Many times, but not since the new policy was implemented. I have witnessed a number of them and they looked to be pretty much the same as the old ones.

My bag seems to always wind up in inspection for some reason. This last time flying, they started the line up process while I was still in the security line. Then they started loading as my bag was going through. Of course my bag wound up in inspection with a rude snarky girl.
It was Southwest, my line number was like B20, and they just got done loading B1-30 when I ran up.

I always find it frustrating when I can fly one way with some thing, and not fly back with the same item. One time from MCO to DFW and back, I flew with a tube of toothpaste, and couldn't take it home. From San Fran to DAL, I flew with a pairing knife that was stuck in the front pocket of my old lunch bag (the same lunch bag I used to take to work at Disney and rarely used it since 08). Leaving DAL I couldn't take it back. The funny thing is too, I made it through two security checks with that stupid little pairing knife, because of a plan change in San Diego, and I had to go to terminal 1.

I had one in April. It was my fault. I wore a pair of shorts that I love to go to WDW but forgot that they have metal grommets all over them and metal buckles. The woman who did the pat down was very nice and professional about it. She even apologized because she could see the reason I kept beeping but it was the rules. I was actually amused and remembered not to wear the shorts on my October trip. My DH had one on the October trip due to a medical condition and his refusal to remove his shoes. The TSA people couldn't have been nicer then that time also.

I had the luck to be chosen to be "x-rayed" AND patted down! It was the most bizarre experience ever. This was about 2 months ago in the Greater Cincinnati Airport. I had a blouse on that was elbow length and full. The TSA agent asked me to hold out my arms shoulder level to the sides. She did a full grope and pat down starting at my left wrist and ending with a left **** squeeze (not a back of the hand feel---it was a SQUEEZE!--I'm a 42 DD--I KNOW what a squeeze feels like:)). She only did the left side only. My right **** could have been packed with C4:confused3 I was not offered the opportunity to be patted down in private but it was in front of God, country and all creatures great and small.

I'm not usually a freaky, overly sensitive person, BUT this was a bit weird feeling.

I had the new x ray and my husband had the thorough pat down a few weeks ago on our way to Egypt.

I was the lucky winner of an x-ray and pat down at Baltimore Intl. airport in June. I was selected prior to entering any metal detectors, so I assume that I was just randomly selected and not because I set off any red flags. I put my things on the conveyer belt and handed my ticket to the tsa agent. They then pointe me to the x-ray machine. It took maybe a minute longer for me to clear security than the rest of my family. I was a little shy about the pat-down, but it wasn't the end of the world.

I have had them when we go thru security and I have had them where you board the plane.

My DH swears that they pick me on purpose. He travels for work and says no one he flys with for work ever gets picked. It's just me. :confused3

No. We flew out of Philly in November and we went through the old metal detectors. I'm actually afraid to fly now, because I have a dialysis catheter and I don't want to have to show it to TSA.

I have never had the pat down but I did have to do the x-ray on my way to Orlando last month. Only took about 3 seconds.

I voted no since I have not been felt up since the new regs went into place.
I have learned when flying to remove my hoodie sweatshirt, which is my travel garment of choice along with snug jeans and slip on shoes. The hoodie is too baggy and it used to always get me double scrutiny. Now I remove it, toss it into the bin and walk on thru the detectors with a camisole style (snug) top on. So far this has worked well.
I have not been in any airports yet that have the scanners.

My brother and his wife flew from San Jose to somewhere in Carolina for Thanksgiving, they were scanned where applicable and never groped. Bro said in Dallas he left the secured area to go smoke and so was scanned there also with no additional scrutiny.

With the new systems, I have no choice but to do the pat down. I could stand long enough to walk though the metal detectors (but not always). I cannot, however, raise my right arm above my head at all, and therefore I must do the pat down...

Ah the joys of using a wheelchair!

well, Midway Airport started using the scanners today, DD will have to decide if she wants the grope or the scan for her return trip to school. She is NOT happy! Sigh....I hope she goes scanner, but she travles with so much gear, Wii, Wacom tablet, laptop,camera,phone...she will more than likely get searched as well.

I haven't had a patdown here in the USA yet but all the times I've flown into Germany, I've gotten a very thorough patdown from a very efficient German woman.

:)

I have not had the "new" one in the US yet. I have had (and all of my family has at some time or another) pat downs in European airports, which I think are comparable.

I expect to be able to say yes after the holidays. Our family of four will be, between us, on 14 airplanes and going through 9 airports (7 in the USA) in the three weeks around Christmas/New Years. Odds are in favour of us getting patted down somewhere along the way:lmao:

No, but my 15 year old daughter was chosen to get one at MCO last night. She had on an oversize hoodie, so they chose her because it was so bulky. They let me wait with her in the box for all of about two minutes. The woman who patted her down was quick, efficient and professional. Absolutely nothing to it. Yes, she did touch my daughter "everywhere," but it was so quickly done there was no time for embarrassment. Didn't bother my daughter at all.

Nope and with all the problems/delays all these new rules have caused, if I can't drive it...I'm not going.

No. The last time I flew was 2008, and had to go through the "take off your shoes" nonesense. I don't plan on flying again until there is a change in policy.
