i have rented points before we bought, sent the money right away and received the conf. letters, then we bought
dvc and a few months ago i rented points from three very nice dvc members agin i sent the money right away within 3 days i had all my points transferred in to my account and made my christmas ressies for my whole family for a family reunoin. now i had 9 points left from my 2003 use year needs to be used by aug of this year and points from 2005 that i had to cancel one night because db will be leaving 1 day early at christmas, no loss it actually worked out we will be staying an extra day, well i was short a few points to make that ressies, then i came across a post for point transfer, ok i thought this will work i make the 2 studio ressies with my 9 points from 2003 and borrow my now 2004 points because i canceled the studio for db using the 2005 points is which now become 2004 points. well the renter agree even sign a contract upon her request and told me a few times that indeed her points are transferable, because once i make the ressies if i have to cancel, those 2004 points become 2003 and have to be use by aug., well the renter knew my risk and guess what happened,
the renter forgot to tell me that she didnt close on her ssr contract, and wont be closing on it until june, i offered her the rooms for cash since i will now have to rent points for my one night in jan. the renter said no, im sure you will be able to rent them out, ok they are for july forth, but the 2 studios are only for 1 night, now i am in a bind, not only do i have these points to use before aug, i cant bank, i cant transfer the points, and no offers on the 2 studios plus i now have to rent points myself.
urgh.
dont get your points messed up like i did, some people just dont get how value these points are until they lose them.
even a contract doesnt make the transaction safe unless you add into it stiffer terms.
or deal with experince dvc members, there are a lot out there that like to help.
my experince renting posts great, renting points out
