DH & I have tickets to Mama Mia this Friday night in San Francisco. We'll probably get into the City early enough to get some dinner near the theatre. Have you seen it and what did you think? DH says that this wouldn't be his first choice of a show to see, but our friends had an extra pair of tix and offered them to us. (Of course, DH isn't a big fan of going in to the Big City anyway!) I'm looking forward to the ABBA music!

It is AWESOME! You'll be dancing in the isles. We saw it when it first opened in Toronto about 4 yrs ago.
Have FUN!:D

I saw it on Broadway last year. Hopefully you like ABBA music because that's the music in the whole show. We were dancing in the aisles at the end of the show, it was excellent.

Our Broadway Theater League is showing this in June. I was going to give our tickets to my parents, but after the last time we were in NY, everyone was raving so much about it that we decided to buy an extra set of tickets so my parents can see it and so can we. I'm actually looking forward to it... but I'm NOT an Abba fan.

Your husband may be pleasantly surprised.
My husband didn't give me a hard time about going, but I'm sure it would not have been his first choice of a show to see.
We saw it in Toronto and he liked it alot.

I'd like to see it. I've heard wonderful things about it.....:D

even my dh who was hesitant had to admit that it was good!!
It just makes you smile.

We saw in in Washington D.C. a couple of years ago and loved. I am a big ABBA Fan so I really enjoyed the music. Went out afterwards and bought ABBA - Gold - their greatest hits and it includes all of the songs from the show.
When you go try to keep in mind it is not "serious, thought provoking theatre", it is great music and a fun show.

I haven't yet, but it's next on our list! (My girlfriends & I go into the city 2x a year for a show & dinner.)

It's suppost to be fantastic! Even those who don't like ABBA loved the show.

Let me know what you think!

I really enjoyed the music and the show was cute. Unfortunately, I found that "they" (the show creators, I guess) tried too hard to create a story where none existed in order to use all the songs. I found that detracted from the show, but I still enjoyed it. You'll have fun!

I've seen it 2 times! Once a couple of years ago in London. Then this past October in Ft.Worth. Loved it both times. If you practice up on your ABBA songs it makes it even more fun!

I just saw it this month on Broadway in NYC. We loved it! It was a fun show with great music that made you want to get up and dance. I heard the audience danced in the aisles, but this particular audience did not. I've never been a great ABBA fan (never owned any of their albums) but after seeing this show, I bought the soundtrack and have enjoyed listening to the music in the car.

DH and I saw it in Las Vegas when it first opened last year. The music is fantastic and the plot is cute. We liked it so much that we got my parents and grandmother tickets when they visited Las Vegas later in the year. My mom loved. My dad thought it was pretty good. Grandma, though, hated it. Although she thought the music was o.k., she absolutely could not relate to the plot. In fact, she had a few choice words about its moral message.

I was actually listening to the soundtrack in my car on the way to work this morning. I LOVED it. I was surprised how much I actually got sucked into the storyline. You will enjoy it and I bet your husband will be pleasantly surprised as well.

I went with a group of ladies for a "girls-night-out." We had a great time, and the show was fun. I'd recommend buying the soundtrack in advance, and brushing up on your ABBA.

I saw it during the summer and loved it, I thought it was great

Me and my family saw it in Vegas at Mandalay Bay over the summer. It was enjoyable. The music is what makes it fun and appealling. I can honestly say some parts were slow and the story itself was kinda blah...but i did enjoy it. It's fun if you like ABBA.
