Have you ever referred someone?

I just recently sent about 5 or 6 referrals out via the DVC Member Website and received today a confirmation of two of the 'info' packets going out to my referred folks.

Has anyone else referred anyone? If so, how did it go with your referral money once your friend joined?

Just curious.

I referred one person who purchased at the BCV but I had to call my Guide to remind her that I was owed the reward because I never heard or received anything from DVC. She was very sorry and made sure that I qucikly received the paperwork. We sent it out quickly and we received Disney dollars that we used for our trip last New Year's.

I've referred 2 friends by word of mouth. Each of them used my name when going for the presentation and we've gotten Diseny Dollars each time

Always stiffed one way or another, ie wrong state, referral of friend didn't give my name until afterwards, and DVC wouldn't honor the referral, etc....

So now I don't bother. I think they are cheap, and try to weasal out of the referrals, but using legal mumbo jumbo.

By law, we can't receive any fee from DVC here in Michigan.

Oh well.

We've referred three couples, two in one year. We had a whole stack of disney dollars and basically paid "cash" for just about everything on our disney vacation.

Sorry I'm not up on it.....But what do you get for a referral??

I just recieved something in the mail last week from DVC that friends of ours while in WDW checked it out and gave our names. I think there is a good possibility of them buying. They visit WDW more times than we do!! At least 4x per year.

If the state you live in allows referrals..............then you recieve Disney Dollars for each one you refer.

1st referral- $200
2nd referral- $350
3rd referral- $500

These have to be in the same calender yr. You can use the Disney Dollars towards dues,down payment on pts,Disney cruise Line,etc.

Here is the list of states that allow referrals...........

Alabama,California,Delaware,Florida,Georgia,Hawaii,Idaho,Illinois,
Iowa,Kansas,Louisianna,Maryland,Mass,Missisippi,Missouri,Nevada,New Hampshire,New Jersey,New Mexico,New York,North Dakota,Ohio,Rhode Island,South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

We have referred two families but we cannot get any money for that due to the laws in our state.

I referred my sister who just purchased at SSR. However, since I live in Connecticut, I cannot recieve any referral bonus. Too bad DVC can't send us something else, a non-monetary "thank you" gift of somesort...like a polo shirt or something.

I referred my brother and got $200( so i treated him and his family at the Steakhouse in Canada.
I referred a cousin and got $350.
I referred another cousin who didnt give my name or I would have gotten $500
I referred 2 friends in sep years and $200 a piece....

SIL and MIL took the tour in August 01 and bought on site. They gave DH's name and a few months later we got a certificate that we had to fill out in order to get the Disney Dollars.

Only if the referrals join by purchasing through DVC....not re-sales.

Yes you should . That happened to my sister this past summer.My sister referred someone to DVC about a year and a half ago.........and they decided to buy in May of 2003. She was able to get the Disney Dollars.
