Have you ever had to have multiple ressies because...

of a code- not being able to get one of your nights on a discounted rate? Did they make you change rooms as you check in/out? Was it a hassle?

We have one night of our stay in Jan (in the middle!) that's not discounted, I had to make 3 reservations to get the entire stay in. I got all the other days discounted.

What do you think? Have you ever done this? Any tips? TIA!

I'm doing the same thing but I only have 2 reservations. One for 1 night and one for 5 nights. Both in the same resort.

I had to do this because the AP code was not available for check-ins on my first day. To get the remaining 5 days at the discount, I had to do a separate reservation. They noted on my reservation that they are linked and I will "most likely" not have to change rooms. I will only have to go down to the front desk to check out and check in again on the first day of the second reservation.

For our December trip I have 2 reservations so far and I still need one more. The AP rate is only available the first 2 nights and the last 2 nights of our stay. I am still desperately trying to get the middle 2 nights. Uggh, its so frustrating because you also have to put down a seperate deposit for each res. Just hoping that all the calls and hassle will be worth it in the end!

I have three reservations for my campsite in December. The first two nights are at a discount, the 2nd two nights are at rack rate, and the last three nights are at a discount.

I will fax the room controller at Ft. Wilderness 4 days before my trip and ask them to link these reservations so that I don't have to change sites.

I will have to go by the front desk and get new ID cards with each change.

As far as experience with this, back in 2000, I had two reservations at All-Star Music. The first night there were just two adults and the rest of our nights there were four adults, so to avoid the extra adult charge on the first night we had a separate reservation.

We just went by the front desk the next morning and got new ID cards for all of us and we stayed in the same room. When our extra two folks arrived, they were able to come straight to the room.

You can ask CRO to link them now, so that they are already linked when the room controller gets them.

I did my Ft. Wilderness ressies online and when I called the online reservation assistance folks to cancel one of my rack rate nites (I had to book three consecutive nites to get availability over the weekend). I asked about linking the three reservations and they seemed really confused.

I may try again one weekend day when my cell phone time is free, but I try to confuse the CRO folks as little as possible.

I'm doing that for this trip and I did it for our trip last year.

This year I wanted to use the BDP code, but we're staying for 11 nights so I had to put the 11th night on a separate ressie (there is a 10 night max for the code).

Last year, I did the 7 for 4 package and added one more night's stay at the beginning of the trip (room-only - no tickets since we were doing the MNSSHP that night). They never made us move rooms. I don't think they want to make you move rooms, it's too much of a hassle for mousekeeping and the front desk. Like Carol, I just had to go down to the lobby and get new id cards.

This trip that I just returned from I had 6 reservations, each one requiring a different deposit!! I started out with 3 rack rate nights at AKL, WL, POFQ then I had 3 different nights of each of those same resorts at rack rate. I was planning a split stay and could not decide which way to go, and did not know what price I could get the deluxes at w/ ap when that code came out so I kept my moderate back up! Here was the original mess!!

Day 1-3 Day 4-6
WL AKL
POFQ WL
AKL POFQ

After the ap rates came out I got rid of the POFQ and tried to get all 6 nights at AKL but could not so they took my deposits from the POFQ and moved them to the WL and the AKL ressies.
I decided I didn't want to to the split stay 2 weeks before we left so I called every day till the week before we left checking for availability at AKL. They had none, the week we where leaving I could get 5 nights with a pool view, I grabbed it as I was at a standard, the CM put me on hold and somehow a supervisor was able to add my 6th night to my ressie with a pool view. The best thing was, with all of my deposits credited to the one final ressie, I didn't owe anything on my room when I got there!! WHOO HOO!!

Just keep checking!! you never know what can happen!!

WOW Dawnflower! Thats the most confusing reservation I have ever heard of. I'm so glad it all worked out for you!
