Have You Ever Had Perioral Dermatitis?

If you aren't familiar with the technical name it is a bumpy, pimple like rash around the mouth.

My co-worker's daughter-in-law has had this for probably a year now. She sees a dermatologist, she's tried antibiotics and creams, and it doesn't go away.

If you did have it, did you figure out what caused it and what fixed it? Apparently, this occurs 99% of the time in women only.

I have had this twice in my life. Very annoying from having clear skin to getting this.

They don't know what causes it but can be face creams, stress, environmental etc..

The first time i got it doctor gave me a cream ( didn't know what the cause or peri oral was), when that cream didn't work went to a different doctor who said peri oral. I asked to see a specialist and was given an antibitoic called doxycyclin (spelling?). It cleared up quick.

the next time i got it i knew what it was so went to the doctor and asked for the same antibotic and it was cleared up.

I would hate to have it for a year that has to suck. it really knocks your self esteem.

i had it around my mouth and nose which is common place to have it.

Haven't had it awhile which is good. scary think is you don't know what causes it so don't know what to keep away from.
