Have you ever met anyone famous??

When I worked at FAO Schwarz in San Diego I helpe Jerry Lewis. I was so star struck I think I asked if he needed help twice, like a stutter. He was very nice, a really classy person.

Since I grew up in Atlanta, I have mets lots of Atlanta based celebrities:

-All of the members of REM- I went to UGA, and back in the mid 80's, all of the guys in the band still lived in Athens. We'd see them just hanging out downtown. Very cool, all of them. Pete Buck, especially. Michael Stipe was kinda weird, but very sweet.

-Amy Ray and Emily Sailers of the Indigo Girls- I had a friend, Michelle Malone (who also sings) who knew Amy and Emily. Met them at Little Five Points Pub one night- they were really cool. This was just before they hit big with "Kid Fears" in 1988.

-Amy Carter (Pres. Jimmy Carter's daughter)- met her through a friend who got to be good friends with her. They went to Governor's Honors camp together, and we skipped school one day to meet her- she was going to a Young Women of GA Science confrence at a local Jr. college. She was very nice and very shy.

-Evander Holyfield- saw him at Houston's, an Atlanta restaurant. He was very nice, and very muscular.

-Travis Tritt- went to high school with him. He was a senior the year I was a freshman. He was kind of a hillbilly- he was in the advanced choir and show ensemble.

-Andy Rooney- met him in downtown Atlanta during the 1988 Democratic Convention. He was actually very nice.

I have met Marie Osmond. My old baton teacher was good friends with her and was able to meet her after a concert.

Plus I have met The Wiggles. LOL!!! ;) Do they count? According to DD, they do. :rotfl2:

I met Bryan Adams before he went out on his own. He was with a band called Sweeney Todd.

love brian adams and glass tiger! as too who I've met... Princess Diana once (that was cool) Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, snoopy when I was like 5 (and that was really cool) maggie

I haven't really met anyone.. but

My DH has met George C. Scott, Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Timothy Hutton as well as Bobby Clark and local Philly newspeople. The local Philly newspeople were his parents neighbors! (not really famous in big name famous)

Your husband must have been an extra in Taps or lived in the Wayne area. I was an extra in Taps also. Being that I went to college next door for a time, we went over to the set most everyday. We actually became pretty friendly with Tom Cruise and Sean Penn. At that time they we really no body's. I have some pictures from the set, and a few with Tom Cruise.

I use to work at the Vet for th Philadelphia Phillies, so I have also met many many ball players and escorted many celebs through the former stadium. Some of them included Billy Crystal, Judd Hersh, and Donald Sutherland. I have met many other.

There was once a boy band emerging onto the UK music scene (didn't get too far). I was about 12 at the time so the perfect boy band audience.

But while they were reasonably famous and on tv, the lead-singer turned up with my babysitter one day! Turned out they were best friends!

It was pretty cool to have a guy from a boy band turn up to babysit for you!

I went to a party in high school at Tom Nalen's (from the Denver Broncos) house. He grew up in Foxboro, MA the next town over from me.

Mark Harmon pushed me once. Does that count? :teeth:
Actually, he was taping a show in Fanueil Hall when I was about 13 (I think this was back in the day of "St. Elsewhere"). He was trying to get out of the crowd and pushed me out of the way. I wasn't even trying to get near him, didn't know who he was at the time! Now every time I see him on tv I make sure to remark to my husband, "you know he pushed me once..." :rotfl:

Stipe still hangs out downtown in Athens quite a bit. I go back there all the time to visit friends and I still see him around!

i met/knew a bunch of the red Sox players back in the 80's and still remain friends with a few of them and their families.
I used to have Steven King sitting near me at Fenway park til he upgraded his seats closer to homeplate.

I had dinner with Davy Jones of The Monkeys fame. That was back in 1991. He was a wonderful dinner companion and a gentleman.

I met Randy Quaid (National Lampoon's Vacation - Chevy Chase's cousin - but I bet he doesn't want to be remembered for that) at a museum in NYC when on a class trip my junior year in high school. I noticed him in a theatre at the museum and then went up to him and politely asked if he was who I thought he was. He was very nice, but wanted to be left alone - you could tell.

A month ago I met WAYNE BRADY!!! I saw a performance of his and afterwards hung out by the stage door. I'm SUCH a groupie!!!

There may be some others, but I can't remember. I guess they didn't make that big of an impression?

Lots...

I used to be really good friends with a manager in professional wrestling so I always use to go where they went after shows and hang out in their vip areas. It was lots of fun and I miss it. Many of the guys on WWE and TNA now are or were friends of mine.

Also have met many celebs during tv show and parade tapings in or around WDW.

And worked a few celeb charity functions, with Bret Micheals, Tim Wakefield, Ceciel Fielder, Mark from Real World, etc.

Dr. Ruth Westheimer and Gerraldine Ferraro- when they both spoke at my college. I have a photo of myself with Ferraro, she was very nice!

Bill Clinton when he ran for prez in '92.

Dr. Andrew Weil (holistic guru) at a book signing.

Gov. of PA Ed Rendell when he was Mayor of Philadelphia

Former Eagles QB Randall Cunnigham at an Eagles Fan Fest

The Fixx- 80's band, met them after the show, they are extremely nice to their fans.

Didn't really "meet" but saw Richard Simmons at the airport. He was wearing those little shorts in the dead of winter!

When I worked at a bank in Austin off 6th street (entertainment district) I met Stevie Ray Vaughn. He came in to cash a check from a gig he'd done the night before. Poor, naive, me, asked for ID. What a dork!

:rotfl:

I met the actress Laura Linney a few years back when she was the graduation speaker at a local private high school. I was working as a waitress at the President's reception after the graduation. Didn't know who she was at the time, but I see her in movies all the time now.

I also went to high school with the actress Elizabeth Perkins for a couple of years. We even shared the same seat on the bus as she was at the last stop and had to squish in the seat with my sister & I.

My DS used to work occasionally as a landscaper up at Bill Cosby's western Mass. home. He never met Bill, but did see his wife, Camille, around.

Last year we took our neices and we met DORA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This past summer we also met George Canyon. He asked my daughter"Did you take it" meaning a picture. Yes, my DD13 did and it was all most too close.

I was at a craps table in Vegas with Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Geez they're big!!
