Have you ever gone to a chiropractor?

I've been going to a chiropractor for about 6 months and the difference is amazing! I'm a believer! I was having back pains -- so bad one day that I couldn't really walk, but just shuffled my feet like someone in a nursing home and I'm only 27. My chiropractor talked to me about my daily routines, diet, etc., and started me on some exercises and vitamins. Plus, of course, the adjustments. I have not had any pains for several months now. It's wonderful!

Glad to hear that it has been working for you! My DH has chronic back/neck pain and I always thought it would be good for him. Maybe some day I'll actually convince him to go.

It really doesn't hurt at all. It makes a noise that startled me a lot when I first started going, but no pain. The noise doesn't even bother me any more.

Convince him! DH has 2 herniated discs in his back, and ever since he started seeing a chiropractor regularly - he has been doing great. During the times when he stopped going, he ended up in awful pain again.

I also go for occasional adjustments and feel fantastic after. :D

How did you find a good one? Did you get a recommendation or just pick someone out of the phone book?

YIPPEE! I love hearing great Chiropractor stories (my DH is one. :) )

My story: When I met DH I had never been to a Chiropractor. I had headaches 3-4 times a week (I was taking 6 Advil just to have some relief), terrible menstrual cramps, and hip pain. I was only 20! :earseek: I now get adjusted regulary. When I do get a headache it is from stress and tension. An adjustment and a nice massage clears it up. No more cramps or hip pain. :)

DD's first adjustment was at 1 hour old. She also gets adjusted regularly. Kids need it just as much as adults. :) Take your whole family in! :sunny:

I work for one! I wasn't a believer until I'd been working there almost a year and had some troubles of my own...He LOOKED at me, nothing else and knew what was wrong and "fixed" me as best he could (unfortunately, it wasn't something that went away very quickly) but he did get me in condition to ride in a car for 5 hours the next day and for the 12 hr ride to Disney the day after that!! Now I'm a believer and I work for a great man in general.

I love my chiropractor. She's gotten rid of all my old sports
injury pains and some were 25 years old. I found mine by
asking and asking people I knew with like belief systems because
I wanted a gentle soul with homepathic and naturopathic tendencies. What a gem!

I really love my chiropractor! Well, I have to she's my aunt. I've been going to her since I was a baby. When I was little I couldn't say adjust so I'd jump up on her table and say "just me, just me!" I've always kind of liked the popping sound.

My whole family has been going for a while now. Our chiropractor is so good he's picked my dad up at 3 in the morning with his horrible back pain and taken him to his office to work on him. Now thats a doctor!

My DH goes to a wonderful man here in Lakeland. His insurance covers him for 60 visits a year, including massages. Lucky dog. Since he has been getting adjusted, his back pains have melted away. The dr. is very personable and interested in our day to day lives. I also have chronic headaches, but unable to go right now due to insurance reasons. He already said an adjustment will do me good for my neck and headaches. I am looking forward to going soon.

JennLynn - How great to be married to a chiropractor and have him available 'round the clock! :)

I have the next best thing....my chiropractor and his wife are very good friends with me and my DH. We go to church together and are in a Bible Study together. So, if I get to feeling bad, he'll give me a quick adjustment at church, Bible Study, my house, his house. It's great!

JESW - I would ask around and find out if anyone in your area is seeing a chiropractor they really like. Or, call some of the chiropractors in your area and ask if they'll do a free consultation and find the one you're most comfortable with.

My insurance doesn't cover chiropractors  so I've had to pay for it out of pocket. But, it's been worth it for me. Honestly, if I'd try to go to a MD, I bet it would have been much more costly and probably not fixed my problems. Stupid insurance!

I've been seeing a chiropracter for about 18 months and it's changed my life. I had no back pain, just really sick. Low iron, anemic, tired, too low cholestrol. I was on worship team at church with the wife of a chiropracter, and she said I needed to go see her husband. I was at the end of my rope, so I agreed. I saw him 4 times a week for a year, and now am adjusted twice a week. I can't believe how good I feel. I have energy, can eat regularly and feel great.

I have become the spokesperson for chiropractic care wherever I go.

I also wanted to add that Chiropractic is great for pregnant women! I was adjusted throughout my entire pregnancy with DD. It's great for the back pain and the loose joints. :)

Every once in a while I try to lift something I shouldn't. I've learn to get to the chiropractor right away instead of thinking it will eventually take care of itself. I especially love those little electrods they put on your back with electric current and heat going thru them. That can just about put you to sleep!:D
