Have You Had Any Luck . . .???

Has anyone had any luck getting ressies on short notice the week before Easter? Anyone called recently & know about availability? I can't hardly wait to call MS tomorrow, so I thought I'd see what the experiences are out there. We just got an opportunity to "get out of Dodge", but I'm afraid we'll be too late. Thanks for any input!

You'll never know until you try. I think the week before and the week after are typically one of the busiest of the year, but around the 30 day mark, people may make some cancellations if their plans are iffy (to avoid points going into their holding account).

I would say just get on a waitlist and wish for lots of pixie dust. Here's your first "dusting".

i had called friday about using some left over points to upgrade to a 1 bedroom for one night, ms said nothing at the beach club on sunday -wed. then she was going to call the resort direct for thurs. and i told her not to because we are going to the parks all day thurs. and i didnt want to waste the points on a 1 bedroom when were not going to be there, except sleep and check out the next day for the poly.

if you cant get a dvc you might be able to pay cash at the other resorts, good luck let us know, what happened

Well, call MS first thing this a.m. & remarkably, got right through. The only availability was for the first night in a 2 BR at OKW. They did, however, have availability at POR & CSR for 2 connecting rooms...I was surprised b/c the points were actually cheaper than what's listed in our member guidebook. Come to find out, I never received a vacation planner insert w/ the updated point charts.

Anyhow, I did not think the points were bad, but I don't know about any of the moderates. We've only stayed at the AS Sports, AKL, YC, & BCV. I looked into paying cash, but without any available discounts, I can't really justify it vs. points (the rooms are 18 pts each, which is less than the rate published for 2003 in my guidebook for value season???) So, I'll take any advice anyone wants to dish out...They had decent availability, so I have a bit to decide!
