Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

I'm 60 and in good health, but I have not gotten the vax. Over the years, I've had extreme reactions to various chemicals ingested or injected, that ranged from an anaphylactic shock, hospitalizations, 911 calls and a six year localized reaction. All those crazy things are making me approach this with extreme caution.

Not antivax at all. After researching the various vaccine, I like what the data say about the Novavax vax.

good luck honey, we all got to do what’s best for us individually.

Has anyone experienced psychological symptoms after the shots? I swear DH and I are so cranky with each other since getting the J&J shot two weeks ago.

I was tired for a few weeks after my J & J --- but I am sure if I was with my EX-wife, I would be cranky as all heck !!! :))

Just scheduled my app't for first shot of Moderna for this Friday. Can't say I am overjoyed about it, but I would like to give my 4 yr old grandson, who lives with us, as much herd protection as possible. His mother doesn't plan on getting it, nor does my DH.

DS23 was high risk, so he had both shots of Moderna a while ago. Fatigue with first, swollen lymph node with second. Currently in Hawaii visiting a friend.

DD21 gets her second shot of Moderna in 2 weeks. No side effects at all with first shot other than sore arm for a day or two.

Hoping I am as symptom free/minor as my kids were, which is why I chose the Moderna. 🤞

I'm sorry to hear his mother won't get her shot, but I'm proud of you for getting yours!

She is a therapist in a elder care/rehab facility. Unfortunately by the time our state got around to vaccinating the residents and staff, Covid went through there like wild fire and she was exposed to many who contracted it and died. So she thinks she had to have had it at some point so doesn't see the point to getting it. As grandson will not be getting it even if they approve for such a young age, once I get mine, I will push it a little harder.

I have to say I am still concerned as I was hospitalized last summer with Thrombocytopenia, very low blood platelets, and it is on the questionnaire when registering for the vaccine. Though my Hematologist has cleared me for the vaccine, I have to say I am still very, very nervous.

Yay! So happy to hear you're on your way to immunity!

Thanks! I am actually scared of needles so this was huge for me to do this and I feel proud that I am doing my part to help others. I went to a clinic run by a hospital group so the shot is given by a nurse and she was good I did not feel it at all. You went to different areas for each stage of the process and everyone there was so nice. I felt so comfortable I think one of the mass vaccination centers would have been too overwhelming for me. A few days ago my local paper had an article about vaccine card holders something I had not even thought about but is such a good idea so I went on Etsy. They had all sorts of wonderful designs and I got one for DM and myself. My DH did not want one. I can’t wait until it comes hopefully before the next time I go. That helped me get excited despite my nervousness and then a few days ago an announcement was made that our state of MD is doing an incentive. Any resident of our state who got the vaccine in our state or is getting it by 7/3 is entered in a daily drawing of $40,000 beginning on Tuesday and the big prize on 7/4 will be $400,000. Now that I know what the experience is like will not feel anxious going for my second dose and I think I will feel even more amazing than I do now.

That was me as well, though I ended up choosing a drive through site so I could be nervous in the car instead of in a chair indoors somewhere lol. You're right, the second dose will be much easier now that you know what to expect. I was soooo excited for my second shot, had about one minute of anxiety right before the needle went in, and otherwise just pure gratitude! Congratulations on getting through that first one!

Hubby and I both had a bad couple of weeks after our J and J shots - migraines for me, and depression, both of us tired.

I haven't received the vaccine yet. But I wouldn't be surprised if have had it, and just didn't show any symptoms. I've been around people that had it, since this mess started.

Thanks for sharing and the kind words. I thought I was the only one.

As of today my household is all fully vaccinated.

My oldest daughter & I both had our second Pfizer on 5/5 with no side effects. I didn’t even have a sore arm this time.

My youngest had her second Moderna on 5/9. She got hit with fever, body aches, headache, nausea, sore arm from about 10 hours post to about 36 hours hours post.

Both my husband and I are now fully vaccinated - I was "lucky" and got my first dose in January through work (I work in healthcare) and second one in March and now DH has had his second dose last week. I had Pfizer and had a couple of days of feeling rough (not as bad as the actual Covid I had in March last year though!) and DH was perfectly fine apart from a sore arm for a day. So heartening to hear about all the people who are coming forward to get vaccinated!
