Have you ever used an epilator?

I'm not sure this will be allowed on the boards, but I was wondering if anyone else had ever used an epilady? I used one for years but a month ago I found another epilator that is out of this world. I doesn't hurt and can be used on more than just the legs. It also can be used after the shower and looks just like a shaver. I have been so happy with it.

Rock Daddy, it rips your hair out, roots and all.

lets epilate some of corn flakes hair!!! won't that be fun? then he'll REALLY get hot!! :teeth: :teeth:

tigercat, I got my Epilady back in 1990. I since replaced it with a Silk-Epil in 1998...I found it to be a kindler, gentler way of ripping the hair shaft out of my leg.

I never shave! Yanking the hair out from the root is the only way for me. ;)

Ouch! No thank you. The Venus razor for me. :)

Did you just wake up?:p

I've never used one. I don't know if I could stand the pain.

I was suckered into the Epilady years ago. Its fine if you have some Morphine to take to get you through it....... :p

Since I didn't have the benefit of Morphine, I only used mine once. It removed the hair, allright, but that "tingly sensation" described in the advertisement was more like the longest moments of your life, having your hair yanked out by the roots.

Yes the epilady sure took some time to get used to and doing the top front of my legs was a study in concentration (and breathing) but I did for the most part get used to it. I tended not to use it that often though because of that and then had trouble when I did use it. My new one the silk and smooth is great. I haven't had trouble with it and it can be used on the underarm and face. It is nothing like the epilady at all. The first time I used it on the underarm I wasn't sure but now I do "touch ups" every other day and there is no problems. It is so smooth. Also, I don't have hair growing on some of my legs at all now so it is getting faster. The new one's out are so much better. I wish I had gone looking for a new one years ago, although I think this one just came out.
This is the only way to go. My dd uses a razor and she is so stubbly at the night whereas I am so smooth all the time.

I've never used an epilady - what is the newest ones name? I'd love to try it.

I just bought the new Schick Intuition...and I love it. The only problem I see is that you will be going through a lot of the refills of the razor because the cream like stuff that is surrounding the razor runs out pretty quickly other than that it leaves my legs really smooth.

Ow! Ripping hair out by the roots! No thank you! I'm glad some of us guys don't have to deal with this kinda stuff.

Tigercat,
Since I've been EXCLUSIVELY been using these kind of hair removal products for over 10 years, I too have found that the hair that grows back is sparse and baby smooth. I don't mind the pain like so many other woman do. I wouldn't use anything else!

PLEASE tell me the name of the product you use now. Also, do you remember the cost? I am very curious.

Changing names has made you even more amusing! This one and the one where your cloth diaper doesn't need changing have cracked me up this AM.

I used my epilady for years and I loved it, but then it broke and I went back to razors. I too want to know the name and cost of this new version.

It is called the Remington Smooth & Silky Hair Removal System. It is shaped just like a razor. I love being able to use it right after a shower because for some reason the hair stands out better. I used to use the Epilady and then have a shower then found more hair after and had to wait to get them. This is so much more smoother and easier on the pain threshold. I can't believe the job it does on the underarms as well. As to the price well I think it was $65.00 or so $$'s but I live in Canada so I don't know what it would be in the States.

If it is that painful, why would you even try it any place other than the legs?

hey you hijacked my thread that I hijacked from you to begin with, there should be a rule aganst double hijackings

Pop Daddy I had to hijack my thread back from your hijack so that I could answer people's questions but now you are trying to hijack it again so I will have to hijack your hijack from hijacking my hijack from your hijack............Boy am I confused now. But I am officially hijacking back my thread. Now, jamsmom I never used the epilady on anywhere except the legs because I knew that it would not be fun on any other part of the body (Pop Daddy that isn't a hijack point). The fronts of the top of my legs were a little more sensitive than the rest of the legs so I knew that anywhere else would be murder. That's what so nice about the new one. It is fine on the top of the legs. I have a fairly high pain threshold though as I also though labour and delivery was fun.

(Now Pop Daddy the last part could be hijacked but let's see if you have some last bit of control.......................control............ahhhhhhhhhhhh
