I know Gem has got hers and is filling it up with lovely music. Has anyone else got one? Do you love it?

I ordered mine on Amazon and they are waiting to get them in stock :(

Yes I've got one, and a full size iPod. My GF and I share them between us, and love them to bits! I'm slowly rediscovering my CD collection. I was lucky to get the mini iPod as there is still a general shortage of them because Apple can't keep up with demand (mine was a cancelled order and I happened to be in the shop at the right time).

Regards

Rob

I don't have a mini, but I do have a regular one (30gb)...I love mine to bits too!!!! (I may be a bit biased though as I am an all round Apple fan through and through, LOL)

Glad to hear that Penny. Do you use a Mac as well, or just the iPod? We Apple fans should stick together - sometimes it's hard to be a minority!

Oh yeah! Apple blood runs through my veins, LOL!

I have an G4 iMac & G3 iBook at home and have a G4 Tower at work....and hopefully they'll upgrade me to a 'cheese grater' G5 fairly soon!

My other toys at home is an Airport wireless network for my 'puters and a mini-speaker 'base' for my ipod which is very cool indeed - great for taking on holiday - so I love that too!

Uh...now look what you've done Rob.....you've set me off all geeky, hehehe!

I haven't :( but I would like to get one!

Ive got a 20gb iPod and its surprising how quickly you sart to fill them up, it saved my life on holiday so many times hehe. walking round the Disney village listening to Taking back sunday seemed so weird hehe.

I ordered mine on Tuesday from Curry's online. Should be here in the next couple of days ~ It is a lovely pink colour !!!!

Minniespal, I ordered my first one from Currys online and they said that they would contact me with a delivery date for DHL to deliver to me, and that wouldn't be for at least a week. As I couldn't wait I went into town on Saturday and John Lewis had got one left so I bought that. As I was walking round the shops I rang the customer service and told them that I wanted to cancel the order. They said yes that's fine and the money would be credited to my account.

Then I received an email from them saying that they had dispatched the order and I was being charged!!!!! So Ok i thought I will leave it and try and sell my spare one on ebay. Then by Thursday I still hadn't received any notification that they had tried to deliver the order so I rang DHL who told me that my delivery address was "inadequate" quite what is inadequate about a four line address complete with post code I don't know.

Any way, I have now cancelled the delivery with them and they are doing a return to sender I rang Currys and they are now crediting my account. so we shall wait and see.

Rant over!

But I love My I pod!! It's great! Oh yeah mines Green! What colour is yours?!?!?!?:wave2:

I've always wanted to be given a Mac in work, but had to make do with PCs or buy my own (I now use my G4 Powerbook for work, ignoring the office PC which just sulks on the corner of my desk gathering dust!). At home I've got a G5 (amazingly fast and amazingly quiet) and my Cube is on loan to my parents (it's the most beautiful computer I've ever seen). I've even set up my mobile phone so that it has a Mac-like interface!

Glad to see another DIS Mac fan...

Well I finally gave up on Amazon and we went to Virgin yesterday. I have my nice pink ipod and DH brought a Blue one :)

Now to begin filling it up...

Kaylee ~

Pink is the colour that I have ordered. Have you started filling it up yet and if so how easy is it to do.

Florence

Very easy to do...even I can do it LOL :)

Now just to choose all the tunes I want!

Kaylee ~

Thanx for the info ~ Can't wait till it arrives.

I don't have a mini iPod but I have a regular one, 15gb and it didn't take me long to fill it up :D It lasted the whole 9 hour flight to Orlando so definite thumbs up there, I love my iPod :Pinkbounc

Okay, I confess, I'm a techno-virgin :o

I know nothing about i-pods, other than youngest DD would like one to replace her broken CD player.

Give me the low-down (in very, very simple terms, please  ), plus any useful websites, please :)

I'm easy to train, given the right kind of information ;)

The best place I have found for iPod info is the Apple website...

http://www.apple.com/ipod/

Edited to add...

Essentially the iPod is a digital music player that allows you to take digital music tracks such as mp3's from your computer and carry them around and listen to them as you would CD's in a portable CD player.

You can take CD's you already own and RIP them into mp3's using suitable software (the iTunes software is supplied with an iPod and will do this but alternatives are available) as well as downloading tracks/albums from on-line music stores such as the iTunes store from Apple.

iPOD's come with a variety of storage capabilities, the original size iPod's are 10Gb, 20Gb or 30Gb (I think) or an iPod mini is 4Gb but available in a range of colours whereas the original's are all white and slightly larger (about the size of a small walkman).

An iPod mini with it's 4Gb's of storage will store about 60 average albums of music, which I think is plenty for most people. You can always delete stuff and put other music on using the computer if you find you fill it up.

I am happy to answer any questions you might have although I don't check the boards as ofen as DW . I am sure she will do her best to help too :teeth:

iPod's are MP3 players, made by Apple (same company that makes Macintosh computers). Using a free programme called iTunes (available for Windows and for Macintosh) you copy your CDs onto your computer, then copy them onto your iPod. You can set iTunes so that it automatically synchronises the iPod and your computer's music library so that any time you add a new CD it will automatically be copied to the iPod when you next conect it to the computer. Copying your CDs to your desktop computer also means you can play any of your music direct from your hard drive, and information like album titles and track titles are automatically downloaded from the internet.

In addition to copying your CDs you can also buy individual tracks for £0.79 from Appl'e online music store.

Thanks for the info :)

I'm sure DD knows what she wants anyway , but I'm doing my best to try to have at least an idea of what she's talking about ;)
