Have you ever had a waitlist NOT come through?

Talking about partial week. I have always had the dates we waitlisted for come through in plenty of time for our trip. Say you want 7 nights, and two nights are not available. You book the 5 nights and waitlist for the two. What have you done if those two nights didn't come in? I don't know what I would do. It would be a big pain.

We usually book what is available and then wait list for somewhere else. We have wait list not come through before. We have been on the wait list for VWL for thanksgiving week since the 7 month point and nothing yet. I have read where others get a room somewhere be it Value or another DVC resort.

I also had a waitlist not come thru last summer.

I booked the studio at SSR for all 8 nights. About 5 months before our trip, DD8, decided she would like to try BCV. We waitlisted for all 8 nights, the first 4 nights and the last 4 nights. It never came through, so we stayed at SSR and had a great time.

This year we are going the first week of June and I booked our 8 nights at SSR, and then at 7 months exactly, I called and was able to switch to BCV.

My waitlist for BW View (during F & W) never came through. I can't complain, though because we had a great preferred dedicated studio 5066.

I hope for pixie dust for you-I didn't know you were waitlisted.

Only once has my waitlist not come through. I had 2 nites at BCV, then over to BWV while being waitlisted at BCV, so I wouldn't have to move. I checked on it with up until the night before my move, hoping I wouldn't have to move. And like Kristen, once my waitlist came through at the very last minute-2 days before my trip.

We had good luck previously with waitlists coming through, until this year. We had 2 trips this year, 2008, each with a waitlist of which neither came through.

We never got our waitlist for Vero Beach about 3 years ago. I normally do not go on a waitlist as I like to plan and not rely on others having to cancel. I may waitlist while having a confirmed reservation at the same time.

We waitlisted for a 2-bedroom at BWV during Food and Wine and it never came through. We stayed at our home resort OKW. We love OKW but thought the family that was staying with us would enjoy the Boardwalk area. They like OKW though so all ended well.

Had a wiatlist for four nights at BCV for Sept which included a weekend. The waitlist was put in place in April and never came through. We did have a backup at SSR so it worked out okay.

Had to check before I answered..............and it turns out our BCV 1Br waitlist for Nov 29 to Dec 3 just came thru, this Wednesday. Woohoo!! So my answer is no.

last October we had 1 night at VWL waitlisted and it never came through. We had a cash reservation as a back up so we wouldn't have to move.

We waitlisted for a studio at either BCV or BWV during F&W this past Sept. & neither came through. We stayed at OKW & it was fine. It ended up costing us less in points anyway, but the Epcot location would have been nice. I'm waitlisted for 1 night MLK weekend at VWL for a 1 BR. I'm hoping I'll have better luck this time. If not I'll be paying cash for a 1 night room at WL. Not really what I want to do, but at least if I have to move it's just a short walk.

Had one not come through this Oct. Got one night but had to move the last night of my stay.

I am waitlisted for AKV Concerige this January and don't expect that one either LOL!

I actually have never had a waitlist come through. Not one.

I book something and then do waitlist so if the waitlist doesn't come through, I have a backup plan. That's usually another DVC location but last Dec it was a cash AKL concierge reservation.

I had a waitlist for a studio or 1 bedroom for AKV for early May for 3 months and it never came through. Similar for AKV for October. One was for 4 nights and one for 5 nights; I'm guessing that shorter periods might have been easier to get.

We had a one bedroom at SSR but wanted a two bedroom for October. We began the waitlist in May and it never came through.

We are waitlisted for Kidani Village in a one bedroom for May/June. We have a one bedroom at BCV in case Kidani doesn't come through.

I'm still waiting for AKL Concierge Jan 09 too - DBFs surprise trip for his 30th - thought it would be nice to try....I'm still hoping!!

When do you have to "re-list" your request for waitlist - it's about a month before the trip right?

Trips for May 07 and May 08 wanted to move from SSR to BC, BWV or WL. Booked at 7 month - no good. Trip for October 08 waited listed for BW at the 7 month mark - no good. Now we have a trip booked for May 09 and that was booked at 11 month mark at WL. 7 month mark called member services (while we were on a Disney bus on our way to MK). Asked to be wait listed for BWV or BCV. Surprise! I could have my choice of either (took BW). I'm already on countdown for 11 month mark for next Halloween at BCV.

Two years ago over Thanksgiving, my waitlist for the last two nights of our stay didn't come thru (Thanksgiving and Friday after) and we moved from OKW to the Beach Club. But someone sprinkled pixie dust on our reservation and we were upgraded to CL. We were crammed into a small room - but we sucked it up!

This year I made reservations under the 7th mo window because a basketball tournament came up at WDW that my DH wanted to attend. I had the worst set of piecemeal reservations I've ever had - 2 nights studio OKW, 2 night dedicated 2BR, 2 nights cash at VWL and then 3 nights 2BR back at OKW in lock-off. That would have been 3 moves and I would have pulled my hair out packing and unpacking.

I had to work at this really, really hard. I called often and I begged them to let me waitlist in a zillion ways. Finally two weeks ago things started breaking my way. The studio went to a 2BR and then on one call there they were - the two nights of the 11/26 and 11/27 which I never, ever thought we'd get. I called a the right moment, in the right hour of the right day. Who knows how those two nights were there. We still had 3 moves from dedicated 2BR's to lockoffs and back.....but at least we were in a 2BR the whole time.

Then last night I logged in and lo and behold.........one of the waitlists had flipped and I now have a dedicated for all but the last night. I'm hoping they can do something about it at the front desk at check-in.

So I'm a happy camper now. Tomorrow we tell my 8 turning 9 year old DD that we are leaving for Disney on Saturday am! I can't believe I have kept this secret this long. We have almost spilled the beans so many times.
