Have you ever "recycled" a gift?

Yes I do! The funniest thing that ever happened to me though was once I received a beautiful bread basket for Christmas. But on the bottom of the basket was the gift givers name on a piece of masking tape. She had used it to take to a pot luck supper or something and forgot to take her name off of it before she gave it as a gift. I still think that is funny, but I am still using the bread basket so I am glad she gave it to me!!!

I'll give away something I got as a gift, as long as there is nothing wrong with it except for it not being my style. As far as tacky gifts, I save them up for White Elephant exchanges. We have them in my family every year, always a hoot, and its amazing what people give as gifts. I've seen some doozies over the years we have been having this exchange. We always get a huge laugh over it though, so I guess they are worth their weight in laughs alone.

Here's my funny re-gifting story. My SIL got a Diaper Genie at a shower given to her by work friends. She had no need for the Diaper Genie, as she has curbside trash service, so she went to take the thing back to Babies-R-Us. All was well until they went to inspect the thing and discovered that there was a dirty diaper in it! From what my SIL said, it must have been there for several years, as not was the gift giver's youngest child way past toddler age, but it stunk up the entire store!
