab flight price!

nl's mummy, any idea when the last flash sale was? And how often they've been happening?

i think last year there was one in mid may.. someone on here will know better than me though! there was one in the august in 2010 and one in december 2009 - thats the ones I can remember :)

Flash sales are usually within a few days of the standard offers finishing, so will hopefully there will be one along with in the next few weeks :goodvibes

Never guaranteed though, but that's been the general way it's worked out over the last couple of years.

Most English schools seem to be going back on the Wed or Thur of that first week in September but teachers will be back at work from Tuesday so it would be busier than week of 24th but I can't imagine it would be anywhere near as busy as the main summer period.

The flash sale will most likely start shortly after 30th April when the current offer runs out, however I wouldn't think it would be for as far ahead as September. Once the flash sale is over though, there will almost certainly be another offer of sorts. You're not going at a peak time so I would book your flights and then hang on for a good offer at the hotel. Or book the Cheyenne if you can get a good offer now with a view to upgrading if a better deal comes along.

I too am from Scotland (well the Shetland Islands) I'm booked for September (18th-23rd) and staying at the Newport Bay too! managed to get booked before all the standard rooms had gone so it was £850 for 5 nights (I upgraded after the 40% sale was released and got our BBWWS tickets included!)

We are flying from Edinburgh with easyjet to CDG and the flights worked out at about £100 PP. Not too bad really. The flight times seem to be better from EDI than GLA

Hello from another Scot :thumbsup2
We got Cheyenne for the week of 10th sept at 40% off - id echo the advice of the others that you should book the best available offer now with a view to upgrading if another offer comes up. I don't like leaving it to chance!
Easyjet is definitely the best option - flying into Charles de Gaulle is really handy for DLP plus they're not as sneaky as Ryanair with fees!
