Have you made funeral plans?

::yes::

Not much to debate though - he's made up his mind, as have I. He wants to be sprinkled on a golf course...

Did I mention my DH left at 11:00 this morning for a golf tournament? I'm sitting here drinking chardonnay by myself and DISing.

DH and I have discussed it quite a bit. Cremation, no long, dreary memorial services. Some good music, food and drink and hopefully a few laughs instead of all tears.

And I want some of my ashes scattered at WDW, even if it's not allowed. DH has a unique way of finding ways around things.;)

Me too! In the lake in front of BWV!
(I can see it now...2 AM... DW scurrying out to the rail and dumping me in the lake! AHHH!)

DH has made it clear that he wants to be cremated and I want the same for myself.

I have had to "shop" for coffins two times in my life, for my dad and my MIL, and it was the most morbid thing I ever had to do. It was a very depressing room filled with all the different coffins available.

I want my ashes to be scattered somewhere along the Gulf coast of FL.

Have not made funeral plans for self or hubby but did just recently participate in the preplanning of MIL's funeral. Picked out everything and such and prepayed for same. The price is locked in and can be transferred to any funeral home in the country.

We just discussed that a few weeks ago.. My MOM passed away 3 weeks ago and had everything paid for and planned .. picked out the casket, had bought the plot, the headstone.etc..
So I had mentioned to DH that we should start to think about it.. but he isn't interested in discussing this.. I guess that he is hoping that he will go first and that I will take care of it..

My DH knows my wishes and I know his but I suppose we need to write them down in case we both go at the same time!

DH and I have our plot, it's a 5-grave plot so there's room for the rest of our family if they want to be buried there. Especially if everyone gets cremated, you are allowed up to 4 people per grave! :teeth:

DH and I will probably be cremated, he knows I would like to be but he hasn't voiced his opinion for/against it for him. We are rapidly approaching 50 (gulp) so I guess we should really sit down and talk about it and get some things written down.

No "funeral" for either of us, just a private graveside service with immediate family and possibly a few close friends.

I would like to purchase our head stone one of these days, so we can choose it together.

We havent yet but I would like to. It was really hard when I had to make the arrangements for my moms funeral so I really dont want the boys to have to do that.

Echoing another poster's words, it's not morbid, it's practical to plan one's funeral arangements.

I've told my parents that I want my organs to be donated. I'm leaning towards having my body donated to science after that-the medical schools take care of the expenses I believe and when they are done with the body they return it to the family. I eventually would like to be cremated, and my ashes spread over the sea near England. If my heirs want a service of any kind than they can pay for it themselves. Read Jessica Mitford's book to see why. My $$$ will be going to charities.

I know excatly what I want. Donate what can be used and cremate the rest. No viewing, no funeral just a big ole Irish Wake.
Toast me, roast me and have a great time!! I want my ashes to be mixed with DH's and spread together under the tree that we planted when we bought our home (our 1st)

For those of you who want a party thrown in your memory there is this cute song "Keg On My Coffin" that you may enjoy. I can post the lyrics tomorrow if anyone is interested.
