Well, I did, today. :o And I purposely did it.

I stayed up way too late last night talking with a DISer and, I slept way too late this morning and, I felt really yucky so, I had part of my planned breakfast, 1/2 english muffin and 1/2 banana. No problem there, but I still felt yucky so, I PLANNED on eating whatever I wanted the rest of the day. I was just too yucky to weigh and measure, and cook for myself. I started with a chocolate chip cookie. For dinner I had take-out broasted chicken, 3 thighs, and about 3 helpings of french fries!! :earseek: I hadn't had a french fry in soooo long. This was my first real, intentional slip up in almost 5 months.

So, I'm here to fess up and state that I'm PLANNING on going back OP tomorrow. ::yes::

Whew, I'm glad I got that out of my system. ;)

So, how 'bout you?

I did a lot of slipping up during the time we were moving. Be sure to get right back on plan or you may establish a habit of slipping up that could be hard to break. You should be OK if you get right back on plan & put the slip up day behind you.

I firmly believe that it's GOOD to *cheat* every now and then! It kind of gets all the *cravings* out of my mind ~ and usually I feel so icky at the end of the day, that I remember just why I don't eat like that ALL the time :crazy2:

I just call it a metabolism kick up day. I find if I am good for too long, my metabolism slows down, and these cheat days as long as they don't happen too often seem to keep my metabolism going.

I also give up when I am sick. I am a wimp!

I eat too many almonds and other "legal" foods but I haven't intentionally gotten off plan since January, 2003. The reason for that isn't that I'm so virtuous, the reason is that I am afraid that if I eat white flour or sugar ever again, I won't be able to stop. I think I'm sort of like a heroin addict when it comes to refined carbohydrates.

So, I stay legal....that doesn't mean I'm losing weight, I'm maintaining STILL.

This is such a great thread. I had one of "those" days Sat at DD's birthday. And the next day I felt like I was hung over and I couldn't wait to work out and sweat. I think it does help to have a cheat day as I find that things taste so much better than if I ate them every day but I've been vigiligant long enough that I can go back. I so agree with Freshtress, with me it definately gives me a bump in metabolism.

I guess I'd agree with you both as well. I lost 1 lb this week. Not much, but last week it seemed I wouldn't be losing anything this week.

I'm pretty certain I won't be doing this too often. It wasn't even that good.

Yesterday was my son's graduation party, and it was held at one of the best Italian places in town. I didn't totally over do it, but I did allow myself pasta, bread, and a piece of the sinful cake. You can't turn down cannoli filling and whipped cream on top. They served us family style: antipasto, 2 pastas - penne alla vodka and rigatoni pomodoro, chicken francaise, sausage and peppers, eggplant rollatini, potatoes & mixed vegetables, and two cakes - the chocolate cake with cannoli filling and the obligatory carvel cake because my son thinks no party is complete without one.

You can't not eat when faced with this food, lol.
