SameI skipped right past the vaccine and just got COVID instead.
I’m going to ask that those of you who pray, please pray for us frontline healthcare workers who are getting this now, that we all do ok with it, and that we can get back to taking care of our patients asap!Amen! And thank you! ❤
Our governor has stated that teachers will be in Group 1b, so my daughters should be getting the vaccine soon. I'll let everyone know how it goes for them.
There's some debate about whether those who've already had COVID will benefit from receiving the vaccine. And, of course, there's not really any way of knowing for sure, right now.Are you allowed to get one since you’ve already had covid?
My cousin who is an MD said he would gave to check the guidelines since he had covid. I guess we will see. There's some debate about whether those who've already had COVID will benefit from receiving the vaccine. And, of course, there's not really any way of knowing for sure, right now.

My sister is tier 1 at her hospital. I’ll let you all know when she gets it. I would be fairly high as a teacher but I have covid now so I don’t think they will let me have it for 3 months. Idk
I love that prioritization. It's a bit more aggressive in targeting the seniors in care homes than ours here in Canada. Given our statistics, they should absolutely be the first group protected. This is the order it's been given in the UK. I'm an NHS nurse and our Trust has taken delivery of the vaccine, but I haven't heard when it will happen yet:
Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
– All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
– All those 75 years of age and over
– All those 70 years of age and over and people deemed to be clinically extremely vulnerable
– All those 65 years of age and over
– All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality
– All those 60 years of age and over
– All those 55 years of age and over
– All those 50 years of age and over.
Thank you. It’s not fun but my vitals are good right nowI hope you recover quickly. Best of luck to you.
I'm in Ohio and the governor tweeted that frontline workers at OSU Wexner Medical Center and University of Cincinnati Medical center were vaccinated today. Eight other locations start vaccinations tomorrow.![]()

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about it, or didn’t have concerns, etc.
But I feel like I’d rather take my chances with the vaccine than with Covid.
I do want to get back to normal. But I don't have any fear of going to a restaurant, or anything else. Other than lack of being able to do things my life has pretty much stayed the same this year. I've still had to go to work every day, my kids have still gone to school or daycare everyday. I've still had to go grocery shopping bc no place here does curbside pickup or delivery. There is no door dash or grubhub or anything else where I live. When you don't have a choice but to do some thing, you lose your fear of it pretty quickly. I figure I'm going to catch it at work from the other employees who don't take precautions outside of work then come to work before they know they are sick. Or one of the new patients who comes in. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't caught it yet. Please don't think I'm downplaying anyone elses fears, bc they are valid fears. I want everyone to be able to do the things some of us have been doing this whole time WITHOUT being afraid of catching it. And also I hope that this works because the one thing I am truly afraid of is the economic collapse that is going to happen if we don't get this under control soon. So I'll do my part and get the vaccine as soon as it's available for me.This is how I feel. I want to get back to living life. I want to travel. I want to eat in a restaurant without fear. I want to visit elderly family members.

I should add that none of us in my house have any underlying conditions and I don't have any elderly relatives that I worry about getting sick.

From what I’ve read and from what we’re being told, there is about a 25% chance we will have symptoms that could be pretty severe but should only last about 24 hrs. They’ve asked that we get the vaccine during a time when we’re off for a few days, so we don’t have to call in sick, if possible. Timing’s a little difficult with the holiday approaching and such, but I think it’s important to jump right in when I can, so I’ll be paying attention to scheduling this week.

If only you knew the struggles that person has had you wouldn't say that at all to them.It is a privilege to not fear getting ill. You are making choices based on this privilege, not because you don't have a choice. You apparently can miss work for the length of illness and/or quarantine, not worry about being too sick to take care of your kids, no worries about bills getting paid, etc.
It is NOT like that for everyone.

I understandI can only go off what they post here in this thread.![]()
Prayers from this Canadian!
