Have you ever held up traffic?

Yep, in 3 different countries and it was sooo much fun. But it was another lifetime ago, so many crazy insane memories, and if I go into details, the Dis trolls will crawl out of their caves, and I can't deal with that.

A plane when I misjudged the time and almost missed my connecting flight.
I‘m still amazed they didn’t leave me on the tarmac.

Yep, I was the next car to go in a left turn lane at a major intersection (not actually in the intersection, but waiting) and my car broke down. Alternator was bad. Tow truck came and had to actually stop in the intersection blocking it to get my car hooked up. Hated that experience, really just because of the attention and blocking traffic, I knew my car would be able to be fixed.

We had a flat tire in the left lane of one of the most highly traveled bridges in the US. The I-75 bridge over the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We were stuck for maybe a half hour before a police cruiser and a tow truck came. This was before cell phones.

The first time that I drove a stick by myself, I killed it while trying to make a left turn. I was right in the middle of the intersection blocking everybody. I was 17 and nervous and everyone honking at me didn’t help. It took me about 5 minutes to get the truck to move.

Sure. Had a few cars break down. I won't go into the details.

Sure. I remember back in the 1980s when we live on the east coast we would stop on a liquor store in DC on 9th Ave. The street was 4 lanes wide and people would double and triple park in the street on Friday afternoons and run in and get wine and liquor. The prices were so much better than the stores in Pennsylvania. My dad would run in and an employee would roll out 3 cases of Bolla wines. The pickup congestion was worse than the airport on a Sunday night.

This morning I was surprised by a green arrow for my left turn and I wasn't ready expecting cross traffic to get the light before it came back to me. I was chilling out with my car out of gear and feet off the pedals.

Drives me crazy being behind people and having to wait for their attention to see their light is green and now wait longer as their car to start up, this was on the brink of mildly disturbing me that I lagged this morning when my light turned green unexpectedly.

I had my car literally die as I was turning left across a 4 lane road. I got out and tried to push it alone, finally another GIRL came and helped push (finally a man got out) but I tied up the intersection for a good couple of minutes. I do remember the girl being quite brazen yelling "so all theses guys are just stitting around watching us!"

Yes! On my way into work on a bridge into a busy city...spotted a kitten on the bridge dodging traffic! It looked terrified, as cars went over and around it. I screeched to a halt almost sideways and stopped everyone. Ran back, climbed under a car in my dress and foisted the kitten to me. Ironically, a state trooper who I had dated in high school and dumped me pulled up and asked if I was ok. I'm sure I looked crazy. lol. Anyway, continued on my way to the bank I worked at. Everyone fawned over him and a coworker from a different branch drove over later and adopted him. He was spoiled beyond belief the rest of his life :)

yes, unfortunately. I was in my late teens and this was before cel phones. The car I had just stopped. Come to find out the gas tank imploded. My car said it had gas, but there was none in the tank and there you go. I was scared! I had to run to a house to use their phone and leave my car in the middle of the road with the flashers on waiting for a tow truck

Oh yes. I was with friends on my way to the airport in Newark to get on a flight to London, and the car stalled at a traffic light. Cars were honking their horns like crazy, and after a few minutes of trying to start it again a cop walked up to our car and asked us if we were waiting for a particular shade of green or if we had a problem. Hahaha. We finally got the car started again while he was there trying to direct traffic, and we made our flight.

My son did, he decided to take out his "new" car out , He was a very new driver and overcorrected and flipped the car on the highway.
Everyone was ok just a bruised ego ... but he closed i35 n for two hours because this part was only 2 lanes due to construction. It was on the news and they brought out the news hellicopter so it was on DFW news sites...

When he called home he just said he needed a ride please come pick him up ..... he said nothing about the car. I drove up the access road and had to walk up the embankment because the traffic was so bad I could not get to him. For months we saw red paint on the concrete divider, untill they moved it.

Lots of times as part of funeral processions. In this province it is legally required for other traffic to yield to funeral processions at all intersections and on-ramps.

Once. I was driving on Delancey Street in Manhattan. A cab ran a red light and hit my car. Tied up traffic on the Williamsburg Bridge for a little while til we got my car moved to the curb. Fun times.

So you stopped traffic so you could steal a kitten? :rotfl2:
