How many of you out there have used Pal Mickey? Can you tell me what he's like, how he works, etc.? I'd love to hear more about him. My friend's that I take to Disney call me their lifesize Pal Mickey! LOL

For our Christmas trip last year, we requested 2 pal Mickey's to be waiting in our room for our children on arrival at the AKL-C. They went above and beyond the call of duty and left beautifully wrapped gift boxes with signed welcome cards for the children. It was magical walking into the room.

At any rate, the children 6 & 4 at the time, loved them and still play around with them almost a year after. They'll get some use out of them again in a few weeks.

Pal Mickey basically chats to you about parks facts and scheduling, filling between time with jokes a child would appreciate.

I've seen many, many adults who carry them around and enjoy them.

When my best friend took his family to the WL-C, I called up their staff and requested a pal Mickey for their room. My friend said his wife was nearly in tears, so I know that their staff went A&BTCD too.

Their kids shared pal Mickey, but my friend's wife ended up being the "caretaker". My friend said she enjoyed him as much as the kids.

How did you get it delivered to your room before check in? Did you call the resort the day before or the day of your arrival? I'd like to do this but am unsure how to go about it. I'd hate to make arrangements and go into the room and have it not be there. Thanks!

Our Pal Mickey from August '03 just got new batteries for our trip in two weeks!! He's all set to go. He tells jokes, tells you where you are in a given park, and he even gives some of the wait times for some attractions.....dd says he says..."Hey, I hear there isn't a very long line at Space Mt., Let's go check it out!!"

We stayed Concierge and did it through their staff, but they can also refer you to someone say, at a store at the hotel or somewhere who may be able to arrange it for you if you want. Just call up and ask, they can probably work something out for you. Disney's about "Magic" so I'm certain they'll make it happen.

Also, as you were concerned, when you check in, it may take "extra time" to get your room ready and place the doll in the room. So be prepared...

Just an FYI.
On the Budget Board they have a phone number where you can order Pal Mickey for $27.99 plus $10.99 shipping. which is a lot less than the $60.00 they charge at Disney World. So many people have ordered them that they sold out but they got another shipment in. Just go to the Pal Mickey Cost thread and you can get the info there. I just ordered mine Wednesday for our December trip.

Well, I guess this is one of the advantages of booking Concierge.

This is something that I wanted to do for our 5yo son. I just spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the resort -- I spoke with the operator, the front desk, and directly with someone at the gift shop. It was finally concluded that it could not be arranged ahead of time to have it waiting in the room unless we were Concierge level guests.

Oh well, I'll just go back to my original plan of picking it up as soon as we get there. At least I did verify that our resort's gift shop has them! :earsboy:

I just ordered 2 for my DD's for our Dec. Trip. I am looking forward to seeing them work :D
