Have you ever ran an empty load through your washer?

I'm usually just a casual lurker here, but for some reason I've gotten quite caught up today in reading and enjoying the boards. Anyhow, I just ran an entire cycle on my washing machine but forgot to put the clothes in! Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets pre-occupied here...........

Nope, Karista, I've never done that. BUT, I have had an entire load ready to go and the washer started only to discover an hour later that I never shut the lid of the washer so all the water drained out and I had to start over! :p

I've done that only once, but it was on purpose.;) I was tie-dying some stuff and I washed my washer out with just bleach and detergent.

I have however washed a load of clothes AND also a load of dishes and forgot to put detergent in it, I remembered it after they were done.:o

I'm known for losing my clothes dryer sheets. Somehow I've washed boxes and boxes of those in my washer.:o

DH does this about twice a week. He likes to have the washer full of water and soap before he puts the clothes in and always forgets to add the clothes when it's full. We just keep washing water. I guess I'm lucky he does the wash at all.

Well...I HAVE had all my dishes in the dish washer with the detergent all ready to turn on right before leaving on vacation and ......yes...FORGOT to turn it on!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! Talk about a smell that will clear a room. Did that in July of 2000 and hopefully never will again!!!

I used to do that all the time when I had a washer that didn't have an automatic bleach dispenser.

I would fill the tub, add the bleach, then add the white cotton garments. Sometimes, I would miss that third part and would run a load of bleach and soapy water right through

TerriP, I have done that, more than once. I have also ran a wash w/o clothing too. I've boiled water for spaghetti and forgot to add the noodles. Taken a walk to get the mail, and never get the mail, just enjoy the walk. Got myself a nice glass of iced tea, and leave it in the kitchen all morning. I could go on, but who knows what you all would think of me. lol They don't call me Tom Corbett, Space Cadet for nothing. Explains my username, huh?
