and what was the deal with the last time ?

I have called it 3 times, the last time, I guy I was working with ( we were clearing out a building before they demolished it) he started screaming for me, was on ground in pain and didnt no why, he had a heart attack about 8 weeks earlier so I thought it was his heart, called 911 they came, they told me his in great pain but its not his heart, they alter found out cancer was all thru him, and he did something where it was against his lung and couldnt breathe right

Witnessed a car crash. Only time I've called 911.

We live near a dangerous intersection where there's a blind hill and curve. Last time I called 911 was for yet another accident at the cross-street where someone pulled out in front of someone else.

Twice. Once an old man drove off the road into a pond, pulled him out and then called. Another, saw a guy fall off a ladder, he broke his back. They do ask a bunch of ridiculous questions.

Once but it was due to a runaway horse in the yard across the street.

About a month ago. I moved last summer and the vacant house is up for sale (actually in my mom's estate). I stopped to check on it and found someone had broke in and stole all the copper pipes in the basement! I don't remember alot of questions on the phone, they mainly were concerned that they were no longer there and I was safe. It was the middle of the afternoon, I suspect they did it overnight. The police came and took a report, they couldn't find any evidence that would lead to a suspect. It's been happening alot in my area. Replaced them with plastic pipes.

Yes. There was a brawl in the street at my sister's college grad party at my parent's house between a drunken partier and a neighbor. A broken bottle was pulled by the drunk party goer. While everyone ran outside to try to defuse the situation, I called 911. When they found out I called the cops, they shoved the drunk in a car and got him out of there before the cruiser showed up.

Then they were mad at me for calling the cops.

Called 911 for a few car accidents too. I also have a cousin who works for a 911 center. He's even been featured on the Today Show for helping talk a little boy through an emergency where the kid's mom stopped breathing.

Actually I just called tonight. My husband and I witnessed a hit and run and I called 911 from my cell while we followed the driver (with about 4 other cars) and cornered him behind a store until the police arrived. Because I was on my cell phone I was transferred three different times before reaching the correct police dept and then was told (with a little attitude) that police were already there. ( I didn't realize until my husband came back to the car that one of the other gentlemen that followed him was an off duty Police Officer)

I didn't want to hang up without speaking to them.

It was a little surreal, but my husband said he had a syringe on his thigh when they opened the door. I think he had some sort of medical emergency.

We live on a small airport. I called 911 when a plane came down without it's landing gear down. I happened to be in the backyard when I saw the plane. The sound of the plane scraping the runway was loud. Luckily the plane didn't flip on impact. The pilot was fine but the plane was totaled. Our neighbor is also a pilot and knew the guy. He told us that the pilot ended up getting his license pulled because it was pilot error and not mechanical.

Twice I can remember and the last was more than 20 years ago. I was driving back home after dropping of DW while we were still dating and a pickup truck zoomed by at a high rate of speed. Not two minutes ahead that truck was upside down on the road. A few other cars had stopped and I pulled into a hotel and called 911 from the front desk. The other time was when I was a teenager. A friend and I were out dirt biking and came across a fire burning in a field. We ran to a nearby house and called for the fire department.

It seems to be about once a year! There are regularly accidents on my road.

The last time was a few months ago and speaking of stupid questions, the dispatcher kept asking location questions after I told her 3 times that the vehicle came to rest in front of the FIRE COMPANY - and had given the address, route # and direction of travel, nearest cross street, etc!!! (our firehouse is no longer manned 24 hours) :headache:

I would love to know which crazy Ohio intersection that is! :)

I have not but my son did when he was three. I made the mistake of slipping into the shower while he was watching cartoons. I swear I didnt take that long at all. By the time I got out of the shower, there was an officer standing in my livingroom wanting to know where the emergency was. I was like:confused3 He asked my son if he called. My son said "YES, I just wanted to know what time you guys opened":lmao::lmao: The officer was not amused, I was:rotfl:

A few times...once when DD-then 2 swallowed a metal screw and stopped breathing briefly...another time two teenage boys went walking down our street with a rifle slung over their shoulders :scared1:...another time when 3 guys were casing the back of our home when my DD-then 15 was home sick from school all by herself (the SWAT team found 2 just outside of our fence)...another time when we flipped our SUV while towing our camper:scared1::scared1:

When I was a school nurse I probably called 911 at least once a month for various things: severe asthma attacks, heart attacks, anaphylactic reactions, passing out, head injuries, broken bones, etc...

I've called a couple of times - car crash on the freeway, and a naked man wobbling down the middle of a busy street at night.

Twice both accidents on the interstate. One a girl flipped her car in front of us on I 95 in Florida . Dh and his mom pulled her out of her car window and we waited until police arrived. She was ok but shaken up.

Last year dh and I were on the eay to his uncle's funeral. It was raining and a car hit the guard rail and spun around. The person was sitting up in the car and appeared shaken but ok.
