I just found out my waitlist came through yesterday!
Only problem is, it only came through for the first night.
It still saves me enough points to be able to add a night in December.
I will be in a studio the first night (Sat) and moving to a 1 bed-on Sunday.
Can anyone tell me how I move? Will they help us? Will we be shut out of our room for a period, or be able to go right from one room to the new one?

We have never used Disney's services to move, but most people who report about it here are pleased. Bell services will do it. You probably will be without a room for part of the day, but you may be lucky and get into the new room in a timely fashion. Bell services will even store your cold/frozen foods if you have any. Are you in the same resort?

Are you continuing on the wait list?

Yes, I am in a pdf studio in BWV for Sat 9/1, then a 1 bed std in BWV for 9/2-9/5. I have the 2nd-5th waitlisted. They said all the nights except 9/2 are available, so I am still hoping. 9/2 is the night before Labor Day though.
They told me there is still a chance though.
Thanks for the info!

We have done it 1-2 times each trip. Dhotel to Dvc to dhotel and only once did we have a problem. It was New Years day and bell service took 6 hours to get our luggage to SSR from All star Movies. It was also one of the busiest days of the year. SO I did understand. You can go and check into your room whenever you want then the Cm will give you a phone number to call to see if your room is ready, and you already have keys so you can then go straight to your room. It really is very easy and usually painless. Good luck with it.

I guess I should avoid unpacking then until I move, right?

There are 6 of us so usually if we are at a resort for a short while I will have one bag with everyones things for that resort. Also I forgot to add earlier that bell service is very quick but, you do not even have to be there when they come (just leave tip under largest bag;) ) and like "magic " everything gets to where you are going. We have never missplaced or lost a bag. If you are at the same resort then there really should not be any problems at all. Have fun:cool1:

Unfortunately, you'll be homeless from 11AM to 4PM at a minimum, unless your one bedroom is available early.

Either the system has changed since we last changed DVC resorts (in January), or it changed since Coffman6 last used it...

We moved from OKW to SSR to BWV/PV to BWV/SV last January...3 moves (Fri night, Sat night & Sun night)...

Each time, the "old resort" gave us our choice between sending bell services to our room to pick up our bags, or bringing them to bell services ourselves ...all inter-resort transfers take place between 1 & 3...so no possibility of getting bags in the new resort til after 3 (or so they told us and it turned out to be true all 3 times)...finally, they told us at each move that Bell Services would not deliver our luggage to our new resort room unless we were physically present to receive it. (This is different from the ME luggage delivery service...ME luggage delivery does leave baggage in rooms whether or not someone is present to receive it.)

The first of the three moves we got messed up by the timing (we left OKW at 8 a.m. and couldn't get our luggage at SSR til after 3), and the in-room-to-receive requirement really messed us up, too...after that we got used to it and planned around it and it was easy--all that first "mess-up" was because we had expected ME-type luggage delivery rather than the system Disney uses for inter-resort luggage delivery--the two systems really are quite different...

So, that was the system in January 2006...
