Have you ever ran into someone you know?

Bearing in mind the distance we've travelled (we're from the UK) we were shoclked to find that some friends of a friend we know from home was sitting three rows in front at the Miami Dolphins game we went to!!!!

One time I had a rough week at work and decided to take DD12(9 at the time) with me for a couple days to WDW. My weekend is Monday and Tuesday. It was a holiday weekend (president's day I think). Well on the way up DD decided we had to stop so she could use the bathroom. I tell her to go in I'll be right there. As she is exiting the ladies room she runs into her teacher. He was coming back from Disney, she told him we were on our way there. He said just make sure you make up your work. He is also a Disney nut. Made the year easier. She gave him the grand opening pin we got from Pop. She wanted to give him the coin they gave but sorry that was mine. They only gave us one of those. I received Walt Disney books for Xmas. She managed to sneak one of those to give to her teacher. Least it wasn't the one I lived best. Hehe

During Spring Break 2002 we saw DS's soccer coach and his family heading to Rock n' Roller Coaster from ToT while we were doing the opposite. :sunny:

I am a 2nd grade teacher :teacher: and I had a student who was going with his family the same week DH and I were going. He actually left the day before I did and as he left school that day, he said, "I can't wait to see you at Disney World!" I laughed to myself because I thought, "This kid has no clue how big this place is and the chance that we would even be in the same part of the same park on the same day was very slim. Wouldn't you know, as DH and I stood in the queue area for Pooh, who should walk past me on the other side of the rope? My student and his family! I thought "That is could never happen again!" But wait, there he is again 2 days later at AK coming off of Kali River Rapids! We had a lot to talk about when we returned to school. :teacher:

Yes, it happened 3 times in one trip. On a trip to MGM, I think, my dh ran into a friend that he works with...then I ran into my old hairdresser at Sea World and then we ran into good friends while shopping at FAO Schwartz downtown! We kept saying well, it usually happens in 3's:)

We were greeted by my co-worker and her husband as we got off the boat at the MK from the WL. She never told me that they were going to be there so it was quite a shock to see them. :)

I had gone to the same hairdresser for probably 15 years. He was located close to my job and I would go at lunchtime...it was very convenient. Then I moved to a neighboring town, and changed jobs as well. He was no longer convenient, so I started going to a new hairdresser which was closer to my new job and home and just figured I would never see the original guy. The month after I changed, I am walking out of the main door at our hotel at Disney and hear my name called out. I turn and there is the original hairdresser. He was down there with his family and we were staying in the same hotel!! It really IS a small world after all!! :rotfl:

I have run into students, a friend and a co-worker!

1. On my honeymoon I was waiting for the Tapestry of Nations parade to start and one of my students from a show I was the musical director for was walking by.

2. On our trip in 2001, DH and I were at Downtown Disney and I ran into a friend of mine from college. He and I did some student teaching/observing together and since he lived in Pennsylvania, we would make the drive to Boston together sometimes. Then, two days later, I ran into him again at Epcot. This time we had lunch together at Cantina de San Angel.

3. On my trip last month, we were having dinner at Crystal Palace and I saw a co-worker of mine having dinner there as well.

Yes, it is a small world after all...

Let's see, a few years back we turned around in AK and ran into DH's cousin's relatives, last June we were in line for BTMRR and DH is looking around, all of a sudden starts yelling, "Chuck, Chuck!" at the top of his lungs. Since he's normally a quet guy I think he's gone nuts from the heat :rotfl2: . Turns out behind us in line are our good friends, their little girl and inlaws. We knew they were going to be out of town but had no idea they were going to be there. This past April DD's DH and I were getting off the elevator in Boca Chica (GF) headed to dinner and the door opens and it' s the Husband and daughter of a friend of mine from DD's school. We then ran into the wife and son (DD's age) when we entered 1900 PF. I had no idea they were going. We played tag for the next few days. As I made reservations for next April on THursday I asked her what her plans for Spring Break were, planned to tell her which hotel we'd be at ;)

We were walking across the Sea World parking lot last year when I heard someone say "they go to Woodrow Wilson" (our elementary school). Turns out it was a family that lives just a few blocks from us that goes to school with our kids. What a small world to be in the exact same part of the parking lot at that specific time.

Then we were at MGM and my husband saw a teenage boy with a tshirt on that had an emblem from a high school in a town not far from us in Iowa. My husband started talking to the kid about being from Indianola and discussing sports and such. Then the dad walks up to join the conversation and it is the restaurant manager that hired both my husband and I when we were in college 18 years earlier. We actually met each other at the restaurant. The last time we had seen the teenage son he was about 2 years old. Weird.

Ran into the guy who used to live upstairs from me in EPCOT in the hydro something in the living seas. Wouldn't believe it was him until his friend said his name. Very weird.

In January we bumped into our cousin Kristy. She was there on business, and invited us to meet her for breakfast at Chef Mickey's the next morning.

We always seem to run into someone. One year we ran into people from my kids swim team at our OKW bus stop we didnt even know they were going to be there or were DVC members. My DB says hes gone down at least 30 times and never seen anyone he knows but every time he goes with us we meet someone else (and he wasnt with us when we went jersey week that time we saw at least 4 familys). Now its a game we hope to see someone just to annoy my DB lol

About 6 years ago we ran into a guy & his family that my DH used to work with. We had also occasionally gotten together with this family outside of work so the kids all new each other. We were standing on line at Test Track and they came walking up behind us. We ended up spending the next couple of days together before they left for a cruise.

2 years while walking through AK we ran into a family from our DS's school who we know from the PTO and our DSs are in the same class. We had no idea they would be there. We also ran into them again going into MGM.

On that same trip we were with our neighbors. While darting to Dumbo upon park opening on Early Entry day, we heard a woman start screaming. My friend looked at her and started screaming too. It turns out they were friends who went to school together and hadnt seen each other in a while.

On our recent trip to DL, while walking through DTD, DS saw someone who he knows from school, but hes not in his grade and I didnt really know who he was,but DS claimed to.

And we live in MA. ;)

On our first trip in 1998 - I was at Chef Mickey's walking to the bathroom and ran into my old manager from 10 years before. She was working there as a hostess. Our 2nd trip in 1999 I ran into her again at Chef Mickey's, again working as a hostess.

My husband ran into an old childhood friend that he hadn't seen in 25 years or so at the soda fountain in CBR.

Hoping to see some more people in know when we get there in 20 days!!!!

On our honeymoon we ran into friends who had attended our wedding, twice during our stay. We knew they'd be there but didn't think we'd cross paths since they arrived after us and stayed at different hotels.

Us too!
Just last trip - as matter of fact! W were waiting for the bus at POP to go to MK on day 1 off our trip. This couple walked by - and they looked very familiar. My DD and I walk up to them - they were in que for AK. They were from our home town- friends of friends- doing a 7 day trip themselves!!
Very cool! :cool1:

We were at Universal one day standing behind some people on the moving walkway leaving the park. (parking garage) I told my DD "the back of that girls head looks just like Nicoles" the girl turned around and it was Nicole ( who is my neice and DD's cousin.)
