Has anyone shipped a suitcase? I am helping a friend who is moving to Florida drive down, so NO space in the car for my vacation suitcase. I originally thought I would just ship a box of my stuff down to the resort. (Just what I would pack in my suitcase.) But I will be flying back, and want to bring my suitcase back on the plane with me, rather than mess around and waste valuable vacation time trying to ship a box back. I won't have a car there. So the simplest thing would be to ship a packed suitcase, rather than a box.
Do you put the suitcase in a box? What keeps anyone from going through your suitcase in the week it is out of your sight? Recommendations? Personal experiences?
Has anyone shipped a suitcase via UPS?

We looked into it awhile ago - just google "ship a suitcase". There are many providers, including UPS

It turned out to be quite a bit more than we wanted to pay - definitely more than the $50 for the airlines

When I was sending my tree for the Christmas tree exchange I asked them at UPS Store if they ship suitcases and said they do.

What about shipping your stuff down in a box and bringing an empty duffel bag with you in the car? Then you could pack the stuff in the duffel bag for the plane ride home.

From what I saw the suitcase goes directly in the box. When I packed my tree at the store the tree and goodies went in, got packaged, taped & labeled. I proceeded to pay. They offered me insurance on the contents. The box gets shipped with a tracking number and it didn't sit in the store a week. UPS picks up daily from the UPS store. From there you can track.
