Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Dh and I had a long heart to heart and reluctantly agreed that we would get the vaccine as his parents are 80+ and his dad is currently hospitalized with an infection. Given this scenario we decided on J & J. Found a local place and went same day. I am over 24 hrs out and experienced NO side effects. I will now pray that FIL recovers and neither of us develop some mysterious illness in 5 years. I do not feel any euphoria or giddyness some have reported but then we weren't really in hiding for the last year.

Thank you for getting vaccinated. I truly appreciate everyone doing their part.

Got my 2nd Pfizer yesterday afternoon(about 30 hours ago), and have no major side effects to report. My arm was less sore this time than the first, and honestly with my seasonal allergies and my "monthlies" coming up I wouldn't even be able to tell if the mild brain fog and tiredness was from that or the vaccine, since it's something I experience on a regular basis anyway. The only way I'd know for sure is if the feelings were more extreme than usual, or if I experienced fever, chills, body aches, or nausea, which I did not (So far, hah).

I did make sure I hydrated well the day before and the day of the shot, with both water and Gatorade. There's no way of knowing if it actually helped or if my body would have reacted the same way regardless of any extra precautionary measures, but I figured hydration is always a good thing to help your body fight the good fight.

So I am now more than 48 hours post 2nd Pfizer vaccine and I am happy to report that there were NO side effects, my arm was even barely sore. My daughter also had no adverse side effects. Her arm was a little sore for about a day.

A few things to note. I had the shot in the opposite arm than the first. My daughter had it in the same arm. We both hydrated well the day before & day of.

One thing that my daughter noticed is that the lot number of her first vaccine that was texted after the 1st vaccine is different than what is on her vaccination card. I took a look at mine and mine too was different. I know that this will only be issue if there is some problem identified with certain lot numbers.

I feel much better almost 48 hour out and I’m looking forward to the next one. I spent the day binging Call the Midwife, one of my favorites that I haven’t watched in over a year, and felt zero guilt even though my kitchen was a mess (I wasn’t eating = I wasn’t cleaning).

Off topic, but that is one of my all time favorite shows!

It wasn't really a decision just kind of how it happen. The chair was facing one direction when I had the first dose and the other way with the second dose.

My 16 YO son just got his second Pfizer dose. After the first he was just a little more tired than usual and slept a lot of the weekend. He already told me Friday that the thinks he'll probably be too tired for school on Monday, lol! I told him hopefully he'll be well rested enough to make me breakfast on Mother's Day!

Our school department sent home a letter this week that said if students/families choose to share proof of vaccination, then the student would not have to quarantine or miss sports/extracurricular activities if he/she is identified as a close contact of a + case, which I appreciate as we've had a lot of school/activity disruptions due to outbreaks at the school.

I’m not the person who posted, but I got my 2nd shot in the opposite arm as well. I wasn’t thinking the first time and got the shot on the same side where I sleep. I wised up the 2nd time around!

That was going to be my guess. I've thought about doing that with my second shot for the same reason as you, but realize if my dominant arm was going to be sore like my first was well..

I never heard this. Where are you? How can they do this without having everyone in hot spots done the first shot.. it must be working getting that first shot Toronto numbers are really coming down. Peel is still pretty high today.

We are in Niagara Ontario. The CBC News announcing it. The Hotspots are now including 'Hamilton' 30 minutes drive for us to the already Hot Spots Toronto. Peel ie.

It would now seem that they are meaning by mixing serums?

The second shot of Shingrex went into my left and there was nothing even remotely like the side effects with the first. I figured my left arm is luckier. When the blessed day finally comes that my second shot of AZ is available it will go in my left arm too - no reason to mess with a good thing.

One wonders how anybody is ever going to get their second shots. 1.69 million first doses have been administered since January and as of yesterday Alberta opened up eligibility for everybody 12 and over with Pfizer. I don't think I know anybody (except maybe the residents of LTC facilities who were in Phase 1 back in January) who is fully vaccinated.

I held off my second shingles shot to get the Covid one. Well have to get it in June before my second shot for Covid . Hope I don’t get side effects from that one. Was only tired with the first one.
