Have you rented/driven a UHAUL? Advice please...

My first suggestion would be make absolutely sure that all of your belongings will fit in the size truck that you choose. We got the largest available, but unfortunately ran out of room. We had to get a second truck since it was a long distance move.

My next suggestion would be take the insurance. I'm so glad we did. The second truck had a car hauler behind it, and my Dad hit our realtor's car when trying to park it in the street.

We just moved from PA to TX and were going to rent a U-haul and pull one of our cars. But a friend told us about ABF U-pack. Believe it or not it actually was cheaper and we didn't have to drive the truck. They drop off the trailer and you pack it. Then after it's packed you call them to come pick it up and they drive it to your destination and drop it off. You unpack it and then call them again to come pick it up.

This is what we ended up with, and thank you so much for this advice!Not only was it cheaper, but now I will not have to two my car and spend a million dollars on gas.

We ended up renting a UHAUL to pick up some furniture last weekend to "test it out" the thing was chugging along like it was going to die any second and it was pulling to the right. I knew at that moment there was no way I was trusting this company to provide me a safe reliable truck to get all the way to the new home. Oh and the short trip to get the furniture took 50 bucks worth of gas, so the fuel costs would have been astronomical. SO ABF is going to be WAAAAAAYY less!

I can't thank you enough! You saved me from driving a truck towing a car across the country & some cash!
