If you have stayed at AKL what was one little detail that you found amazing. Like art work, a particular CM telling you a story, a detail in your room, really anything you really liked.
The one thing that I found most amazing was sitting on my balcony watching the animals, especially the giraffes and zebras.
I also loved walking into the lobby after spending a day at one of the parks--the atmosphere and smells from the restaurants. The beds were comfortable, and it is a nice resort, but that is about all I can say about it. We won't be staying there again.

http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/AKL comments.htmWHY??? Please explain.
Are the beds a little more comfotable than the average hotel?
It just didn't give me the WOW factor that WL did and it is sooooo far from everywhere, except AK park that we just didn't enjoy it. We spend most of out time at MK and it took a goo 20 minutes to get there and close to 30 minutes to get to DTD. The room was nice and the beds were really nice and comfy. If you want to be away form everything, this is the place to stay, but other wise it is not.

This just goes to show how there is something for every taste at Disney.
In 2006 we stayed 1 week at AKL followed by 1 week at WL. All we did at WL was wish we were back at AKL, for the same reason as the above poster felt, WL just didn't give us the WOW factor that AKL did. We loved the atmosphere of AKL. While we appreciated that WL's grounds were very pretty, we felt that it just didn't have that something special that made it so totally unique the way that AKL does.
That's just how we feel.
I'm sure you won't regret your stay at AKL. As for the "one" detail we found amazing... well I could never choose just one. We love all the details!
Have a great time!

I thought they were alot more comfortable than the average hotel and even better than some of the other resorts. I would describe them as soft and cushy, kinda like sleeping on a fluffy pillow.

I had to LOL at this because I am currently laying on the sofabed in my AKV studio because I woke up with a backache after sleeping on the bed my first two days here. I started sleeping on the sofabed and I woke up fine! Both of my children are sleeping on it too - they both said they like it better than the "real" bed.![]()
It could be that it's too soft though, I don't know. I just know it feels fine when I fall asleep but I'm in pain in the morning.
I guess I was probably comparing it to my bed at home, well which isn't really a bed, more of a mattress and box springs on the floor. I do just remember not wanting to get up out of it, but I don't remember if I was hurting afterwards or not.
