Have you ever done the carry-out option at Trail's End?

If so, how generous are the boxes for food and how do you handle the tipping on carry-out? Thanks!

I have only done the Pizza... the tip I leave works out to about 10%...

We've done it. The carry-out containers are the regular styrofoam ones--plenty big. We didn't tip anything--didn't have a server or anything like that.

campincorgi,
It makes sense that you wouldn't tip. Unlike a Chinese carryout, for instance, no one has filled the boxes for you. Can you tell me how many people were able to eat from one person's take out order? I have heard reports of two or three.

Does anyone know if you can do carryout for breakfast or is it just lunch and dinner??
thanks

I would guess that you could do carry-out for all meals--we did lunch. We chose the meats and salad stuff and then cooked veggies in the Minnie. When we added in the veggies and any leftovers in the fridge we fed 3 adults (and a practically non-eating toddler).

Okay, now I'm hungry!

We did breakfast and it was comfortably enough for 3 people but we stretched it for 3. There was a plastic container for fruit, a cup of yogurt and the styrofoam was filled with eggs, bacon, waffles and sausage.

I am a bit confused by your post. How many people did you actually pay for that fed three? Thanks for clarifying!

Whoops, I just re-read my post.

My BIL went and got the take out for breakfast and brought it back to our site. Three of us shared but no one had a really big appeteite for 2 people it would be plenty.

Anyone have a clue how many pices of chicken it might hold?? We are thinking of a quick picnic type lunch from there one day>

Thanks,
Jordan's mom

We get take out all the time from the Trails End. They only do it in the evening (4:00pm until I believe 10:30).
They have a limited menu to choose from.
Hot Wings
Nacho's
Pizza
gosh, there is something else, and I can't remember.
We have gotten a pizza (big and LOTS OF CHEESE BY THE WAY) and the hot wings. There were 4 of us and we had 1/2 the pizza and wings left. (and I have a teenager who is a eating machine...lol)

When we've done the carry-out from Trail's End we have been able to fill our containers from the regular buffet. They do also have pizza to go, and perhaps other things.

I usually do a dinner buffet to go. It's about $15. They usually have ribs, fried chicken, some type of potato (mashed or sliced), green beans, corn, mac & cheese, pizza etc. Good "comfort" food. The salad bar is great, then there is cornbread and biscuits and also chili and soup. With the To Go buffet you get a regular styrofoam container with the big front and two back spaces. I usually fill the two back spaces with veggies, the front with ribs, then add two pieces of pizza on top. It really hold more than you would think. You get a soup container which gives us a pretty good serving of mac & cheese. The salad container holds three slices of cornbread and butter. You also get a drink. This feeds me, my Dh, and Ds-4 back at the campsite. DH LOVES the ribs.

This time we also ate a dine-in lunch. IMHO the best deal at Disney- $10 for adults for an all-you-can-eat lunch! I think my son's was only $5 or 6. They had fried chicken, pizza, some sweet sloppy joes I am still craving, and pita wraps, etc. plus the salad bar which can be a meal in itself , and the usual breads and soup/chili.

I'll have to try the breakfast sometime!

OK, gotta go- getting really hungry!
:hyper:
